Judge blocks Trump's $100,000 H-1B visa fee

A federal judge on Monday vacated President Donald Trump's $100,000 fee for employers' H-1B visa applications. The policy implementing the large fees on high-skilled worker visas violated the federal Administrative Procedure Act and the Constitution, Judge Leo Sorokin declared in the ruling in U.S. District Court in Boston. Sorokin agreed with the 20 Democratic-led states that brought the suit in finding “the substance and application of the $100,000 payment reveal that it is a tax,” and that Congress had not delegated that power to the executive branch. Trump's Mic Drop Moment Over CA Elections

California elections are conducted ridiculously, taking days and weeks to come to a conclusion, and raising questions about the process. This isn't a new question; this has been going on for years. As my colleague Susie Moore opined in her morning minute, the process lends to suspicion. If it looks like a duck, it's going to make people think it's a duck. What's more infuriating is the reaction from the left and the media, like, "Oh, this is normal." It may be normal for California, but it's not normal for most of the rest of the world. As my colleague Bob Hoge put it, "The system that Democrats created

Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday Israel would “hold fire” after President Trump called on the prime minister and Iran’s leadership to return to a cease-fire. Netanyahu said the fighting “on the Iran front” had been contained — making clear that Hezbollah targets in Lebanon remain separate, which Iran has tried to link to the ongoing US-Israel-Iran cease-fire. “If they [Iran] make a mistake and resume attacks we will respond powerfully,” Netanyahu said. “Israel has the right to defend itself and we implement it when needed.” Earlier Monday, Trump told both Israel and Iran to stop “shooting” at each other in a post to Truth Social,

Communication lines between Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and other Iranian officials have been disrupted since Sunday night, according to information obtained by the anti-regime London-based outlet Iran International. A source familiar with the escalation, including Iran launching missiles towards Israel on Sunday night and Monday morning, said that the launches were likely carried out under "pre-established military protocols without coordination with Khamenei's office," Iran International reported. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' response to Israel's strike on Dahiyeh in southern Beirut appeared to be too rapid to have followed an exchange of messages between Khamenei and the IRGC and military chiefs, the source added.

Today's Big Boomer Problem: They're hoarding the wealth. It was either my partner in thoughtcrime, Stephen Kruiser, or Yours Truly (honestly can't remember which) who pointed out ages ago on Five O'Clock Somewhere that Lefties have this Scrooge McDuck image of wealthy people and particularly of business. Every successful businessman has a vault full of gold coins and rubies somewhere, and they go swimming through their riches whenever the fancy strikes, lording it over all the little people

A poll shows many Democrats would rather live in a different country and wave goodbye to the United States of America, the news coming as more in the party view socialism favorably. The Elon University/YouGov America 250 National Survey that was performed between April 30 and May 4th asked respondents “Is there any other country on Earth you would rather live in than the United States today?” to which 55 percent of Democrats said yes. Thirty-eight percent of Independents said yes while only 10 percent of Republicans gave the same answer:

The Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, is wowing skeptics after months of criticism from the radical left. The Trump administration has continued to debunk criticisms of the Reflecting Pool restoration process. The establishment media has been one of the worst offenders, penning articles picking apart the shade of blue chosen for the bottom of the pool and more. The Washington Post ran to a “color consultant” who believes the shade will look “very dismal.” The New York Times also targeted the improvements made to the pool. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum pointed out that former President Obama’s administration closed the Reflecting Pool for two years, spending a whopping $38 million

Half a century after Steven Spielberg challenged audiences to think about what lies beyond the starry canopy that defines our universe in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the director is again challenging accepted precepts of faith and singular belief in a supreme being. His new film Disclosure Day sees him revisit the possibility of aliens: “I absolutely think that they have been here, and they are here,” he outlined in an interview with CBS News. First he outlined the themes behind the $115 million creation and the answers it (possibly) posed to questions of life, faith and mortality.

LONDON — For the second time in a week, a top Trump administration official has publicly criticized Europe over migration levels, the latest in a series of attacks aimed at political leaders on the continent. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth used a speech marking the anniversary of D-Day in France on Saturday, commemorating 82 years since the 1944 push to liberate Nazi-occupied Europe, to lambast what he described as another “invasion” of Europe’s shores. “Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies,” Hegseth said at the event in Normandy. “Beaches in Spain, in Italy, in Greece and Bulgaria.

To earn of the last minutes of Henry Nowak’s life would be shocking and distressing under any circumstances. The stabbed teenager begged officers for help, as they handcuffed him before realising their mistake. To watch those final moments, on the police body-cam footage released this week, is all the more immediate, and unbearable. The outrage is widely shared. But the way it has been weaponised is alarming. His family’s wish is for his legacy to be a renewed effort to reduce knife crime, not increased antagonism along racial and religious lines. Bereen Dzayee, 25, of Lakeside, California, was arrested Friday on federal terrorism charges. Neighbors and a former classmate identified him as a former U.S. Navy sailor. Prosecutors allege he proposed using drones to target U.S. Special Forces and helped fund a scheme involving rocket-propelled grenades and UAVs intended for attacks on American servicemembers overseas. The FBI arrested Dzayee along with Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas, and Elias Shamsaldeen, 21, of Porterville, California. The three are charged with conspiring to provide material support to ISIS after allegedly spending more than a year discussing attacks, raising money, and expressing support for the terrorist organization.

Israel conducted strikes on military targets in western and central Iran early Monday local time, the Israeli military announced, escalating a conflict that had already broken through the ceasefire just hours earlier when Iran fired multiple waves of missiles at Israel on Sunday. The strikes came despite a direct phone call from President Trump to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him not to retaliate immediately for the Iranian missile attack. A senior U.S. official told the Associated Press, on condition of anonymity to describe a private call, that Trump believed he had convinced Netanyahu to wait. Israel struck anyway.

After slowly gaining on Pratt for several days, Raman, a Democrat, is still sitting in third with 26.21% of the vote, Saturday night’s latest election numbers show. Pratt, a reality TV star, is now clinging to second with 27.32% of the vote. Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman has overtaken former reality TV personality Spencer Pratt for the second spot in the Los Angeles mayoral runoff, according to updated vote totals released Sunday by the LA County Registrar-Recorder. Raman, a progressive Democrat representing the city’s 4th Council District, now holds 27.12% of the counted ballots. Pratt, a registered Republican who ran on a law-and-order platform, sits at 26.69%. The gap stands at 3,113 votes. Decision Desk HQ projected Sunday that Raman had secured the second of two spots in the nonpartisan primary, which advances the top two finishers to the November 3 general election regardless of party.

Biden explained during a discussion with political commentator and “The View” co-host Ana Navarro for her new book “View From the East Wing: A Memoir,” that while her husband was still president and had a team of doctors, she mentioned that he was getting up seven times a night to go to the bathroom, and she assumed that someone would follow up on that.

Spencer Pratt’s once-comfortable lead in the Los Angeles mayoral primary has been slashed yet again — as a fresh batch of ballots delivered another major boost to progressive City Councilmember Nithya Raman in their race to the November runoff. New results released Saturday show Pratt’s advantage over Raman shrinking to just 7,494 votes, down from more than 20,000 a day earlier. Roughly 78% of the ballots had been counted as of Saturday. Raman picked up 23,514 votes in the latest count, more than double Pratt’s gain of 10,336. Her share of the vote jumped from 24.9% to 26.2%, while Pratt slipped from 28.2% to 27.3%.

Election Day returns indicated that Spencer Pratt had easily secured the second position in the Los Angeles Mayor race, and would face incumbent Karen Bass in the general election. But ballots have continued to come in and be counted, and a remarkable number of those ballots have been for the initial third-place candidate, Nithya Raman. So it looks like the runoff election will be between two far-left candidates, and Los Angeles will continue to go downhill. Conservatives generally assume that the fix was in, and Raman’s renaissance is due wholly or in part to voter fraud. Are they right? Donald Trump slammed Barack Obama's new $850 million presidential library, with a photoshopped prediction that it would be surrounded by homeless camps within ten years. A 'giant trash can' is just one of the unflattering comparisons the new center has been called ahead of its opening on the South Side of Chicago on June 19. And Trump weighed in by posting a photo of the library with a garbage bag on top and homeless encampments surrounding it to Truth Social on Saturday. Trump wrote over the AI-generated image: 'The Barack Hussein Obama Library, in 10 years, when fully matured!'

Last Thursday, even as California’s chaotic primaries demonstrated the need for a nationwide election integrity law, Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) voted to kill the SAVE America Act. This would be understandable if the bill were unpopular with the electorate. But its requirement that voters in every state must provide proof of citizenship before registering to vote and produce a photo ID when casting a ballot are wildly popular among Republicans and Democrats. Yet, because its passage is one of President Trump’s top priorities, TDS forced them to ignore his agenda.
