Less than a month ago, conservative Judge Brian Hagedorn was a dead man walking. As he raced against liberal Judge Lisa Neubauer for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the local press portrayed him as an anti-gay extremist and bigot. They called out the Christian school he founded for its code of conduct stipulating “no sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman.” Never mind that this code of conduct is common practice at private religious schools across the country. The Democrats seized on the moment. Outside money poured in from groups like Planned Parenthood

What I can´t get is Scott Walker losing re-election. He did a ton of good work for the state balanced budget, high employment, lower taxes. So they elect a libtard that will undo all the good.
Go figure?

@#4- It could be something as simple as Gov Walker not wanting to be in public office forever. If so, that´s a certainly a noble gesture.

Thanks OP, for that research on Zito. Now, for anyone looking for a new home in Wisconsin, you have been informed by the Wisconsin Realtor Association that they support or promote sodomy and fornication. And then there is that insensitive and offensive term for the donation made and their asking for its return. Hagedorn has a Can-Do spirit in that when the bad press persisted, he kept on against that tide. Another great Against All Odds story.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Mitch McConnell tells Republicans running for reelection in 2020 to run free of ties to Trump. Idiot.

So proud of Racine County - which is where Neubauer if from - for going for Hagedorn. Racine and Kenosha counties have been blue since the ‘80’s but went for Trump (I knew he was winning when I saw that) and now Hagedorn. They are microcosms of the country. Dominated by cities of Racine and Kenosha, with their inner city problems and voters, there are the suburbs and lots of rural area too. When the GOP can win against the heavily Democrat voters of the cities, it shows how it can be done anywhere in the nation. The Democrats are going to pound us with their convention here and I imagine candidate visits. But we have shown the GOP twice now to stay on the conservative message, don’t run scared, and the voters will turn out.

Wisconsin is not as liberal as portrayed, and never has been, outside of Dane County.

Well, Dane and Milwaukee counties for sure are liberal. Walker did not run a good campaign. Some of the conservative talk shows have laid the responsibility at the feet of those in charge of the campaign who lived in the Dane county bubble. It was asserted that the Republicans had a poor to nonexistent ground campaign and simply didn´t get the voter base out to vote. This same pattern and poor campaign lost the previous Supreme Court election which could have been run with some effort. Thankfully the base turned out in the nick of time to hand Hagedorn a 6000 vote plurality. It´s the ground game folks that wins elections, not the blog postings.

I remember speaking with a friend in Wisconsin back in September, who is well connected with Democrat politics. He´s agreed that when the Dems take over and open the re-education camps, he´ll get me assigned to one of the nicer ones.
Anyway, I asked him about the governors race and he thought Walker was a shoo-in. But it must have been tight once they brought Pres. Trump in for a rally, plus there was a Dem. senator up for re-election with poor opposition.
It´s great to hear that places like Racine and Kenosha county are in play for the GOP. They, as well as Dane and Milwaukee county were always solid Dem. Some of the western counties (near the Grand and Glorious Socialist People´s Republic of Minnysota) are purple.
I´m personally happy to see my home county, Manitowoc, which used to have a beer sign over the court house saying "County Democrat HQ" has even turned Republican. I think there were three of us when I left in 1979.
I (and many of our neighbors) were shocked when she let me put up a Dreyfus for Gov. sign in our yard in 1978. But that´s cause she didn´t like the doofus that was the Dem. gov. after ol´ Pat Lucey left for Mexico.

Reading thisarticle made me realize how completely oblivious Democrats are. They focused their campaign against the conservative judge on the basis of his support for traditional marriage and the support they attacked did not consist of an effort to make other forms illegal. Those who would vote against someone on the basis of what they attacked him for were going to vote against the conservative judge anyway. While a significant number of people would be energized to get out and vote for the judge because of the attacks.

There is something important to note in the article. "outside money poured in from groups like Planned Parenthood"
If they have money to donate to political campaigns, why do they need government funding?
