Army secretary responds to widespread

Army Secretary Christine Wormuth joined other military leaders for a speaking event on Monday in which she defended the branch’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, and then laughably claimed she doesn’t know what “woke” means. “We get criticized, frankly, sometimes for being ‘woke,'” Wormuth said. “I’m not sure what ‘woke’ means. I think ‘woke’ means a lot of different things to different people.” “But, first of all, if ‘woke’ means we are not focused on warfighting, we are not focused on readiness, that doesn’t reflect what I see at installations all around the country or overseas when I go and visit,” the secretary argued, according to Fox News.

Is she going to hand out goody bags when each soldier leaves the Army like they were at a wedding reception or birthday party? They’re in the United States ARMY, Christine. That is what their identity is. Feeling a sense of inclusion in the Army is supposed come from soldiers taking pride in the military accomplishments of their unit, not pride in their racial identity or in the lives they led before they joined up.

And THAT is why recruiting efforts will continue to falter. THAT is not leadership. You are trying to attract young people to be willing to fight and possibly die for our ideals. But you've spent decades telling them our country and her ideals are NOT worth it. Today's Army has little to attract Warriors. Anyone needing free (expensive) gender reassignment surgery - well, the poofters are all in.

I was chatting with our commander one day, a bit annoyed that we had a big combat readiness inspection coming up that threw my whole section off its routine and making a lot of regular work late while doing useless work. His words were among the wisest I ever heard in the military. "We'll give these monkeys their dog and pony show and then get back to what we do." She got dog and pony shows.

Green Line riders passing by Washington Park this weekend should look for a bustle of activity down below. Several vacant lots around Prairie Avenue and 53rd Street are being turned over on Saturday and 100,000 red tulip bulbs will be planted. Late this week, there were stakes in place, outlining where the bulbs will go. From ground level, it’s hard to tell, but seen from the L, it becomes apparent the tulips are being planted with a bigger picture in mind. “We’re planting the tulips in the shape of houses that should exist,” said Amanda Williams, the artist behind the project.

Queens is taking the largest share of migrants into emergency shelters set up by the city — fueling what the borough’s president on Thursday called a “powder keg” of crises and creating a “recipe for a social and economic disaster.” Queens was housing 4,782 migrants, or 32% of the total 14,777 placed in emergency shelters as of Wednesday, according to data compiled by the Department of Homeless Services and obtained by The Post on Thursday. That share is more than one-sixth greater than the 27.3% that Queens residents contribute to the city’s total population, according to 2020 census data. “It’s a powder keg in Queens at this point,”
