A huge controversy erupted last year when President Trump declassified parts of the FBI´s secret request to wiretap former Trump campaign volunteer foreign policy adviser Carter Page. Defenders and critics of the president argued over whether the October 2016 warrant application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court relied extensively on the so-called Steele dossier, which was a collection of anti-Trump allegations compiled by the former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign. They also argued over whether the warrant adequately informed the court that the dossier was, in

Maybe because they were on a secret mission to frame Trump?

The FBI was wrong because it didn´t really care about pursuing the truth. Rather, it pursued trash in an effort to discredit Donald Trump.
I don´t have faith in the FBI or the Federal government.

Poor Byron. I have often wondered if his heart was leaning the Right way but he was a bit behind the curve when it came to being informed. Now it is clear that he has been in a dark room where the Conservative Treehouse, Chuck Ross at Daily Caller, John Solomon at The Hill, and a few others, do not reach him.
This is about the dopiest article I have ever seen Byron write. I believe that even the NYT knows that this whole deal was cooked up from zero. That there was never any there there. That Papadopoulos was set up by the FBI. That the FISA warrant (with a number of renewals) was based on a bogus “dossier” created by Nellie Ohr/Chris Steele and the media, working in circular fashion to affirm each other.
Wake up, Byron...

The FBI was so wrong because it had evolved into a political lapdog under Clinton and Zippy, rather than being a neutral law enforcement agency.

In the end it all comes back to the same series of questions. Who was recommending to President Trump that he retain and promote DOJ and FBI officials who were part of the anti-Trump Russia collusion-conspiracy program?
Someone who knew the system but would still be vulnerable to peer influence. Someone who would take counsel and advice on who was needed and where. Someone in a position of influence with President Trump. Someone who could steer these placements from a position of advisement close to the President. [It sounds like Don McGahn]
Appointing Rod Rosenstein as DAG was one of those key placements.
Appointing DC U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu was another.
*From Rosenstein we get: Mueller, Chris Wray, David Bowditch and Dana Boente.
*Meanwhile Jessie Liu quashed cases against: Awan bros, James Wolfe, Greg Craig and quite possibly Andrew McCabe.

I have been convinced that York knows exactly what has happened and is pretty darned sure that he knows why.
However, there are a hell of a lot of people in this country who have a huge bias to trust the FBI in all things. If you are going to convince many people, who have only heard the Enemedia lies for the last two years, and know nothing of what Sara Carter, John Salomon and CTH have uncovered, you need to take it slowly.
If any source comes out, without a LOT of slow, careful, responsible, calm sounding, "Hmm, what have we here?" sort of preparative reporting, they risk a BUNCH of people going ´this is just Republican trash talking´, and stopping listening.
I think York realizes that there is a HUGE gulf between what he folks who have been paying attention to the very, very few sources who have had this story right all along and most people who have not followed this story much and mostly have heard the endless lying drumbeat of the Enemedia.
Got to bring them along slowly. Turn over rocks one at a time, and say, "Well, look at that!".
"Gee, why did the FBI make so many mistakes?"....leading the horse to water.

Its called greasing the skids. You land them gently one step at a time. IMO, not necessary here. If they land with a thump, so be it.

#4 hammers it home - - with a pile driver!
Byron is so totally clueless that he still buys the blatant lies that the "Russians" hacked the DNC server and "interfered" with our election.
More clueless than that you cannot get.
I feel sorry for the crustless triangle sandwich crowd - - who rely on Byron for their news. Those poor waifs are still in the dark. How can they eat their crustless triangle sandwiches under those conditions?

I do not think that Byron York is clueless. He is trying to introduce folks who know zip about this to the idea of a totally corrupt FBI, DoJ and CIA, slowly a bit at a time.
Ultimately, this will bring along more people.
Don´t judge him so harshly, he has a job to do. to convince the idiots who watch CBS, NBC, etc. and get them to grasp what has been ACTUALLY happening.

The tone of using the word ´wrong´ implies that the outcome was just a mistake - ´Oops!´ My bad. But the truth is that this was a malicious misuse of government powers at the behest of Obama - NOT the Whitehouse - Obama.

Yes, #14, of course you are exactly right.
But to convince the ignorant, it is necessary to let them see a little bit of this for themselves and figure out the motives for themselves. Slowly, gently, and they they can change their minds, come up to speed with reality.
Any honest person who has been fooled by CBS,CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, PBS, etc need to be brought around slowly. Don´t want them to go catatonic from overload on how crooked the FBI, CIA and DoJ actually were under Obama.
For many decades those letters meant "the good guys". Not so much, at least at the top. Uncertain how deep it runs.
