WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Joe Biden formally joined the crowded Democratic presidential contest on Thursday, betting that his working-class appeal and ties to Barack Obama’s presidency will help him overcome questions about his place in today’s increasingly liberal Democratic Party. He made his announcement in a video posted on Twitter, declaring, “We are in the battle for the soul of this nation.” “If we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation,” Biden said. “Who we are. And I cannot stand by and watch that happen.”

Most people in the country know that the politically self-serving UniParty “Swamp” in DC has been completely screwed up by “insiders” who spend their entire careers there. Those are the people and special interests that have been resisting the “outsider” Donald Trump 24/7 who was elected in effect to drain that DC political “Swamp”.

Joe Biden is the ultimate liberal Democrat lawyer-politician who has spent over 43 years as an elected “insider” in DC. It is fool’s gold to believe that putting Biden in the White House will change the long-term political corruption there.

Chances are Biden will eventually announce that he intends to only spend one four year term in the White House. In that respect Biden will select as his Vice-President a minority person, who probably has not yet emerged on the national political scene, who the leftist and liberal Democrats desire to be their presidential candidate in 2024 and 2028.

Since the Democrats have really no positive political agenda relating to the economy, and the multitude of jobs that the Trump economy has produced, they instead want to raise up taxes to the point that they are bound to squash the favorable economy. So look forward to a Biden campaign that is seeped in innuendo against President Trump, and big time identity based racial politics that is designed to separate the nation into various ethnic, gender, and racially based groups, along with keeping the borderline open so that the country can continue to be flooded with poor, uneducated, and socialist minded illegal aliens who the Democrats intend to eventually morph, by way of amnesty and a “pathway to citizenship” that is designed to grant as many as possible US voting rights.

I believe there are so many clowns in the democrat clown car, "Whoever for President 2020" because it´s a cash cow. 99% of them know they have no chance (Mayor Pete, Kome-ona Harris, Cory Book-me, etc.). But it sure gives them opportunity to milk the cow for $$$. Joe Biding-time is just another one.

The democrat party is so compartmentalized at this point that no one will get the needed support, except maybe Crazy Bernie. He´ll get all the socialist votes, even though he´s a socialist hypocrite.

The one who comes out on top (unless under #Metoo that description is inappropriate) will be the Soros funded one.

Again, like the other democrats running for potus, they depend on the illiterates of their voter base for support. What PRESIDENT TRUMP has done in only 2 1/2 years for the economy, for the American worker, his domestic and foreign policies and his love of country is unmatched by any democrat past and present. And Trump did one more thing, he proved without a doubt that Barack Hussein Obama was a total fraud. He and Uncle Crazy Joe Biden turned the presidency into a farce. Got it.

While Nancy Pelosi and other Democrat leaders dismiss the Trump economy as just benefiting the wealthy, my perspective is quite different. Since I have always resided in or near the inner cities of New York, it is quite obvious that these leaders have no idea what is happening in these neighborhoods. Help Wanted signs are posted in about every small business which no longer has to suffer the Obamacare mandates. Houses are undergoing renovations for the first time in years. The nearby housing project parking lots are filled with brand new vehicles. Restaurants now have packed dining rooms and waiting lists

The showdown that is brewing between Attorney General William Barr and the House Judiciary Committee poses enormous dangers for President Trump. It might not look that way at first blush. The feud, after all, is ostensibly over the terms under which Mr. Barr is to testify before the House about the report from the special prosecutor, Robert Mueller. It has yet to ripen into a formal impeachment proceeding. Mr. Barr might be able to win this fight.

The days keep getting worse for Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh. On Thursday, federal agents raided her homes and offices, Maryland’s governor called for her resignation “for the good of the city” and speculation swirled about her whereabouts, as she presumably is still recovering from a bout of pneumonia. The escalating drama played out in Baltimore amid a backdrop of political isolation for the embattled first-term mayor, whose sales of her self-published “Healthy Holly” books to a medical system she oversaw and to firms seeking contracts in the city are being investigated by federal and state authorities.

Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed May 17, 2017. Twenty-two months later, on March 22, 2019, Mueller sent his report to the Justice Department. Some special counsel investigations have taken longer; it is the nature of such probes to drag on and on. But why did Mueller need nearly two years to determine whether the Trump campaign and Russia conspired or coordinated to fix the 2016 election?

Special counsel Robert Mueller´s investigation is over, but the aftereffects of the Trump-Russia affair live on. One such aftereffect is the reluctance of some important figures in the 2016 campaign to speak out, for fear of continued legal entanglements. Take J.D. Gordon, who served as the Trump campaign´s director of national security. Never accused of any wrongdoing, he played a central role in one of the most controversial and least understood episodes of the Trump-Russia matter: the approval of the 2016 GOP platform at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Assembly Bill 186, which passed the Senate on a 12-8 vote, would bring Nevada into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement between participating states to cast their electoral votes for the winner of the popular vote. If signed as expected by Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak, Nevada would become the 16th jurisdiction to join the compact, along with 14 states and the District of Columbia.

Jerry Nadler was at it again Tuesday, waxing indignant about former White House counsel Don McGahn’s refusal to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. It’s all a show, meant to keep old news in the headlines, and to appease the large “Impeach Now!” wing of the Democratic Party without actually doing anything. Everyone on Judiciary knows perfectly well that Congress can’t compel testimony from top presidential advisers except in the most extraordinary circumstances: The chief executive’s right to frank, confidential discussions with his staff is well-established. So Nadler’s bluster about how he’ll “go to court to secure” McGahn’s appearance is just noise for the cameras. Then again, that’s all

There's a recurring theme in American science fiction where the country loses its way, endures some horrible but cleansing disaster, and then rediscovers the blessings of liberty. You'll find it in Robert Heinlein's "Future History" stories, where the Crazy Years -- a period of rapid technological advances, decaying social norms, and mass psychosis -- leads to the backlash of a religious dictatorship. The Prophets regime is eventually toppled by a liberty-loving group dedicated to individual rights. The theme is even more pronounced in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, where a socialist regime puts the country into another Great Depression, only worse. The country's capitalists
