If anyone wants to see what is wrong with journalists´ and other Democrats´ thought processes, they should read Charles Lane´s (another genius from the Washington Post) writing about the Jeopardy! champion. He thinks it is terrible that James Holzhauer seems to be much smarter than his opponents (it should be noted that he won by only $18 on Monday) and calls him a menace. It is just so unfair. Heaven forbid that Holzhauer plays by the same rules as everyone else but seem to be a better player and smarter. Lane complains that we pay too much attention to numbers
I´m a J! fan. I am now compelled to watch every night out of fear that I´ll miss the show in which he gets knocked out, but I am not cheering for that. I have no idea what his income is in a normal year but wonder how he will pay the taxes on his J! winnings.

Am a Jeopardy fan and certainly no dim. But it´s more interesting when it´s not a runaway. It´s like watching a football game when one team is ahead by 5 touchdowns and there´s only 3 minutes to play. (Unless it´s the Atlanta Falcons where no lead is safe.) The guy is smart, knowledgeable, and quick. And a professional gambler who isn´t afraid to bet everything. He´s not as annoying as some of the other big winners. The big question for some of us is how much longer Alex can hold out now that he has terminal cancer. I would like to see Celebrity Jeopardy with Don Lemon, AOC, and Plugs.

"THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren´t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else."
--from "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
If you haven´t read this short story, you really should take a few minutes to read it! The full text is online. Since this site doesn´t allow non-news links, you´ll have to look it up yourself, though. Try searching for the author´s name and "Harrison Bergeron." Very prescient!

Lane doesn´t speak for me or the miilions of viewers who appreciate the program and the knowledge of the currrent Champion. Here´s a suggestion to Lane; YOU enter and we can all see how stupid you are.

In life someone always does better than you and worse than you. Accept it and do the best you can. That means you have no claim on others’ success or property.
This is the reason envy and avarice are two of the seven deadly sins.

Liberals hate competition, because they have always been losers.
They want no score in t-ball, no valedictorians, no CEOs, no winners.

After a while, the regular season is over, and bring the winners back for a championship playoff. My sister watches, but this is getting old. It´s not interesting to watch a better team beat ordinary teams over and over.

My favorite Jeopardy moment was when Cheech beat Anderson Cooper on Celebrity Jeopardy. My second favorite was when Wolf Blitzer ended up in the red.

I hope James wins and passes the obnoxious Ken Jennings. Gee, maybe they should take Jeopardy off the air because a few people don’t think it’s fair for one person to win so much, or because it’s boring. Don’t watch it!

Holzhauer starts by picking off all the high ticket questions and moves up toward the low rent neighborhood. Most players start low, perhaps believing the questions will be too tough at the high $$$ to begin with?
He builds a base of winnings that can then be hugely doubled and he is not timid in his doubling wagers and final jeopardy wager.
He is pretty smart on a wide and deep scale, but not perfect. He is quick on the clicker, which I found was the hardest part when I tried out on a lark decades ago. Failed to make the cut. Too slow.

Neat story #3. We are certainly heading that way and AOC wants to be Handicapper General.

I have only watched a few days, but I find James Holzhauer to be both very intelligent and very likeable at the same time.
He just answers lots of questions correctly, and smiles a lot -- with a few funny stories about his family thrown in when it is appropriate.
Everybody in Hollyweird should follow his example!!!!

That´s right. Demonrats hate winners which is why they hate PDJT. He has shown the country 2-1/2 years of real progress already in comparison to Barry and his freak show´s 8 years of corruption and destruction. It ticks them off that PDJT demonstrated what success looks like compared to Barry and his freak show´s utter destruction.

Not surprising at all: The left has been pushing the false notion of "equality" on the basis of the least common factors. Standards have to be whittled down as far as possible to be inclusive of the greatest possible number of people. High performance and high standards are frowned upon as elitist and therefore discriminatory.
The claim that all men are born equal and therefore are entitled to equality of outcome is a BS myth.
