A Texas trooper has warned Americans to rethink traveling to Mexico as three women vanish after crossing the border to sell clothes at a flee market, joining the more than 500 US citizens that are missing in the country.
Lieutenant Chris Olivarez, of the Texas Department of Public Safety, has issued a stark warning for American travelers as many gear up for Spring Break and plan trips to the popular travel destination.
'Our department is urging anyone traveling to Mexico, especially spring breakers, to avoid those areas, because right now it is too dangerous with the increase in violence and kidnappings in Mexico,'

And of course that piece of news never hits the mainstream media /s/ About 7 years ago we lived in AZ and had considered visiting Mexico but there was some incident and we decided not to. Now I would go there for any reason.

For those who like to travel to "thrill recreation" locations, North Korea,Yemen or Iran would be the ultimate choice, but if your budget doesn't allow travel to the other continent, Mexico is the convenient choice.

There are many, many bad places to go where you can find mortal danger. Mexico, Central America, parts of the Middle East, etc. There are still places in the US that are beautiful and safe if you like to travel. For how long that lasts, it will be up to American People to get rid of the Marxists running our current government. There are already major cities here that are mostly no-go for tourists. NYC, Chicago, Portland, SF, LA, Seattle Minneapolis, Atlanta.
Any tourist thinking about going to Mexico is trying for a Darwin Award.

Sundance over at The Conservative Treehouse has an interesting take on this. The US is trying to ramp up the psy-ops against Mexico, in order to force it to change its energy policy to be more in line with Build Back Better. IOW, no oil or gas.

Funny - - ain't it - - how black "activists" never uttered a peep about two blacks being muredered - - and two others being kidnapped in Mexico. No media coverage - - no demonstrations - - no riots.
And now - - three brown-skinned women have disappeared. Do you think the "women's" groups and the brown-skinned groups are going to say anything?
Crickets, anyone?

Life is hard, and it's much harder if you are stupid.
Anyone going intentionally into Mexico these days is proving that they are stupid.

The Denzel Washington movie "Man on Fire" was not strictly fiction...there are a LOT of kidnappings in Mexico, though until recently the RULE was...leave the american tourists alone. The kidnapper and drug Cartels had hard and fast policies about staying out of and away from the tourist hotspots and beach enclaves. Not anymore. In the bordertowns there were "entertainment/Shopping districts" where your biggest risk was pickpockets, and getting caught with drugs, too drunk, by the cops. Known as "Boystown" by the Texas locals, it was a "coming of Age" trip for highschool seniors or College kids. Tijuana got real bad....now all of the other border towns are as well. Even Cancun, Puerta Vallarta and Cozemel are no longer safe.

Remind me to stay the heck out of Mexico.....
Although with our Mexican (descent) governor and mostly Mexican (descent) legislature passing all their new leftist laws, my state is quickly catching up with Mexico for danger to its citizens and visitors.

Last time I was in Mexico 15 (?) years ago we took an excursion to Aztec ruins. On the way there we passed by multiple military check points with soldiers armed with automatic rifles. I can't imagine how much worse it is now. Not going to Mexico.

Call me crazy, but we need to send troops to Mexico. We have them all over Europe and other places and one of our biggest threats is right next door.

It matters where you go. My wife and I have been in Mexico City since yesterday with a Mexican family. They lived all their lives in the neighborhood and know exactly where to go and what to avoid.

Re #16.... "flea market" or drug market? I have no idea, but a lot of folks seeking drugs go into "bad neighborhoods" and get bad outcomes. I'll bet that at least some of the Americans going into Mexico these days are seeking drugs. I have no idea if these women were doing that, or were just entirely brainless.

With the crime problems in Mexico, traveling to Mexico for pleasure is about as smart as traveling to North Korea for pleasure.

Fruits of the open border. Cartels have gotten fat and powerful on all those migrant 'crossing fees' and are getting mean.
