Does Anyone Actually Want
Joe Biden to Be President?

Original Article

The most important requirement for the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee? Electability. It matters more, we keep hearing, than nominating a candidate who has good policies. It matters more than nominating a candidate with a track record of passing progressive legislation. It certainly matters more than nominating a candidate who could be the first female president. Unfortunately, very few people who say they are putting electability first seem to understand what “electability” means, or what today’s electorate actually looks like.

Joe Biden 2020 = Bob Dole 1996 . . . . Except Bob Dole is a real war hero, is known for his genuine sense of humor and can usually remember what he ate for breakfast on most days.

The author dances around the central weakness of the Democrat party. They need super-high, enthused turnout from a limited number of demographic groups. The black vote needs to be 90%+ in their corner. Aggrieved women and assorted leftist malcontents need to be enraged. Upper income whites working for governments or non-profits want the gravy train of government spending and lots of cheap-labor immigrants.

I still can't see lazy Joe Biden meeting the high energy levels required of any candidate running against Donald Trump. The Democrats are going to be hard enough to bring under one candidate. Will Bernie slide out at the last minute, avoiding another voter split as happened in 2016? I still think Bernie helped us elect Donald Trump because his supporter were so angry at Clinton for her filthy tricks stealing state primaries from him..and consequently demonstrating how utterly disrespectful she and her people were of rules and laws. Bernie, basically is not much of a campaigner, either...he has a fixed base of far left wing nuts in his bag. Biden is not very charismatic, needs a lot of speaking help and practice. he sounds static and muddled ...and I can not see him doing very well at all blabbing through a debate with the very charismatic, smart, savvy, and aggressive Donald Trump. Let me also add, the Democrats did 2018 well only in the smaller, easily controlled House races. But, they still lost miserably in the larger Senate races. Democrats really do not look electable at all in 2020.

Biden is a stalking horse who will prepare the way for someone like Michelle Obama. Or, knowing that he'll probably not last a full term, the Dems will put their real choice in as VP (some leftist who could never win on her own), with the second slot filled by a Dem Speaker of the House.

What to Leave Out of the COVID Relief Bill 10 replies

Congressional Republicans and the Trump administration have spent the past few months putting off another round of coronavirus relief. Watching and waiting made some sense, given the fluidity of our condition, but it now leaves them with little time to reach a common position and then negotiate an acceptable outcome with the Democrats. Senate Republicans have made a good start by ditching two bad ideas. One is President Trump’s demand for a big reduction in the payroll tax. Under the right circumstances, cutting that tax would be a very good idea. It does not, however, fit the needs of the moment very well. The millions who are out of work

President Donald Trump loves branding his opponents. Boy, do I have the brand for Joe Biden. Other than "Basement Biden." Or Biden is the leader of the "Dementia-crats." Those are effective and memorable, too. But nothing beats this little ditty: Biden stands for "Biggest Idiot Democrats Ever Nominated." Forget Biden's nonstop stumbling and bumbling. Solving America’s race-related problems is hard. So hard that nobody really has any clue how to do it. Burning down an auto-parts store isn’t going to help. But forcing people to attend reeducation seminars also seems unlikely to work. Just as we spend more time watching TV than training for marathons, we lapse into doing what’s easy. And what’s easy, when it comes to race, is pretending to be outraged about commonly used words. Trying desperately not to get canceled, bosses are trying to think ahead about what words might create a fake Duraflame firestorm of anger, and preemptively ruling ordinary words out of bounds.

“Cancel culture” is a double entendre of the dangerous kind. It is not just about canceling individuals or entities who offend leftist activists and their myopic group of minions, it is about fundamentally canceling America. The rabid left is actively rewriting American history as being inherently bad from the start, as it has no excuse to change our culture if there is anything arguably good about it. Therefore, our values, historical narrative, monuments and anything that makes us uniquely American must be disparaged and destroyed. Tyrants throughout history have practiced cancel culture by forcibly suppressing opposition to their authoritarianism with methods similar to what the American left is using today.

We’ve spent plenty of time over the past month or two looking at the seemingly endless series of riots consuming many of the nation’s larger cities. While the violence, injuries, assaults and even deaths capture many of the headlines, the staggering amount of property damage taking place is also a part of the equation. The question is, what do these cities do in the aftermath when downtown storefront windows have all been replaced with graffiti-covered plywood sheets, walls and roads are festooned with paint and lights, statues and other public property has been destroyed? That’s a problem that the City of Denver

The shooting took place near Baxter Square Park around 1 p.m. and all of the victims were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) told Fox News. Protesters ducked behind cars and scattered to flee the area, a reporter from WHAS11 wrote on Twitter.

So we have sports back, starting with major league baseball in empty stadiums, but with artificial crowd noise piped into TV broadcasts as if the game is an unfunny sitcom or something. And in one sense it is an unfunny sitcom, since so many players seem intimidated into the political exhibitionism of kneeling for the national anthem. Here’s a thought: if we want to get real crowds into stadiums, let’s label the games as “BLM protests” instead, since they are exempt from the social distancing rules. The crowd can sing the Black national anthem during the 7th inning stretch, or perhaps a new tune—

As everyone knows, most polls—even Fox News yesterday—have Trump trailing Biden by as much as 10 points or more, reflecting a major slump from his position before the coronavirus and the post-Floyd urban unrest started. On closer look, Trump has lost support with various segments of white voters that supported him in 2016. That’s the finding of an NBC News poll out yesterday. Here’s a key part: Biden is clobbering Trump 58 percent to 37 percent among whites with college degrees, more than double Clinton’s 51 percent to 42 percent lead among that group in 2016 . . . Biden has also modestly cut

As the Democratic presidential campaign moves toward its last three months and narrows down to the false claim that the president has mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic, accompanied by a deluge of misleading polls loaded in favor of the Democrats to show an impending Biden near-landslide, it is almost piquant to hear the most ancient and vociferous Trump-haters still peddling the worm-eaten chestnut of Trump’s moral odium. The historic division between those who approve and disapprove of the president is nowhere clearer than in the Sherlock Holmes–like assiduity of his media enemies excavating ludicrously trivial matters that they portray as monstrous ethical lapses that disqualify Trump from any responsible office.

Walkowitz said the department would respond to recent events with "workshops on social justice and writing," "increasing focus on graduate student life," and "incorporating ‘critical grammar' into our pedagogy." The "critical grammar" approach challenges the standard academic form of the English language in favor of a more inclusive writing experience.
