Harvard Professor of Law Emeritus Alan Dershowitz has proven to be a wealth of (often but not always) solid commentary and analysis in recent years, as he is one of the few on the left side of the political aisle who’s been willing to point out that much of the endless Democrat lawfare against Donald Trump has been a banana republic style of justice and runs counter to our Constitution.
He’s also been a lifelong Democrat, which has been head-scratching to me. I sometimes wish I could ask, “How can you be a lifelong Democrat—did you hear what you yourself just said?”

Not impressed. Dershowitz would not say he would vote for Trump --- he won't. Dershowitz has been a Democrat all his life, which means he is not very smart.

Wow! I have marvled for years how he could be a Democrat with everything he's seen. And I trust that he's an honest guy.
Welcome

Another step in the political realignment of our two parties. The Marxists consolidate their hold on the Democrat Party by pushing another Truman-JFK liberal out of the party. Wonder who's next?

He is a lifelong Democrat. But if he can see it, so can other like-minded Democrats. Let's hope that common sense and a desire to keep their Constitutional rights outweigh their "I support my corrupt politicians no matter what" mentality.

My parents were both democrats. All my uncles and aunts, cousins, everybody in my family. My Dad died in 1966, I believe he would turn over in his grave if he could see what his party has turned into.
I was a democrat, very liberal until I got out on my own. Working for a living, I caught on pretty quickly that dim-0s were not for me. I was the first Republican in our family, now they basically all are.

Dersh may say he's not a Democrat be he's certainly still a lawyer. He's waiting to decide who to vote for in Nov. based on "the totality of circumstances". Say what?! With all his disillusion and problems with the DNC he's not sure who he's going to vote for yet? Is it uncomfortable straddling that fence, Al?

Alan baby, come clean. If you are trying to be a solid, honest person, don't horsecrap around with this, I'll decide who to vote for based on what they do with Iran. Whaddya think we are all as stupid as you democrats? If you don't know how Trump or Kacklin' Kommie Kammie will handle Iran by now, you ain't as bright as I thought you were. Stop the horsecrap, Al. Just say you are voting for Trump and be done with it.

Professor D, good news. But I see you have declared yourself as an Independent. An independent what? Yes, come clean and tell the world you will be voting for Trump/Vance and pubbie for all other down-ballot races. Meanwhile, show us the beef, sir, and let us see you standing shoulder to shoulder with Trump and RFKjr at Trump's next rally.

I don't blame him for keeping his voting decision to himself. He knows what TDS does to people. I think he's voting for President Trump.

Not calling yourself a Democrat is a long way from becoming a Trump supporter. There is no such thing as an Independent. Everyone has an ideology of some kind unless they’re brain dead. They just like the attention.

Took him Long enough...I really respect Professor Dershowitz...he knows his law and I've been amazed how he has stayed on board with the democrats for this long...the rats have been chasing him for a long time...lying about him and his reputation....especially his phantom trips to Epstein's island...it has damaged his reputation and his standing in his community....

He's only half way out. Don't forget - Joe Manchin, Krysten Sinema, Bernie Sanders, and Angus King are all "independents," and they all caucus with the Dems. Doesn't mean a darn thing unless he comes out for Trump.

#8 got there before me but I echo that comment. I appreciate that Alan D. has left the dems but really....why isn't he coming out for Trump? Why does he need more evidence in the next several months before he decides for whom to vote? Wasn't his disgust concerning the convention enough proof? My appreciation for his change of heart is still there but it may have dimmed a bit.

I am an 81 year old recovering democrat. Completed the informal 12 step program and I am democrat-free since 1968. Feels great to be clean of the democrat disease. Professor Dershowitz is proof that it's never too late.

Prof D has had a lifetime in the party.
So it's easy 2C why it took so long.
But now like Reagan he'll say that he didn't leave the democratic party it left him.

Dersh is a smart man. I keep saying we have to register to vote, but the actual vote is a "secret ballot" after which you may choose to stick that un-serious I VOTED football shaped sticker to your shirt. Of all the useless crap involved in any election, those tacky stickers are the bottom of the barrel. Who pays for those, or does the mfgr. just give them away? As if!
