More than half of vaccinated adults who haven’t gotten a COVID-19 booster shot say the omicron threat makes them more likely to go get an extra dose, according to a poll released Tuesday that found the variant is having a smaller impact on unvaccinated persons mulling a first dose. The Kaiser Family Foundation found that 54% of vaccinated adults said the fast-moving strain is pushing them toward getting a booster versus 46% who said it doesn’t have an impact on their decision. “Omicron’s emergence appears to be having a much smaller, but not insignificant, effect on unvaccinated adults,” with 12% of unvaccinated persons saying they are more likely

Some fiction writer is making up all these polls. I refuse to believe we have that many stupid people in this country.

After having two initial vaccine doses Jan 2020, I have decided that I will take my chances with the much-less virulent Omicron and get natural immunity.

I'm double-vaxxed but not boosted. Seems to me Omicron is more of a reason to not worry about Covid. While I'm not out licking doorknobs and don't enjoy being sick, if I get it, I get it. I will then have broader-based immunity which will hopefully protect better against future variants than the very narrowly targeted vaccines that pretty obviously don't work against Omicron anyway. Just ask Fauxcahontas.

I wish it were not true, but the poll results are consistent with the behavior of those I am familiar with.
I am vaccinated, but will not get the booster.

….And the totally unvaccinated see it as one more compelling reason to continue avoiding the vax altogether.

I suspect the poll is accurate. I can't count the number of friends and aquaintences who've dutifully lined up for a booster without even questioning whether it is effective - it boggles my mind how many sheep I know. One even told me, "I was at the grocery store and they were giving them and there was no line......."

The unvaccinated think they should get an extra dose? They have never got a vaccine in the first place so how can they get an extra dose? There is a contradiction in that statement somewhere.
Want to avoid getting COVID? Don't get tested. If you come down with something, it will just be a bug.
It is clear the vaccine is inadequate. Why are so many dying after getting the vaccine and the booster? Why are so many getting infected? Why are the death rate and infection rate higher in 2021 than 2020 after 200 million people have been vaccinated? It does not work!
Been wondering about herd immunity. How many people in the US have contracted COVID? The number I was 146 million or nearly half the population. Between herd immunity and the vaccine, the infection rate should be way down, but it's not. Does COVID produce a herd immunity?
Best way forward? Take whatever precautions you deem fit and move on with your life. If you catch COVID, deal with it. Isn't the flu a coronavirus? It does not have a herd immunity because it constantly changes.
Can we get on with our lives now?

Are there really that many suckers still out there?
Doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting a different outcome. Literally insane.

And that would be hubby and me, #10. Had Covid last January, we were sick 2 1/2 weeks, have been we’ll ever since, have not been worried one bit, about the virus, and will never get shots or a stupid booster.
