CNN’s Jake Tapper confronted Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on why he didn’t appoint a subordinate to oversee the department while he was on paternity leave. Buttigieg spoke to Tapper on State of the Union, where he fielded questions about the country’s supply chain crises and the Biden administration’s attempts to get their stalled infrastructure agenda through Congress. At one point in the conversation, Tapper asked Buttigieg to respond to the mockery he has drawn from Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and others for taking leave after he and his husband, Chasten, announced the birth of their adopted twins. He compliments his deputy for doing a good job (wrong) and says that, because he was so important, he was available for phone calls, etc., etc. That may have worked for the mayor of a very small city, but it just won’t work in your job. Resign. Go home and be whatever passes for a mother in your lexicon. Clue: It’s a lot more than stuffing a bottle in a baby’s mouth. You and your husband clearly didn’t know what you were getting into.. If you planned it ahead, you should have chosen which job you were going to focus on. Resign, Petey.

Wow! Jake asking a question only conservative ask. What has happened? Is Pete the wife. He keeps referring to his husband. Tell him that wives have been taking care of twins forever without much help from their husbands. Not only do they feed the babies, but they also cook and clean the house and do the laundry, and take the babies to the doctor but they often also work. He is taking advantage of the new system. He didn't even have to carry them for 9 months and give birth the old fashioned way. How would he have felt if the actual woman who gave birth to them had decided to abort them the day before they were born. You know, when they were just fetuses to be thrown away. Just asking!

None of them are talking about the real reason for the bottleneck at the California ports; lack of trucks to move trailers off the ports. Due to new California environmental regulations, most trucks over three years old are not allowed to run in the state. No matter how fast they unload the ships, the trailers are only going to keep backing up on the ports.

Unless they have two-husband couples, Pete refers to Chasten as his “husband”. I don’t believe he can quite get to the level of consciousness that would call himself the “wife”.

More air in that bag of chips? Fewer flakes in your cereal box? You're not imagining it: "Shrinkflation," a tactic used by industry to hide price increases, is back in vogue. Nearly a year has passed since the 2020 election, yet there has not been a clear, satisfactory answer to the central mystery: How did a dull, declining Joe Biden manage to get more than 81 million votes and win the presidency? After all, Biden spent most of the pandemic-laced campaign in his Delaware basement and his appearances were marked by sparse crowds and signs he had lost more than a step. Yet he flipped five states Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, including Georgia and Arizona, and racked up 306 electoral votes to Donald Trump’s 232.
