Alexa has been eavesdropping on you this whole time

Would you let a stranger eavesdrop in your home and keep the recordings? For most people, the answer is, "Are you crazy?" Yet that´s essentially what Amazon has been doing to millions of us with its assistant Alexa in microphone-equipped Echo speakers. And it´s hardly alone: Bugging our homes is Silicon Valley´s next frontier. Many smart-speaker owners don´t realize it, but Amazon keeps a copy of everything Alexa records after it hears its name. Apple´s Siri, and until recently Google´s Assistant, by default also keep recordings to help train their artificial intelligences. So come with me on an unwelcome walk down

Made sure our kids know we don’t ever want one of these things! I turned Siri off on my iphone as soon as i figured out it was listening to me and then putting ads in the browser for things i had only talked about - Told the kids to, too, but they don’t see the big deal.

TV´s and phones also have listening devices. There is no real privacy anymore. My son has a Siri thingie. He talks to it like it´s a real person and heck, maybe it is on the other end. I not only don´t do Facebook, I don´t do twitter and all the other social networks. I do know Windows can get into my computer at will. They kept telling me to leave my computer on so they could ´upgrade´ stuff. I turned it off, unplugged it and took the stick out. They still uploaded stuff. Nothing is private.

14, if the laptop had the battery out, you can be certain that nothing was uploaded at that time period. Prior or after, whenever you turned it on and connected to the net, yes. Cannot happen when powered down and battery out.

You CAN set this to NOT update if you want, at least on Win 7 that I have. Not sure about Win 10, but it is my intent to never use Win 10.

After nearly two months, the state of Pennsylvania is found to have certified votes that are in error. The Pennsylvania House has just uncovered that the certified results in Pennsylvania for President are in error by more than 200,000 votes. This is more than twice the difference between President Trump and Joe Biden. What a mess. Republican State Representative Russ Diamond uncovered and reported today that the results for President are way off in Pennsylvania. More ballots were cast than people voted by more than 200,000 votes.

After weeks of partisan back-and-forth over whether a justice should be appointed so close to the presidential election, Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court on Monday, eight days before Election Day—making her the third successful nomination during President Trump’s tenure and the sixth conservative justice on the nine-person court. Barrett was approved to be an associate justice on the Supreme Court in a 52-48 vote that ended Monday evening, with all but one the Republican senators, who have a majority, voting in her favor.

Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court by the Senate Monday evening, filling the vacancy left by liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The vote was nearly entirely along party lines: Senator Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to dissent, voting with all 47 members of the Democratic Caucus against the conservative Trump nominee over concerns of the proximity to the election. The final vote was 52-48. "Because this vote is occurring prior to the election, I will vote against the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett," Collins said in a statement over the weekend.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
