The Electoral College system is under attack as never before. With Nevada about to join the other fourteen states in joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, we are moving closer to both the possibility of mob rule and, unfortunately, a terrible confrontation.
Democrats were stunned by their loss in 2016. They were sure they had the election won months before it took place. People were chosen, plans were made. But, it didn’t happen. The states chose differently…by people, by

I would bet on a court fight. Yes, the states are allowed to chose electors any way they wish, however, when a state ignores the votes of a majority it seems that there is a case denying citizens of their vote and surely that isn't allowed.

This country is so primed for Civil War II.
We are totally divided between patriotic Americans (Republicans and unaffiliated conservatives), and American hating socialists (all Demon-Rats and (sadly) some Republi-can'ts).
Between gun grabs, infanticide, and now pure election steeling (an art the Demon-Rats have pretty much mastered), I fear the carnage and destruction of Civil War II is closer than ever!!!!

It will be interesting to see what happens when Trump wins the popular vote and these very blue states have to give him their electoral numbers;-) I love it when these things come back to bite you and I guarantee they always do. Remember Harry Reid and his nuclear option. I can't wait for the screaming and wailing and rending of garments not to mention them pulling out what little hair they have left.

If you want to be elected by the citizens of L.A. and NYC by all means support abolition of the electoral college. And while you're at it, the Senate as well.

I studied the electoral college in high school and marveled at the wisdom of our founding fathers. Their wisdom still shines. Too bad the ignorance of the populous has increased to the point of blindness.

Okay- Now, let us read Section 2 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution:
Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
SO! Should any state deny it's citizens of legal voting age the right to dutifully vote for their electors to choose the President, they will lose the equal number of representatives to the U.S. congress- in proportion of voters who were so denied their Constitutional right to choose electors. No state legislator can deny the voters the right to choose the electors. The electors are designed to be chosen solely by the people, not state legislatures.
When Trump takes this idiocy to the Supreme Court for an emergency ruling, these idiotic laws will be dropped post haste!

Not the REMOTEST chance of ever getting past the supreme court because the constitution of the USA says (from its origination that states(united ones) can't enter into stupid agreements with each other without congressional approval. That's why we had a civil war for gawd sake. If half the states want to secede, we're not going to let them. Those of us whose source of history is Google won't get it. By the time you do I'll be dead and gone but YOU are the ones who will have to live with the consequences. P A Y A T T E N T I O N.

I don't think this will pass constitutional muster, but one never knows what Chief Judas Roberts decides.
Remember that the consitution doesn't talk about popular vite for president. Each state's electors can vote the way they feel, although that doesn't happen very often.
What would be amusing would be the antics of those states, should DJT win the popular vote, but not the electoral vote. They would turn themselves inside out to avoid their own agreements.

I believe that the basis for the democrats' entire argument is wrong. If Hillary won the popular vote in 2016, prove it by recounting every vote and include only verified US citizens. The democrats failed across the board because they had a damaged candidate and they can not admit it. If she was so great, where is she today and why isn't she the dim front runner?

Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powell of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded,"A republic, if you can keep it."
Ir was nice while it lasted.

Yes #10 except Ben should have said, " A republic, if you know WTF that is." Sadly a lot of Americans don't know what that is.

I understand the Supremes trying to hold to tradition and not getting involved until the last resort. But having said that, our constitution is under attack by the globalist marxist left as never before. Time for the voices of sanity to step up to the plate and help Trump put a stop to this overreach by leftist states and the judiciary. If they do not, they have only themselves to blame for what happens if the public is pushed too far.
