Eloy Alberto Zayas-Berrier was part of the infamous Mariel boatlift that brought 125,000 Cubans, including criminals and mental hospital patients, to the U.S. in 1980.
He’s been in the U.S. ever since in a bizarre legal limbo. He can’t qualify for citizenship and Cuba has refused to take him back, so he’s been stuck on “parole.” He remains here with only the barest of legal protections and cannot get a green card. He is decidedly not a citizen.
That did not, however, stop him from showing up at an early-voting location in North Carolina on Nov. 5, 2016, where he not only registered and claimed to be a citizen, but also

The system has been broke for decades. My wide, now, a US citizen as of 2007, came here with a valid green card, work permit in 1981. When she finally decided to become a citizen, the examiner asked "What are you doing here?" She didn't exist in ICEs statem anymore.

I testified in a federal court for a green card employee who was told by a Chicago ward representative that he could vote in a federal election. They wanted to deport our employee and I was to impart his value to our corporation. I was asked if he was replaceable. I wanted to respond that everyone is replaceable but I had to bite my tongue and ignore the idiocy of the trial and play the game. He was acquitted and ultimately moved to Texas. Happy ending.

If he voted illegally and he is on "parole" why isn't he in jail.?

Obviously, something must be done about this, but the the loony left elites have decided to flood the country to ILLEGAL ALIENS and FORCE FEED amnesty on the new underclass who will be enslaved to the government welfare system and therefore will vote SOCIALIST the rest of their lives.
The Mariel boat individual mentioned in the article should have been part of the Reagan Amnesty boondoggle which he later regretted since the enforcement of it was NEVER iIMPLEMENTED.
That is how the demonrat socialist Marxists work-- they promise this glowing 'Great Soceity" of lofty intentions, and then LEAVE U.S. with not candy or flowers, only a feeling of getting violated once again by trickery, but now the so-called RiNOs have become Lucy pulling the football away too!

It's even easier than that in Biden's version of America. Swim south across the Rio Grande and swim back north at any popular crossing point. Presto! You are a citizen with a vote, an EBT card in your pocket and a brand new cell phone.

The voter registration systems throughout the USA have been turned into an honor system through provisions of the Clinton era Motor-Voter laws that automatically registers all applicants for drivers licenses to vote in US elections. Those provisions also prohibit local voter registrars from verifying the citizenship of the people who are being registered to vote. Only US citizens are qualified to vote in US elections. But in the USA Today there are tens of millions of non-citizens, both illegal aliens and legal immigrants, who hold US drivers licenses and have automatically been registered to vote in US elections. In many States mail-in ballots are mailed to everyone who is registered to vote in that State, disregarding the fact that large numbers of those ballots are obviously being mailed to non-citizens who are not lawfully entitled to vote in US elections. Upon receipt of those ballots in communities that have high foreign origin populations, Democrat operatives help the non-citizens to fill out and sign their ballots. The Democrat operatives then “harvest” those ballots and turn them in to be counted in the upcoming election. So you can see why the Democrats are against any investigation to determine how many non-citizens have been registered to vote, have received ballots either in person or by mail, and who have voted in US elections. In the State where I live, that is considered to be a reliable Republican State, once a potential voter shows a State issued drivers license, or writes his or her drivers license number on a mail-in ballot envelope, he or or she is considered to be eligible to vote and their ballot is counted in the election, no other questions asked!

Ironclad proof of citizenship needs to be required for registering to vote. And every five years, all registrations should expire and require re-registering, with proof of citizenship.
This is how the voter rolls get cleaned of dead and moved people relatively painlessly. And if you don't care enough to register again....too bad.
Here in Kansas people who aren't actually registered at all are let vote "provisionally", and it is not clear if these votes are counted or not....the "judgement" process is behind closed doors by people who aren't seen and weren't elected.

Illegals voting in our elections is just as obviously been going on since the mid 90s due to the purposeful passing of the clintoon Motor Voter law, as Republicans needing to pay more attention to who they nominate in the primaries. More illegals voting for demonrats ever since, more rinos masquerading as Conservatives since. Nice combo by the commies, huh?

It takes no significant effort in most places. Just say you are a citizen and poof, you get to vote.
PROOF of citizenship needs to be provided, and periodically RE-proven. Voter registration should expire periodically and have to be redone IN PERSON, never on line, with documented proof of citizenship.

If you know any Mexican citizens, ask them and they will show you their Mexican citizens voter ID card issued to them by the Government of Mexico. If you ask further, they will most times tell you that a Mexican voter ID card is what they showed as ID when they applied for a US drivers license, the process that also served to automatically register them to vote in US elections under provisions of the Clinton era Motor-Voter laws and procedures.
I once talked to a Nigerian who was in the USA who told me that there was no way that anyone in Nigeria could vote there without showing a Nigerian citizen voter ID issued by the Nigerian Government. He laughed and said that without those Nigerian Government procedures being in place that there would be mass fraud in the Nigerian elections. Who would have thunk it?
