The Fauci Legend Will Not Die!

Mother Jones on Dr. Anthony Fauci: “The diary entries contain plenty of cringeworthy moments—Fauci congratulating himself on how famous he had become, for example, and basking in the attention of female celebrities like Julia Roberts and Barbra Streisand. What they don’t contain—much to the dismay of Paul and Fauci’s other critics—is any kind of smoking gun proving that the public health leader deliberately misled the American people.“ I wonder what Mother Jones would consider a smoking gun. On February 9th, 2020, appearing on the Newt Gingrich podcast “Newt’s world,” Dr. Anthony Fauci said the idea that Covid-19 came from a lab was a “conspiracy theory… without any scientific basis.”

Note that CBS is one of the worst offenders. The new management hasn't made a bit of difference.

The European Commission on Thursday announced a call for tenders designed to generate over €30 billion ($34 billion) in state and private funding for the construction of seven so-called AI gigafactories to boost the European Union's computing independence. Of the funds, €10 billion will come from the EU and member states while private investors put up the remaining €20 billion. The funds are to be collected and distributed by the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), which was launched in 2020 to develop "a world class supercomputing ecosystem by pooling the resources of the European Union, European countries and private partners."

Good policy, it is said, makes for good politics. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and his Senate GOP colleagues find themselves in a serendipitous moment, having before them a tremendous opportunity to serve the nation’s interests while simultaneously benefiting their party’s narrower political interests. What is the opportunity? Simple — stay in Washington until they pass a budget resolution to make possible the passage of key elements of the SAVE America Act.

A federal judge on Monday blocked the Trump administration from creating a centralized database containing Social Security numbers along with information about voters’ citizenship status and other sensitive data. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan, an appointee of former President Biden, said officials across numerous government agencies “haphazardly combined and repurposed the private information of millions of Americans, including citizenship data that they knew to be unreliable” in order to comply with President Trump’s March executive order attempting to overhaul federal elections.

In less than a month, Trump accounts – dedicated savings accounts for children – will formally launch. A new move announced by the Treasury Department and the first lady last week is expected to expand access to children in foster care. Trump accounts, which are similar to retirement accounts, have to be established by the child’s parent or guardian. That could otherwise make it complicated for a child in foster care to have an account created for them. On Thursday, first lady Melania Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the launch of “Fostering the Future Accounts.” Trump, speaking at a news conference at the Treasury Department

The recent California gubernatorial and Los Angeles mayoral elections—where, remarkably, Steve Hilton and Spencer Pratt both appear to have advanced to the general election in November—offer a glimmer of hope. Could it be that some on the Left, along with a number of Independents, have finally realized that neither wealth nor an upscale ZIP code can protect them from the Left’s vindictive socialist madness? California gas prices, even prior to the Iran war, had reached the highest levels in the continental United States. The cause is self-evident: left-wing policies

In a state that hasn’t elected a Republican governor in nearly two decades and where Democrats outnumber Republicans nearly two to one in registered voters, Tuesday night belonged to two conservative political outsiders who based their campaigns on a simple message: Californians deserve better. Former Fox News host Steve Hilton and reality television veteran Spencer Pratt arrived at their respective races with thinner war chests than their establishment rivals, no prior experience in elected office, and campaigns built less on policy infrastructure than on raw charisma, populist messaging, and an uncomplicated argument: that California leaders had failed, and that change – dramatic, disruptive change – was long overdue.

“It’s a Jackie Robinson moment.” That declaration by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries struck a curious chord because Jeffries was calling for Black athletes to boycott SEC conference teams to protest not the existence but the elimination of racial discrimination. Jeffries was upset that the court had ended racial gerrymandering designed to guarantee the election of non-white (and largely Democratic) House members. It was as if Jackie Robinson were to join a protest calling for the return of race-based discrimination in baseball.

The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais, barring racial gerrymandering, has many on the left feigning vapors, despite the predictions of many of us that this result was likely. While figures such as Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) declared that the court itself has been “gerrymandered” to rig the upcoming elections, this decision is actually the culmination of decades of jurisprudence by various justices — particularly Chief Justice John Roberts.

How does the supposedly most fearsome regime in the violent Middle East now find itself on the verge of an utter economic and military collapse? Iran’s half-century-long deadly terrorist reputation peaked with the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel that it helped fund and coordinate. Iran’s terrorist ambitions of running the Middle East had accelerated after witnessing Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and his administration’s distancing itself from Israel. Biden’s humiliation by a series of Chinese slights and the Russian invasion of Ukraine further eroded American deterrence. European appeasement was another force multiplier of Iranian hubris.

"Monty Python" actor John Cleese warned this week that the world has failed to live up to the ideal of saying "Black lives matter" when it ignores anti-Christian terrorism in Nigeria. Numerous news sources around the world, including The Associated Press, reported that according to local military and officials, at least 26 people were killed in three separate Easter attacks in northern Nigeria. This has caused multiple prominent commentators to not only criticize the terrorism rife in the region, but the silence of the international community that they argue is politically-motivated. "It looks rather as though Black Lives Don't Matter," Cleese lamented

Anthony Fauci on Wednesday appeared before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee, but pleaded the Fifth to avoid answering questions by Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) and others about his obfuscation of facts surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. Fauci told the committee in an opening statement that he believes in and respects “the value of legitimate congressional oversight,” and noted he had testified before or briefed Senate and House committees more than 200 times over his 38-year career. He mentioned appearing for hearings in the Senate and House for transcribed, sworn interviews about the Covid-19 pandemic.

What a cowardly and shameful final chapter for Dr. Anthony Fauci, who pleaded the Fifth 111 times in the Senate Wednesday even though he has a pre-emptive presidential pardon that gives him immunity from prosecution. In the history of Congress, only a couple of mob bosses have invoked the privilege more. “On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer, based upon my rights, under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution,” the Machiavellian career bureaucrat said over and over in the nearly three-hour hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. But Fauci’s silence rendered him a villain more powerfully than his usual sly deceptions. Shameful, too,

"This is what the DSA/socialist platform looks like in practice - in another country," he added. "No borders. No immigration enforcement. Complete freedom of movement without any resistance from the government." The videos coming out of Ceuta, Spain are insane," he added. Is there a serious crisis of confidence in the Social Security system? It certainly looks that way, based on the latest national online I&I/TIPP Poll, which was taken June 29 through July 2 by 1,473 Americans. The poll’s first question asked voters: “How confident are you that Social Security will pay full scheduled benefits throughout your retirement?” Among those responding, 43% said they were either “very confident” (16%) or “somewhat confident” (23%). But 47% answered either “not very confident” (23%) or “not at all confident” (24%). Another 10% said they were not sure.

A stunning paperwork failure has handed Democrats a guaranteed pickup in Florida House District 47 without forcing them to win a November general election. Democrats have effectively flipped a Republican-held seat in the Florida House after GOP incumbent Paula Stark failed to qualify for the ballot and her legal effort to reverse the disastrous mistake collapsed in court. Leon County Circuit Judge Joshua Hawkes formally dismissed Stark’s lawsuit on July 23 and ordered the clerk to close the case, ending the Republican lawmaker’s last-ditch attempt to regain her place on the 2026 ballot, according to Florida Politics. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, stunned Republican senators on Wednesday when he refused to answer their questions about the COVID-19 pandemic by invoking his Fifth Amendment right at the start of a congressional hearing. Unlike other instances of witnesses taking the Fifth, however, that wasn’t the end of the proceeding, as GOP and Democratic members of the Senate Homeland Security Committee continued quizzing Fauci for under four hours. Republicans, led by Chairman Rand Paul (R-Ky.), demanded answers on the origins of the pandemic,

Anthony Fauci stumbled into the Senate chamber today, shaking and looking like he hasn’t slept in weeks, carrying one enormous shield: the Fifth Amendment.(snip)Fauci has backed himself into a corner where every available option right now is dangerous. Tell the truth, and he could destroy what little shred of “reputation” he has left. Lie, and he gets an all-new legal problem that Biden’s autopen pardon can’t touch. So Fauci chose door number three: say nothing and hope the Fifth gets him out of the room alive. But thanks to that sweeping Biden pardon, that 5th escape hatch may eventually slam shut.

The issue of illegal aliens being detained while awaiting their transport out of the country is destined to eventually hit the Supreme Court.Several courts of appeal have split on the issue of whether illegal aliens can be detained during processing out of the country with some saying yes and some saying, no. The Nineth Circuit Court of Appeals weighed in today and also said no, with a rather goofy and odd reason in their opinion. [Court Ruling Here] The 9th CCA doesn’t like the term “illegal alien” so they use the politically correct term, “unadmitted aliens” to describe non-Americans who are in the country illegally.

At least three times in 1858, during speeches or in Lincoln-Douglas Debates, Abraham Lincoln brought up slavery as being on a path to ultimate extinction. Whether it was in Chicago on July 10th or Jonesboro on September 15th, crediting the nation's founding fathers as crafting the Constitution as the vehicle creating the dead-end path for that evil institution, or from the phrase's most famous citation, the House Divided Speech on June 15th in Springfield, Lincoln's meaning was quite clear. Either the opponents of slavery
