Starbucks Corp.—recognizing it’s often a safe space for the most vulnerable visitors—has installed needle-disposal boxes in some locations. The coffee giant started adding the boxes in several U.S. markets this January after receiving requests from employees last year, a spokeswoman said. It will add them to any store where employees cite a need, she said. “We are always working with and listening to our partners for ways we can better support them when it comes to issues like these,” Starbucks said in an email, citing “scary situations” and a need to ensure its workers “are out of harm’s way.”

Hopefully they will advertise which locations will have the needle disposal boxes so I can avoid them. Oh, wait! I already never go to Starbucks.

While they´re at it, why not add a backroom for illegal gambling...and one more for the ´girls´.

Are druggies that neat that they will deposit their needles into said boxes? I wouldn´t be surprised if they even have the ability to hit the urinal.

Accommodating deviancy and dysfunction, so as to signal political correctness, is perverted. Why not have Starbucks simply station drug dealers in their restrooms for convenient injections right along with one´s morning coffee and muffin? Asking the Barista for a "shot" may soon have a second meaning when drugs are legalized.
This will be a big hit in Blue Cities ... perhaps opium dens will be coming back too. Anything for a buck, ´eh?

I don´t understand why they think that street junkies even care where they dispose of their dirty needles.

Maybe they can designate a space right outside the front door for the junkies to throw up and others to relieve themselves a la San Francisco.

Rare that I am in a Starbucks. It happens. If I find myself alone in a restroom with one of those needle boxes..... hmmmm.... unpredictable where my imagination will take me.

If Starbucks was so concerned about "supporting our partners" in "scary situations", they would not throw open their doors to non-buying vagrants and addicts, accommodating their nasty habits and illegal activities. They´re interested in appearing politically correct, period.

Let´s see if you want to catch catfish, you put out stinkbait. If you want to catch sharks, you put out chum. If you want to shoot turkeys you put out corn.
If you want to attract junkies put out needle disposal boxes.
Thank goodness I don´t drink coffee and have only been in a Starbucks once with a friend. I got some expensive hot chocolate. It wasn´t even close to good or worth the price.

How exciting. Wait until they tell you how many are pulled out of the restrooms dead with a needle still in their arm.
