The Trump Counterrevolution and the Moral Ledger

Despite the media hysteria, Trump’s counterrevolution remains on course. Its ultimate fate will probably rest with the state of the economy by the November 2026 midterm elections. But its success also hinges on accomplishing what is right and long overdue—and then making such reforms quietly, compassionately, and methodically. The prior administration found that it was easy to destroy the border and welcome the influx. No country can long endure without sovereignty and security—or with 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants crossing the border and half a million criminal foreign nationals roaming freely.

Hanson is correct that Trumps counterrevolution success hinges on accomplishing what is right and long overdue. However, left oriented Democrats, MSM and judges are hell bent on doing everything possible from happening. And shamefully, the Supreme Court seems willing to let activists run wild while it does nothing to reign it in.

Trump’s order on sanctuary cities is
a trap for Democrats

In a new executive order published yesterday, President Donald Trump placed a target on sanctuary cities and created yet another trap for his political foes. This new proposal requires the federal government to create a list of “sanctuary” jurisdictions which refuse to cooperate with federal authorities on immigration law. It instructs various federal departments to defund sanctuary jurisdictions as much as they can under current law, and also to establish policies which verify the legal status of those who receive federal benefits in sanctuary jurisdictions. What’s more, this executive order telegraphs that the Trump administration may escalate its legal battles.

I realize this may blow Democrats' minds, but 100 days into President Donald Trump’s second term, most of the millions of Americans who cast their vote for him are still happy they did. And Trump has not been twiddling his thumbs in these first months back in the Oval Office. There’s plenty to like or dislike, from his large number of executive orders to his federal cost-cutting bonanza with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. So, it’s telling that a recent poll shows the vast majority of Trump supporters would vote for him again now, if given the opportunity for a do-over.

Last week, after their absurd attempt to make a martyr of Salvadoran deportee Kilmar Abrego Garcia, some Democrats seemed to realize they had committed a political blunder. As Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) put it, “I don’t know if that’s the right issue that Democrats should be focusing on right now.” Many polls, including a CBS/YouGov survey released Sunday, indicate that most Americans support the deportation of people living in the U.S. illegally. Yet, when a Wisconsin judge was arrested for aiding a “migrant” in his effort to escape immigration officials, the Democrats repeated their error.

I guess I am a total jerk, but according to The New York Times, I should be deeply concerned that an illegal alien from Jamaica who came here as an adult, was convicted of kidnapping and who spent most of his time in the United States, was deported back to his home country. (Snip) Apparently, the new standard for being deported is...well, NOBODY should ever get deported. If you think different, then you are a Nazi, or at least Nazi-adjacent. As is often the case, the headline tells the people who are inclined to have their opinions assigned to them by The New York Times

David Hogg, the name synonymous with gun control theatrics, now holds a position of power as vice chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). But does he have any idea what he's doing? His latest move suggests that the answer is a resounding "no." Instead of building the party, Hogg decided to launch a $20 million campaign to primary sitting Democrats in blue districts. You read that right. This dumb kid got himself elected as vice chair and now wants to spend millions to start a civil war within his own party.“We don't want to pick unnecessary fights, but we're willing to do that if our approval rating continues

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) drew the ire of victims of illegal immigrant crime everywhere on Thursday when he met with illegal immigrant and suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia at the CECOT maximum security prison in El Salvador. Abrego Garcia had been living in Van Hollen’s home state of Maryland. Despite being in the country illegally, the country’s vast left-wing political machine has tried to advance the incorrect narrative that Abrego Garcia was a “legal resident” of the state. This is not true. Nevertheless, the senator claimed he was worried about Abrego Garcia’s well-being. Yet, that same kind of concern didn’t exist when it came to holding

When the House passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act on April 10 it took a good first step toward the restoration of election integrity, assuming the Senate also passes it and President Trump signs it into law before the 2026 midterms. Nonetheless, until Congress imposes major reforms on the U.S. Census Bureau and its hopelessly Byzantine methods of gathering data for the constitutionally mandated census, it can’t be relied upon to produce accurate results. In the era of Big Data this bureaucracy’s aging systems and institutional inertia all but guarantee the kind of inefficiency and corruption that DOGE

Houseguests and fish begin to smell after three days, as the saying goes. But ex-presidents who stay in Washington, D.C., reek almost immediately. In the history of the republic, former presidents have had the decency to get out of town rather than loom over their successor. The two exceptions appear to be Woodrow Wilson and Barack Obama. Wilson, however, has the excuse that he was practically bedridden and expired within three years. Obama has no excuse at all.

The general consensus among informed political analysts is that the Republicans emerged from last November’s election in control of the White House and Congress due to the border crisis and persistent inflation. The Trump administration curtailed the influx of illegal immigrants with remarkable speed and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for March suggests that inflation is also returning to the modest levels that prevailed throughout President Trump’s first term. The CPI declined by .01 percent last month, a year-over-year rate of 2.4 percent, while core inflation sank to a four-year low.

Has that been a place that the Democrats are facing some real weakness and vulnerability?”

Host Jordan Klepper began by wondering, “The criticism from the right is, what do we need public funds to go towards NPR for? What is that argument?
