Experts have warned that Joe Biden's deal to give rail workers a pay increase to avoid major shutdowns on Friday could lead to more large settlements in the future.
The Biden administration reached a tentative deal on Thursday to raise rail employees' salaries by 24 percent, but labor experts say the deal could embolden future strikers.
'This is a very, very contentious time,' Michael Lotito, co-chairman of the Workplace Policy Institute at Littler, told the Wall Street Journal. 'I think that is going to embolden unions to ask for more.'

FTA: ''The tentative agreement was reached with multiple unions that represent about 60,000 employees of the nation's private freight railroad companies, meaning the lump sum payment alone will cost the companies some $660 million.''
Cost the companies $660 million??? Damned nice of them to pick up the tab. Here I was thinking they would pass the increases onto the consumers. s/o. I also saw somewhere the unions got millions from bidens build back better garbage to repay their retirement systems that somehow are next to broke.

The labor unions are getting very active with Biden's Sec of Labor all for it. There are organizing efforts in my neighborhood. Many of the workers are so stupid that are voting to join. Instead of 3-5% deductions from their paychecks for union leaders, the workers could be putting that in their 401K's with an employer match in many cases.

This is why you can't allow public unions. Politicians have no incentive to negotiate in a hard-ball manner (It's not their money!) and every incentive to give them anything they want.

joe wants Americans out of their cars and totally dependent on union transportation workers who can and will write their own tickets to riches.
If cars are done away with, these union bus drivers, mechanics and train workers can hold the nation's entire economy hostage whenever they want.

That big pay raise to the union will come back many times over in campaign donations. Money laundering the Old fashioned way. In your face and in broad daylight.

He is incapable of following his actions to their logical conclusions or foresee the repercussions of his actions. Everything is done as he flys by the seat of his pants, doing what will get him thru that moment never giving a thought to the logical consequences because everything he does is a reaction, not thought out carefully. Band aids on major bleed outs.

Unions are socialists or legalized gangstas. Unlike in the old days, extortion and disruptions become their trades.

If it's a 3 year deal, with all the inflation that Biden has put in the pipeline, they'll only break even.

If our benevolent government can toss trillions of our tax dollars to foreign countries, then they can give American railway workers a raise. A big raise.

Democrats can only see one step at a time. That’s why consequences trip them up. They are unfamiliar with the axiom that actions have consequences.

Quit saying Biden did it. He is not running the government. The group in the background makes the decisions and their goal it to destroy our country and take it over.
