Dozens of agitators packed the Minnesota Capitol on Tuesday, their chants echoing through the halls as tension over federal immigration enforcement boiled into a standoff just feet from Gov. Tim Walz’s office. The protest comes amid a broader wave of demonstrations following recent fatal encounters involving federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, with activists calling for accountability and changes to enforcement policies. On Tuesday afternoon, around 200 agitators gathered outside Walz’s office inside the Capitol building, shouting, "ICE out now!" and "Do your job!" Before the demonstration, organizers said they planned to slowly march toward the governor’s doors, a move that

The Saturday shooting death of anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti has roiled the city of Minneapolis and sent thousands of demonstrators to the streets night after night in the frigid cold. The inflammatory rhetoric from leftists continues even as not all the facts are known. President Trump, meanwhile, is sending Border Czar Tom Homan to the Twin Cities to manage the volatile situation, while U.S. Border Patrol Commander‑at-Large Gregory Bovino and a number of his agents will reportedly be leaving town.
However, according to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, Bovino remains a valued member of the Trump administration:

Virginia is the epitome of a swing state, at least over the last few years. From far left Democrats to conservative Republicans and back again, the state seems to swing like an unlatched screen door in a hurricane.
Now the state has gone from Glenn Youngkin to Abigail Spanberger, and with her comes a litany of anti-gun proposals that Democrats in the Old Dominion State have long wanted to implement.
And as NRA executive director John Commerford notes, this marks a change in the Second Amendment in Virginia.

In a commentary article in the Financial Post on Tuesday, Bjørn Lomborg argues that Net Zero is “on its way out”, as politicians across the world face up to the high cost and tiny climate returns of raising energy prices. With voters “weary of soaring energy bills and annoyed by increasingly hysteric and patronising climate rhetoric”, governments from the US to UK, Germany to Australia are waking up to the “simple truth”: “aggressive Net Zero mandates are delivering economic pain for unmeasurable and far-off climate gain”. Lomborg senses “a new pragmatism” entering the climate debate

Why are at least two people dead and multiple federal law enforcement officers injured?
What broader principle are Democrats, liberals and leftists rioting over in Minneapolis?
It certainly isn’t the idea that states can defy the federal government on immigration law. Obama took Arizona v. United States to the Supreme Court to prevent states from enforcing their own immigration laws. The Biden administration dispatched some of the same federal immigration law enforcement officers now being assaulted and booed to dismantle barriers and fencing put up by states like Arizona and Texas to control the mass invasion of millions of illegal aliens.

The White House said on Jan. 26 that President Donald Trump will not retreat from his demands for strict immigration enforcement in Minnesota, pressing state and city leaders to fully cooperate with federal authorities and laying out the president’s strategy to bring back law and order following unrest in Minneapolis.
At a briefing with reporters, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt outlined Trump’s plan, which directs Minnesota officials to turn over criminal illegal immigrants to federal custody and urges state and local police to assist federal agents in arresting and detaining those wanted for crimes.

Three-quarters of a million people were killed in the American Civil War, and another half million were wounded – many grievously.
That was in a country with a population of less than a tenth of today’s America. The equivalent deaths in today’s America would be about eight million. That’s something like 20x the American deaths in WWII.
Much of Atlanta was burned to the ground in the Civil War, as were large sections of Charleston, Vicksburg and Richmond.
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a southern sympathizer near the end of the war, five days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered the main Confederate army.

Another person was killed while interfering with immigration law enforcement operations in Minneapolis. Authorities on Saturday shot Alex Pretti, 37, after a struggle in the middle of a street, during which Pretti can be seen confronting and video recording ICE agents. He died on the scene, according to law enforcement, and he was found to have been in possession of a gun.

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar's latest federal financial disclosures show millions of dollars in newly reported assets tied to her husband’s businesses, representing a massive increase compared to previous years' listings. The disclosures, filed as part of Congress’ annual financial reporting requirements, come as Omar has publicly denied being a millionaire, labeling such assertions "ridiculous."
Despite those denials, the sudden appearance of the assets at high valuations has raised questions about her husband’s business holdings and prompted President Donald Trump to call for a Department of Justice investigation into the couple’s shared wealth. Omar’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Never mind the fact that we are looking at a full-fledged, organized rebellion, which apparently includes massive fraud and money-laundering, state-level involvement, and international support. Never mind that U.S. federal assets are under attack and that the rebellion is getting people killed. So, forget about the truth. Forget about right and wrong! Winning elections in the 2020s is all about leveraging the news to activate votes. That’s how the PR game is played.
And you don’t do that via faithful fidelity to reality.

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel sided with the Trump administration, ruling that limits imposed by a judge earlier this month were too broad and vague. “A wrong call could end in contempt, yet there is little in the order that constrains the district court’s power to impose it,” the panel wrote in its unsigned opinion.
