On Wednesday’s broadcast of NewsNation’s “On Balance,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) argued that President Donald Trump “continued to close the border,” after President Joe Biden “used his extraordinary powers, emergency powers to close down the border and the drop in border crossings started with President Biden, dramatically.” Host Leland Vittert said that during NewsNation’s town hall earlier in the evening, “the border almost didn’t come up because it is something that Donald Trump has solved that Joe Biden said he couldn’t do without legislation, Donald Trump did. Has that been a place that the Democrats are facing some real weakness and vulnerability?”

Second only to President Donald Trump's historic first 100 days of his second term, from a newsworthy perspective, has been the voracity with which Democrat-nominated federal district judges have attempted — unconstitutionally so — to obstruct this president at every politically driven opportunity. On Thursday, Trump took the first step of his second term to right the federal district court system.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced his nomination of Whitney Hermandorfer to serve as a judge on the Cincinnati-based Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, which hears cases from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
For reasons that defy logic (but are easily explained as default emotional opposition), the Democrats and the press have been yoking themselves to figures in the deportation news cycles that are consistently problematic. In the furor to automatically oppose President Trump in any activity and policy, it is a baffling reality to see the insistence that deeply flawed, violent, and illegal individuals be allowed to remain in the U.S. And it has cast the media in a position of idiocy. Like most of us, I suppose, the shock to our system and way of life during the government’s response to COVID-19 cannot easily be forgotten. It was our taste of ill-considered government tyranny, a public-health disaster. As more information about its origins and how the disease was handled is revealed, it always gets my attention. In sum, banking on helping defeat Trump, the public-health establishment and media suppressed more credible options for dealing with a disease which was not life-threatening to most in order to promote a vaccine then in the works. The vaccine when it was developed and administered was not terribly effective and has itself caused substantial injury.
