French President Emmanuel Macron said over the weekend that Europe should embrace an approach of “strategic autonomy” when it comes to tensions between the United States and China.
The French president said that by allying too closely with the U.S., Europe risks being dragged into conflicts and crises in which it does not have a significant interest. “Strategic autonomy,” as Macron calls it, is his plan to lead Europe into becoming a “third superpower,” according to POLITICO.
“The paradox would be that, overcome with panic, we believe we are just America’s followers,” Macron said on Sunday. “The question Europeans need to answer … is it in our interest

Thus is just Macaroni admitting openly that NATO is just about the USA being Europe's 'female dog" and protecting them with no return help expected.

The USA ran the invaders out of France twice in the last century. They must not teach that in history classes in France.
General George Patton remarked that he would rather have two German divisions in front of him than a French division behind him.

I am not following Biden either, so I have nothing to say about Macron, except that the French are in the streets because of his policies. So why do the French keep electing him? Or is Macron using the same Nazi electoral procedures as the Democrats?

For quite a while I have been hoping that the Europeans would in essence kick the Yanks out of Europe. The European Union along with the United Kingdom have a greater population than the United States and in aggregate is just as rich. It can afford to handle its own security. Early in the Ukraine war France and Germany wanted to negotiate a settlement between Russia and Ukraine. The United States put a stop to that. It's disgraceful that these two countries complied but more disgraceful that our country pressured them.
There is not one Western European country that is as ill-run as our country. Voting integrity, fiscal prudence and the rule of the law no longer exist here. Our country exports the woke insanity, that is quickly destroying our cohesion, to other countries and the Europeans, especially the French, have had quite enough of that.
To those who harp on our aid to Europe during both World Wars as a rationale for Europe to join us in our self-immolation, should we have been subservient to France since without its aid, both financial and militarily, the Independence war would have ended with Britain victorious. After the way we scuttled from Afghanistan it is ridiculous to criticize any country for losing a war. I will always remember that when Kabul was evacuated the French, British and German soldiers went house to house delivering their citizens to the airport. Our troops were confined to the airport and our citizens had to make it to the airport on their own.

Regardless how one views the history or current stance of France, Russia, China, Europe or the United States the continued global hegemony with the US being its sole leader has ceased. This started well before Biden but has accelerated greatly with him as POTUS. The only way it can be reconstituted is through global war and that is the goal for many in DC and Europe. But even if that were successful it will never be as before. The question everyone now as to ask themselves and this includes everyone as well as countries is do you wish to sacrifice millions of lives to submit to the current character and ideaology of the United States. For the majority of the world the answer is No.

As others have said, Micron is taking the General DeGaulle approach of being a pain in the butt. If it were not for the USA, the UK, and Canada that landed their armies in Normandy on D Day to give France back to the French, France today is likely to have had a long history being annexed to Nazi Germany.

I seem to recall a certain president named Trump who told the EU that Uncle Sam's wallet was closing and they needed to pick up their own tabs. Boy my ears are still ringing from the screeching of the leaders of those nations.

Normandy U.S.WW II cemetary: 9400 identified bodies of our beautiful, brave youth. 1600 missing, courageous men too maimed in death to be identified, while fighting to free France
13 cemetaries across Europe: 89,033 of America's brave buried and memorialized.
Macron sickens me.

France and EU has too sold its economic soul to China. China has infiltrated France and Europe as it has in America. If not it is trying. The president is clueless or like our president has already been bought by the Chinese.
