‘City of the Walking Dead:’ Junkies

The Garment District is Gotham’s newest shooting gallery, a disturbing heroin hotspot of addicts booting up in broad daylight. The outgoing de Blasio administration appears unwilling or unable to address the crisis, as the quality-of-life disaster unfolds just steps from high-profile Midtown landmarks such as Macy’s, Madison Square Garden and the sparkling new Moynihan Train Hall. The block bordered by 35th and 36th streets, and Seventh and Eighth Avenues, is “littered with used needles, broken glass crack pipes, trash, urine, and feces” as junkies shoot up and dealers brazenly sell drugs, lamented one neighbor on social media. “I’ve personally seen dozens of deals go down.

Nice prosperous society you got there. Be a real shame if someone got it hooked on Marxism and turned it into a third world hellhole.

I don't really care about NYC EXCEPT that what happens there has a nasty habit of coming right up the river. Like the middle east, build a fence around it, keep them contained, & let them have at it. Hey, I can dream too!

Until Covid hit and people stopped meeting face to face, I made fairly regular trips to NYC to scout/plan VIP events for fortune 100 executives flying in from the West, in my hat/boots I "stood out" a bit, people treated me the way they did Croc Dundee in the movies, even took pictures. Doormen, Cops, even the panhandling bums on the street came to recognize me and were as friendly as can be. "Polite" too. Maybe the Next mayor of NYC will hire a bunch of cowboys to help him "Fix" the place.

“It is absolutely critical that our elected officials take action immediately to remove these individuals from the streets and ensure the safety of all residents, employees and visitors as we work to rebuild New York City following the pandemic,” Blair said. “This change is long overdue.” The problems in NYC just like San Francisco are not due to the pandemic. The problems in both of these cities are due to Democrat leadership. It is truly horrific to see this happening to our fellow citizens. Both NYC and SF need better leadership from their mayors but also both states are deteriorating because of Dem governors
