Justice Gorsuch Leaves CO Solicitor General
Stammering During Oral Arguments on Religious Liberty

Original Article

Amidst all the rightful focus on government censorship and election interference, another major story is brewing over at the Supreme Court. On Monday, the Justices heard oral arguments in a case centering on a web designer who has religious objections to making websites for same-sex couples. Naturally, Lorie Smith, who runs a company called 303 Creative, is based in Colorado. That state has become ground zero for religious liberty cases, made infamous by its persecution of cake baker Jack Phillips. During oral argument, the conservative justices seemed to lean toward siding with Smith, who has asserted that it violates her religious beliefs to be forced to make websites for gay marriages.

While the SC is engaged in determining the constitutionality of the law the government council are busy promoting the gay agenda. Quiz question of the day. Who is doing their actual job and who is violating this web designer’s rights by applying their woke agenda on others?

Do the websites feature a penis - a detail never reported by the media in the case of the cake maker? And wasn't it decided in that case that a creator (i.e., cake designer or web designer) cannot be forced to create something with which he disagrees? Big difference from refusing to sell an in-stock item because you don't agree with a customer's morals.

There are plenty of bakers and web designers who would acceot their business And, surely there must be LBXYZ businesses the complainants could utilize for gay community support. This is clearly a case for establishing anti-Religious precedent and is unconstitutional government harassment. The CO Governor and Attorney General should be held liable for an attempt to deny Constitutional rights.Else it will continue to occur.

The attorney representing 303 Creative was excellent throughout the oral arguments. It was interesting that the justices asked her questions regarding whether the speech at issue had to be based on religious beliefs? Her answer was "No" (with addition precise, focused elaboration), This is refreshing because too many of the SC's free speech opinions suggest or imply that religious beliefs are entitled to more protection than other honest beliefs not based on religion. I reject any such distinction because religious individuals should not enjoy MORE FREE SPEECH than non-religious individuals. This case was about authorship of wedding announcements that are customized for each customer. The Plaintiff objected to being forced (by a Colorado statute) to write wedding announcements whereby the readers may conclude that the author was OK with same sex marriages. Her objection had nothing to do with anything other than same sex marriages.

Anyone should be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Period. If that is so abhorrent to the community, then consumers will vote with their wallets and feet and go elsewhere. The "offending" business gets punished by lost business if its behavior is so egregious..

Back at the turn of the century (gah, I didn't like the sound of that), I was approached by a guy who had purchased a three story building down in the warehouse section of Phx. He had done some major remodels to turn what once was the Az. Dept. of Agriculture into a One Stop Porno shop without the benefit of any permits. It was a great set-up for truckers. First floor was dirty books and toys along with "private' tv arcade, a bank of p.o boxes, a laundromat and restrooms. Second floor was a theater for straights and one for gays, the counting offices and surveillance and storage. Third floor was a lingerie bar with pool tables and near nekkid women. The goal was to get a 50 year old building up to code and within life safety requirements for a multi-use structure. My regular MP&E engineers would not even consider giving me a proposal for services. I was always up front with anybody regarding what this project would entail. We finally got the permits, but they made sure the owner paid dearly for improvements. I guess the whole thing boils down to the fact that people can't make you do what you would rather not do...you end up charging the client out the wazoo, getting an inferior result, or both.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the January 6 House Select Committee issuing a criminal referral for former President Donald Trump and others was not a political statement. Partial transcript as follows: MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about democracy here at home. As we mentioned, you are on that January 6 committee and I understand you have a meeting today. Chairman Thompson had said at 1pm, there’s going to be a sort of report passed from one group to the main committee about criminal referrals. Reportedly on that list, former President Trump, former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani,

The Kentucky GOP senator brought up the prospect after new Twitter CEO Elon Musk called for the prosecution of Fauci in a tweet that poked fun at people declaring their pronouns. 'My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,' Musk wrote early Sunday morning. Fauci announced in August that he would be stepping down from his post in December 'to pursue the next chapter' of his career.

Thousands of New York City police officers have ditched the country's biggest police force and fled to other states for higher salaries. Police department recruiters from other states, including Florida and Colorado have rushed to the Big Apple to persuade some of the city's 34,000 officers into relocating in exchange for higher pay and better work environments. The retention rate among NYPD officers is rocky, especially since 1,225 officers have resigned through November before reaching five years at the police force, according to the New York Times. About 3,200 total have left this year, including retirees.

Hundreds of workers are expected to be laid off when automaker Stellantis closes an assembly plant in northern Illinois early next year, citing the challenge of rising costs of electric vehicle production. The company, which employs about 1,350 workers at the plant in Belvidere, Illinois, said the action will result in indefinite layoffs and it may not resume operations as it considers other options.  Stellantis said the industry 'has been adversely affected by a multitude of factors like the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the global microchip shortage, but the most impactful challenge is the increasing cost related to the electrification of the automotive market.'

Two-million-year-old DNA from northern Greenland has revealed that the region was once home to mastodons, lemmings and geese, offering unprecedented insights into how climate change can shape ecosystems. The breakthrough in ancient DNA analysis pushes back the DNA record by 1m years to a time when the Arctic region was 11-19C warmer than the present day. The analysis reveals that the northern peninsula of Greenland, now a polar desert, once featured boreal forests of poplar and birch trees teeming with wildlife. The work offers clues to how species might adapt,
