The Virginia Supreme Court handed Democrats a massive win Friday, allowing them to move forward with a redistricting referendum that would gerrymander the commonwealth’s U.S. House districts from five Republicans and six Democrats to one Republican and 10 Democrats. Democrats have been looking for a way to push through their referendum, despite legal challenges and court rulings saying the efforts are illegal, in time for an April 21 special election that would allow the gerrymandered map to take effect before the November general election.Early voting i(snip) If the referendum passes, it would allow the Virginia legislature the authority to redraw the congressional maps, instead of its nonpartisan commission.

Well, even the non-partisan commissions are partisan, but not as bad as their legislature. The real problem is the GOP would lose 4 Republican seats. It's past time for the Red States to fight fire with fire. Politics ain't corn-hole.

Newscum just did the same here in California with his illegal Prop 50. Republicans had five seats in our huge state delegation, but that was still just too much for our overlords to allow. The "special commission" overruled our constitutional independent commission, and 45% of our state that are normal people have no meaningful representation. I'm sure Brillcream's success gave Virginia the idea. California is always the first laboratory for the Left. I often wonder if the Left chose California because we gave the nation President Ronald Reagan. The "slow march through the institutions" was perfected here, and then the playbook was exported to other conservative states to initiate their eventual demise. In return the "establishment" Republican Party was, unbeknownst to us at the time, complicit in all the Deep State plans. #1's response is indicative of many comments on threads that expose the Left's blatant behavior in states they have overtaken by subterfuge. It's an easy one to toss off without thought. I gently ask that some concern for those of us who are defending our birthright behind enemy lines be given a little consideration and support. MAGA then MCGA - Make California Golden Again!

Virginia is a microcosm for what will happen in the US if the Democrats ever get control of all three branches of government. I'm so happy we left there after 35 years and moved to TN 16 years ago. I now see some of the same leftist attitudes in posts on local social media because of all the people moving here from CA, IL and other leftists havens.

It seems that the woke Democrats in Virginia are hell bent on driving a stake into the heart of Democracy by defying their own constitution to amend the their state constitution to do an illegal midterm gerrymander of voting districts. This will create a Democrat oligarchy that most Virginians appose.

In the race for California governor, so many Democratic candidates have crowded into the contest that party insiders have become fearful of a historic calamity in the making. It’s become mathematically possible that Democrats divide their vote so much that two Republicans advance from the June primary to the general election. “It’s the parlor game in Sacramento right now — could this happen?” Democratic consultant Paul Mitchell said. The uncertainty in the outcome stems from the state’s unpredictable “ top two ” primary system. All candidates appear on a single ballot but only the two top finishers advance to the November general election,

In the wake of the Democrats’ successful flipping of a long-held GOP Texas state senate seat, one that President Trump won handily in 2024, many pundits expressed opinions about what happened and who was culpable (Republicans) or commendable (Democrats) for it.(snip)  the pressing question remained: is this a palpable sign that the Democrats’ “Long Game” is beginning to turn red Texas purple? Some thought “yes.” Some thought “no.” I thought of California. California is America’s most populous state and arguably also the most Democrat. Rather, the goal was to eliminate all personal transportation freedom, and by outlawing ICE vehicles, the battle would be halfway won, ... Here in the U.S., blue states are pivoting toward mileage caps, which would establish maximum “vehicle miles traveled” (“VMT”) allowed for an entire state, with regulators then creating “incentives” to reduce individual driving so as to achieve the VMT objective.

Senate Bill 26-097 would require the entire state to decriminalize “commercial sexual activity among consenting adults,” both for people who buy sex and who would sell it. This would be unique in the U.S., as the only other states with any form of legal prostitution, Maine and Nevada, still have certain rules around it. In Nevada, for instance, prostitution is only legal within licensed houses of prostitution, or brothels, and some
