The Illusion That Democrats Are Making

You might have noticed in the last couple of weeks that there’s been a concerted effort to portray the political landscape in the best possible light for Democrats. Things really aren’t that bad. Or are they? It’s a mirage, as Washington Examiner’s David Drucker tweeted last week. It’s little more than wishful thinking to say that Democrats’ chances of staving off disaster in November are improving — except among the political class. There, it’s becoming the gospel. Gas prices are falling! Abortion! Abortion! GOP Senate candidates are weak and/or in trouble! Democrats are outraising Republicans by a wide margin! And don’t forget the January 6 hearings! Democrats don't have to make the elections more competitive, the Republican "party of stupid" will do that for them.

Democrats are trying to convince all the low-info voters they have a shot at winning so when they "win" it won't look like another duplicitous election.

As I posted elsewhere today, the 4 House seats that could be flipped are in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, and voter fraud will allow the dimocrats to hold those seats. The one sear campaign.t the republicans could gain is that seat vacated by Connor Lamb, in Souithwestern Pennsylvania. Bit the republicans have to energize their efforts.

Never, ever underestimate the ability of the national Republican party (RINOs) to screw up a sure thing. My HS History teacher gave me that lesson 50 years ago and it still rings true today.

If the dems are confident, the word must be out that they've found another sure-fire way to commit election fraud.

WH Delivers More Confusion About Biden's
COVID Symptoms

Joe Biden was diagnosed with COVID on July 21. He had negative tests last week, but then tested positive again on Saturday. Both his doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and Joe Biden himself said he had no reemergence of symptoms. Here’s the doctor’s letter from July 30. In further letters on July 31 and August 1, the doctor didn’t mention any symptoms but mentioned he would inform people if there were any changes in his condition. But then on Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden had no “reoccurring symptoms” and then in the next breath suggested he had lingering symptoms.

CNN's new CEO, Chris Licht, has been attending to an audience neglected by the network for the past several years: Republican lawmakers. The network boss camped out in mid-July in a room on the first floor of the Senate side of the Capitol, S-120, where he asked GOP lawmakers to come talk with him privately. That arrangement avoided alerting the reporters who stalk the halls of the Capitol, sources said, and accommodated Republican lawmakers who preferred not to be seen hobnobbing with him. Licht's message, according to one of the lawmakers who sat down with him as well as to several sources briefed on the exchanges: "We want to win

FNC anchor Bret Baier said Monday on Fox News Channel’s “The Five” that President Joe Biden has had a “couple of good weeks” because the U.S. military killed Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri. He also included Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), agreeing to a deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on a massive tax and climate package. Baier said, “We can confirm from two intelligence sources that al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has been killed by a CIA drone strike in Afghanistan over the weekend. And that is what President Biden will announce from the White House tonight at 7:30 Eastern Time.”

Warner Bros. Discovery is heading into a very important week. The company, whose regime just crossed the 100-days-in-office mark, reports its Q2 earnings Thursday, when CEO David Zaslav and his team are expected to lay out more concrete plans for the combined entity than they did on the Q1 earnings call, held just a couple of weeks after the $43 billion Discovery-WarnerMedia merger had been completed. That could include more details about how the two companies’ streaming services, HBO Max and Discovery+, would be combined and under what name; about the company’s theatrical-streaming film strategy; and how a promised $3 billion in savings

The United States killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahri in a drone strike over the weekend, three people briefed on the operation told POLITICO. The strike was conducted by the CIA, according to two of the people, with one saying it took place in Kabul. Al-Zawahri was an Egyptian who took over Al-Qaeda after the U.S. killed its longtime leader, Osama bin Laden, in 2011. He never achieved the household name status of his predecessor, but Al-Zawahri’s killing is nonetheless a major win for the United States in the ongoing struggle against Islamist terrorism, especially as the United Nations warns that the terrorist group is outpacing its peers

A federal judge on Monday sentenced a Texas man, who brought a gun to the January 6 Capitol riot, to 7.25 years in prison. Guy Reffit, a member of the far-right militia group the Texas Three Percenters, received the punishment, the longest sentence for an individual involved in January 6 to date, after the judge denied the Justice Department’s request for a “terrorism enhancement” that would have yielded more prison time. In March, Reffitt was found guilty of five criminal counts, including obstructing the certification of the 2020 election results for Joe Biden and transporting a firearm to stir civil unrest. He did not inflict physical violence

In 2016, the Obama administration’s Department of Health and Human Services issued a rule that would have forced doctors across the country to assist in transitioning patients out of their biological sex, regardless of a provider’s medical opinion or conscience objections. “A provider specializing in gynecological services that previously declined to provide a medically necessary hysterectomy for a transgender man,” for example, “would have to revise its policy to provide the procedure for transgender individuals in the same manner it provides the procedure for other individuals.” The rule left no room for religious physicians or institutions to breathe, instead menacing them

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to visit Taiwan as part of her tour of Asia, according to a senior Taiwanese government official and a US official, despite warnings from Biden administration officials, who are worried about China's response to such a high-profile visit. The stop -- the first for a US House speaker in 25 years -- is not currently on Pelosi's public itinerary and comes at a time when US-China relations are already at a low point. The Taiwanese official added that she is expected to stay in Taiwan overnight. It is unclear when exactly Pelosi will land in Taipei. The US official added that

Some officials on President Joe Biden’s National Security Council (NSC) are privately warning that an end to former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” program at the United States-Mexico border will spur a flood of illegal immigration. In June, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that the Biden administration can end the Remain in Mexico program but also sent the issue back to lower courts. Following the decision, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas vowed to end the program when the agency is legally allowed to do so. Some NSC officials, who spoke anonymously to the Wall Street Journal, said they are privately warning administration officials that ending

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) hit the Sunday shows, trying to convince people that his deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was a good thing. But as we’ve previously explained, slapping the name “Inflation Reduction Act” on it doesn’t mean that it reduces inflation. Indeed, as the Penn-Wharton Budget Model explained, it does no such thing. It even raises inflation in the first couple of years. But there’s another problem with it, and that’s what Fox’s Bret Baier tried to get at when he was questioning Manchin on his show — that it’s going to raise taxes. Manchin tried to insist it did not.

Is the Democrat Party on the rebound heading into November’s mid-term elections? If the latest CBS News poll is any indication, the answer is a resounding “no.” Despite proclamations that Joe Biden is “back in the game” and that the left is enjoying a bump following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the survey provides red flag after red flag for Democrats. And while the CBS News shows have spent Sunday morning trying their hardest to spin the findings by focusing heavily on female opposition to Republicans over abortion, even that “good news” for Democrats is tempered by a lack of enthusiasm.

FBI Director Christopher Wray always seems a little too pleased with himself. But on Thursday the smirk may be wiped off his pretty face when Republican members of the House oversight committee start grilling him on the mounting evidence that something is very rotten inside the agency Wray runs. Top of the list is the curious question of why the FBI apparently did nothing with Hunter Biden’s laptop, which was handed to two agents on Dec. 9, 2019, by John Paul Mac Isaac, the alarmed owner of the computer repair shop near the Biden family homes in Greenville, Del., where Hunter had dropped off his MacBook eight months earlier.  CORRECTION*
