Delaware Literally Lowers The Bar To Increase
Racial Diversity Of Lawyers, Judges

The Delaware Supreme Court literally lowered the bar this week by changing the grade needed to become a certified lawyer in The First State as part of its attempt to increase racial diversity among lawyers and judges. Yet, those responsible for the change insist that it has not lowered standards. Of course, certain barriers are put in place to keep unqualified people from doing very important jobs. Nonetheless, Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Collins J. Seitz Jr. said via a news release, “the bar exam is not supposed to be a barrier to entering the profession but is supposed to be a test of an applicant’s ability to successfully practice law

And the Black community thinks this will improve Black outcomes as defendants in criminal courts? And non-Black accused won't avoid a Black lawyer thinking he/she passed the bar exam only because they were Black?

Of course. Lowering grades required to become a lawyer has nothing whatsoever to do with lowering standards. We've known that all along. But it's more important that our lawyers look like the folks breaking the law. This will all work out just fine.

Quite interesting. Dumbing down the lawyers. I wonder how they will deal with the additional competition. I predict a new aphorism: "Dumber than a Delaware attorney.". Joe Biden is the prototype.

Maybe auditions should not be a barrier to joining the orchestra or getting a part in a play. Ditto for athletic tryouts at every level. Editors should welcome manuscripts from anyone wishing to publish a book. I think I would like to be appointed to the Deleware Supreme Court. May I just move there and get on the list?

That lowers the value of every lawyer's certificate. No more $400 an hour lawyers from law firms. More like $50 an hour lawyers hired from temporary contract agencies.

In case you have not noticed, something perverse and bizarre is happening in the United States of America right now. Last week's hearing and exchange between Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Attorney General Merrick Garland was telling. The progressive socialist left, as embodied in the Biden administration, and across the country, is purposefully and intentionally targeting those who profess, believe, and advocate on issues based upon their Judeo-Christian faith. In the exchange between Sen. Hawley and Garland was the recent revelation of the FBI's targeting and proposed designation of Catholics as “domestic terrorists.”

As Americans' awareness of threats from China increases — thanks to a spy balloon in our skies and a growing understanding of TikTok's influence — the U.S. officials are ringing the alarm about another potential avenue for malign interference in the United States from Beijing: cranes. (Snip) Some of these cranes are innocuous, but an estimated 80 percent of ship-to-shore cranes operating at U.S. ports are made by ZPMC, a China-based manufacturer, leading to rising concern among American defense and national security personnel that have compared the cranes to a "Trojan horse," according to an exclusive report in The Wall Street Journal.

Former CNN President Jeff Zucker ordered employees during then-President Donald J. Trump’s administration not to investigate the theory that the coronavirus pandemic was sparked by a lab leak in China, calling it a “Trump talking point,” according to a report. A “well-placed CNN Insider” told Fox News Digital that Zucker issued the directive in the early stages of the pandemic. On March 13, 2020, Harmeet Kauer, a “culture writer” for CNN, called the notion that the virus may have started in a laboratory a “fringe theory.” Her colleague, Scottie Andrew, on April 13, 2020, wrote an article entitled “Nearly 30% in the US believe a coronavirus theory that’s almost certainly not true”

Democrats have been running around like decapitated chickens ever since news broke that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Tucker Carlson unfettered access to surveillance footage from inside the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot by supporters of President Donald Trump. The Fox News host will air five stories culled from the footage Monday and Tuesday nights, countering the overblown “insurrection” narrative the Democrats and their media toadies have been pushing since Day One. The characterization of conservative Republicans as an “ultra-MAGA semi-fascist” menace to democracy was pushed by the partisan J6 committee and was the Democrats’ main sales pitch at the midterms last year.

The locations, located at the Delta Park and Eastport Plaza shopping centers in North and Southeast Portland, will shutter Friday, March 24, the retail colossus revealed in a statement this week. Walmart says they are closing the stores - which serve as a haven for low-income shoppers across the city - because they were not meeting financial expectations. That said, the closures serve as the latest instance of businesses relocating or closing shop altogether amid a pronounced rise in crime and homelessness.

Joe Biden will almost certainly not attend the coronation of King Charles III. The official reason is that he is making a trip to Ireland that simply can’t be canceled. The media have focused on two reasons he won’t be there: (1) Eisenhower didn’t attend so there’s no tradition for presidents to attend, and (2) Biden hates the British. I think there are two more likely reasons: (1) Charles III’s coronation is an event without cachet, and (2) it’s impossible for Biden to withstand the rigors of the long coronation ceremony and any pre- and post-ceremony events. Indeed, my money is on the last reason being the real reason.
