Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been urging US President Donald Trump to continue the war against Iran, The New York Times reports, citing people briefed by American officials. Bin Salman has spoken to Trump several times over the past week, pushing the president to keep fighting until the regime in Iran is toppled, according to the report. The Saudi prince sees Iran as a long-term threat that will persist as long as the Islamic Republic exists. He also believes that Iran could continue to target Saudi Arabia and threaten shipping after the war, the newspaper says. According to the Times, bin Salman fears

I don't necessarily consider Saudi Arabia an ally we need to protect. It's a pretty awful regime. So what they want couldn't interest me less. I'm interested in dealing with the Iranian threat on our terms, according to our timetable, with regard to our own national interest.

The Crown Prince is not wrong. As long as Iranian Islamists remain in power and supported by the Revolutionary Guard, this current war will only afford a temporary respite while Iran retools. No peace accord is truly possible with people who believe it is has been commanded by God to lie to infidels like us in order to murder Jews, Christians, and everyone else not of their faith (lower case F).

I trust the Saudis judgement in this particular case. Its true, they aren't exactly known for personal freedom and unobtrusive gvt., but they do know what the Iranians are capable of, and its a time-honored tradition among Iranian islamic hard-liners to lie their asses off when in negotiations, so the Saudis would be overjoyed if we did invade. Iran is just infested with vermin from the Regime and the Arabs know what it takes to root of an infestattion. Gotta root them all out and that takes people on the ground. But why don't we let the Saudis do it, instead of us? Let the OPEC nations form their own unified ground command and go for it.

The Saudis know that Iran leaders lie. You could say, the Saudis fear Iran almost as much as the Israelis. The current leaders that survived our attack must be eliminated by fighting or jailed. Those remaining must not roam free. Everyone needs to remember those 32,000 that were killed in cold blood for just standing up peacefully for their freedom. The remaining Iranians in leadership will continue to do as they always have....want a nuclear weapon to hold the world hostage.

Saudi fears that they will be an eventual target if Iran continues to grow in power. That being said, I don't see the Saudis offering anything other than moral support. As others have pointed out, Saudi is no friend of America, just someone in the Middle East who is not trying to kill us.

That Democrats want to protect criminal illegal immigrants from deportation is not exactly breaking news, considering their hysterical reactions and theatrics to the mass deportations that occurred in 2025 and into 2026 as a result of President Donald Trump's crackdown on people who were here illegally. But to hear them so brazenly admit that it's at the core of their refusal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) amid the terrorist attacks and threats against the homeland, as well as the long airport lines and TSA workers not getting paid, just adds a whole new layer of despicable to it.

"Iran's attack on Gulf allies of the United States and Jordan is an attack on the entire world and the world economy," she said. Trying to put a chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz is a threat to the world economy, Nusseibeh asserted. "Effectively, Iran is trying to give the global economy a heart attack," she said. On Tuesday, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling that dramatically expands the federal government’s authority to detain migrants without bond, holding that even those arrested inside the United States — far from any port of entry — can be subject to mandatory detention. In Herrera Avila v. Bondi, the court adopted a broad interpretation of federal immigration law that effectively erases the long-assumed distinction between migrants stopped at the border and those living in the interior. Joaquin Herrera Avila entered the United States illegally in 2006 and again in 2016. He was arrested during a 2025 traffic stop and placed in removal proceedings

A cryptic video posted by the official White House X account sent social media into a frenzy of speculation about whether a major new military escalation against Iran is imminent. The shaky footage, which has since been taken down from the official account, appeared to point downwards towards a woman's booted feet, with a voice asking: "It's launching soon right?" Within an hour of being posted the clip had attracted 1,500 comments, with many users convinced the phrase — believed by some to have been spoken by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt — signals a dramatic new development in America's war with Iran.

As an effort to end a war, the effort to negotiate with Iran already appears to have as little value as negotiations did before it began. As an effort to delay escalation until appropriate assets arrive in the theater, the five-day delay on Donald Trump's ultimatum on Hormuz traffic looks valuable indeed. Through indirect channels, the US has sent the Iranian regime a 15-point plan to end the current conflict. The Wall Street Journal summarizes it as essentially the US position before the war, along with a demand to allow traffic to resume unmolested through the Strait of Hormuz. That means no enrichment, dismantling

Which, of course, would trigger a manic Game of Thrones in Iran, where every mullah with Supreme ambitions jockeys against the other. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods suffered a Supreme Court legal rebuke in late February, but they’re not doing much better in the court of public opinion. As the latest I&I/TIPP shows, a plurality of voters don’t believe the economy will get a boost from tariffs, which win strong majority support only from Republicans. It was once the case that most conservatives and many moderates rejected tariffs on imported goods as an unwanted distortion of free trade. Meanwhile, liberals embraced tariffs as a welcome tool of government “industrial policy.” But President Trump has flipped the script.
