Over a quarter of Democrats think the U.S. would be better off if former President Donald Trump had been successfully assassinated on Sunday, according to a Napolitan News Service poll released Wednesday. Among those surveyed, 28% of Democrats and 27% of Democrat-leaning voters answered “yes” to the question asking if they thought the U.S. would be better off if Trump had been assassinated, with 17% of all respondents agreeing and only 7% of Republicans, according to the poll.

At a meeting in July, the board advanced a proposal that would require three separate poll workers to count ballots at voting precincts on election night to make sure they match the number of ballots recorded by voting machines. That proposal has been posted for public comment and the board is set to vote Monday whether to adopt it.
A Russian court has sentenced amateur ballerina Ksenia Karelina to 12 years in jail for treason for donating $51 (£39) to a charity supporting Ukraine. Karelina, who has American and Russian citizenship, pleaded guilty last week after a trial held behind closed doors.
