Rapper Roddy Ricch performed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam on Sunday—when he led the crowd in a “F–k the NYPD” chant just hours after gun possession charges against him were dropped in Queens. The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Rodrick Moore, had been busted at a security checkpoint outside the Governors Ball festival at Citi Field on Saturday night after a security guard found a loaded Canik 9mm stashed under the front passenger seat of the black 2020 Cadillac Escalade he was in. A large-capacity magazine that contained nine rounds of ammunition was also found, police sources said. Moore, 23, was arrested along with

FTA: “A large-capacity magazine that contained nine rounds of ammunition was also found, police sources said.” Nine rounds is STANDARD capacity in that pistol. Standard; NOT “large-capacity”. These “journalists” are either stupid or, more likely, willfully ignorant of everything to do with firearms. Morons.

More than half of all Americans think it's 'likely' that America will 'cease to be a democracy,' a new poll found. The Yahoo News/YouGov poll shows that 55% of Democrats and 53% of Republicans share that belief in a stunning sign of pessimism about the country's future. Additionally the poll found that a majority of Republicans—52%—say it's likely that 'there will be a civil war in the United States in [their] lifetime' while half of independents—50%—and a plurality of Democrats—46%—agree.(Snip)Members of both parties picked negative phrases to describe the person across the political aisle.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called on oil companies to produce more oil and gas products as a 'patriotic duty' to counter rising prices amid Russia's war on Ukraine. Her message came after President Joe Biden accused big oil companies of seeing their profit margin triple on refining, amid global energy shortages and record gas prices. 'We see it as a patriotic duty ... as we've talked about, there's war happening right now. That was caused by Russia, which is why we're seeing these hikes in gas prices, especially since since Russia has amassed, started amassing troops, on the border [of Ukraine], she said.

President Biden marked Pride Month Wednesday by ordering federal agencies to craft “inclusive” school and foster-parent policies—while slamming states he accused of trying to curb medical options for transgender minors. Biden struggled to say LGBTQI+—saying “LGBTQL, I, excuse me, plus”—at the White House event that was so crowded that he encouraged attendees to “just sort of lean against one another” in lieu of sitting down.(Snip)The order charges the Department of Health and Human Services with “working with States on expanding access to gender-affirming care”— though it was not immediately clear if the agency would directly challenge GOP-led state governments that are pursuing restrictions.

Covid vaccines for the youngest Americans could be rolled out in a matter of days after the Food and Drug Administration recommended approving both the Moderna and Pfizer shots, despite some experts warning that they are not needed for children under the age of five. On Wednesday, members of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee convened debated whether the benefits of Moderna and Pfizer outweigh the risks for America's 18million under-5s.(Snip)Some scientists have warned that children between the ages of six months and five years old face a vanishingly small risk of dying from Covid and that there is little demand for the shots.

President Biden's Energy Department has proposed a new rule that would require homeowners looking to buy a new furnace to install a 95 percent energy-efficient one within the next seven years. The new rule would require that gas-burning residential furnaces be condensing gas furnaces, which reuse gas and water vapor that normal noncondensing furnaces vent into the atmosphere. It would require that all gas-burning furnaces on the market to be switched over by 2029.(Snip)The Department of Energy (DOE) estimates that the new furnaces will save households about $60 per year, a number that totals $30.3 billion over the next 30 years.

What exactly is “white supremacy”? People these days seem to have their own definition for this ever-present phrase, molding it into whatever suits their particular agenda. Since it appears to be fluid, I’d like to present another definition. White supremacy is a belief system that holds black people as continuous victims in a white-majority society, deeming them incapable without the benevolence of white people or the government and constantly portraying them as impoverished, weak-willed, overly emotional, mentally fragile and without fortitude. It fuels the idea that black people constantly need a helping hand because they will always be marginalized and incapable of doing for themselves otherwise.

John Kerry, who is the U.S. special presidential envoy for climate, stated at a recent event at the University of Southern California that the country does not need to put more effort into drilling for oil and gas as energy costs continue to rise. The most obvious sign of the increase in energy costs has been at gas stations, where the national average now stands at $5.01 per gallon, but utility bills are also expected to increase this summer. Republicans in Congress have called for more domestic production to increase the supply of oil in order to reduce the cost.
