Whoopi Goldberg has quit Twitter - and becomes the latest woke celeb to leave since Elon Musk’s takeover. Goldberg, 66, closed her account following a monologue on the The View in which said the social media platform was a ‘mess’. Her departure came hours after supermodel Gigi Hadid deactivated her profile and moaned Twitter has become ‘more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry’. They join a string of other high-profile, and left-leaning, figures who’ve said they’ll quit

I fully expect that these whiners will leave and then sneak back. Twitter is too much of a measure of their worth to not be a part of it. I have no reason to have a Twitter account but I’ve thought of joining just so I can stir things up. I’m glad that I have more important things to do than that.

What exactly has changed about Twitter that has suddenly changed it into a "cesspool of hate and bigotry" and a mess? Twitter was always a potential "mess", depending on the subject being discussed. And as for hate and bigotry: I usually see hate directed towards those disagreeing with liberal positions. Bigotry is in the eye of the beholder. Goldberg and Hadid both see bigotry everywhere. The need a better class of followers and to come out of their sheltered Hollywood pampered life and stop being so offended by people who disagree with them.

Excellent. Twitter is cleaning/self-cleaning out the trash and sewage. Keep it up Elon, you are doing the right thing. I think you are doing the right thing about charging $8 a month for the verified as well. New York Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis sailed to victory in her rematch against former Democratic Rep. Max Rose. Malliotakis had ousted Rose, a decorated ex-Army officer, in 2020 after he served just a single term, and was able to hold onto the seat. Albany Democrats had tried to unseat Malliotakis with redrawn congressional lines that would have added liberal parts of Brooklyn – including Park Slope – to her conservative, majority Staten Island 11th district.

The governor’s race highlighted issues like school safety, gun laws, border security and abortion in light of recent events in the state.

Supporters of the initiative argue that at 16, young people are able to work and pay taxes, therefore they have a right to vote.
