Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) said Saturday on MSNBC’s “Ayman” that some of the so-called right-wing conservatives in the House of Representatives were “domestic terrorists.” Anchor Ayman Mohyeldin said, “I know that politicians tried to sound optimistic as much as they can but right now, with the leadership that we see in the House, is there any path forward for police reform in Congress after this later on tragic killing?” Waters said, “It is the Marjorie Taylor Greene Republican caucus. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) outlined an optimistic vision for the U.S. and the Republican party in a speech on Wednesday in Iowa as he continues to weigh a 2024 White House bid with trips through early primary and caucus states.

The Y-12 National Security Complex outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, had a busy day on Wednesday after a fire broke out in one of its production buildings shortly after 9:00 a.m. local time. (Tweets) Local media reported that the production affected was "Building 9212, a uranium procession facility." That is, the kind of place a fire is not ideal. (Tweet) Local reports also noted that the building involved in the incident "was constructed in 1945 and has undergone multiple renovations and repairs over time."
By early afternoon, Y-12 officials gave the all-clear and reported that normal operations were continuing.

The hosts of ABC’s midday talk show “The View” — including new Republican co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin — were all in agreement on Wednesday when they attacked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for giving thousands of hours of January 6 footage to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The women on the panel voiced their concerns — ranging from complaints about the fact that Carlson works for Fox News to worries that anyone releasing the footage could give potential terrorists access to information about Capitol security.

Last month, I wrote about how House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced he was open to releasing all the security footage from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, all 14,000 hours of it, which Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) never wanted to release in the presentation of their political narrative during their witch hunt Jan. 6 Committee proceedings.
Now, the reports are that he’s made good on that and released 14,000 hours to Tucker Carlson and his crew, that they’re reviewing it, and that there may be even more footage. Carlson said there was never any valid reason to withhold this footage and that it would begin airing in the coming weeks.

Nonprofit research organization Wirepoint has looked into Illinois public schools, and their performance deserves less than an “A+.” Among more than 30 institutions of learning, zero students can read at their respective grade levels.
As for math, across 53 schools, no students are proficient.
The bulk of those underperforming campuses — twenty-two in the case of reading and thirty-three in the case of math — sit within the City of Chicago School District — where taxpayers annually spend between $5,929 and $56,311 per student.
