Intersections of Injustice

Original Article

Pamela Owensby woke up every day for three years fearing her son would be shot. Her 23-year-old, Sircarr Johnson Jr., had opened a clothing store on West Philadelphia’s 60th Street in 2018. Because of ongoing violence in the neighborhood, she became licensed to carry a gun and accompanied him at closing time. This spring, she even researched life insurance for each of her four sons—the youngest of whom is 9. But before she could fill out the paperwork, Johnson was killed in front of his store.(Snip)The overlap of so many of these injustices in communities of color has roots dating back generations.

According to this lengthy article, black and brown people think it's a real drag living with bLACK people, and it's all the fault of WHITE people, who thanks to systemic privilege live in functioning neighborhoods with minimal crime, except that caused by free-ranging residents of the so-called blighted areas. Going by this logic, pretzels are the snack of choice in the Inquirer's pressroom.

The black’s problems are because of the whites who were smart enough to move out of that hell hole? Yeah. right. That kind of thinking will really help out.

Culture. Current Black culture in these neighborhoods accepts this unfortunate way of life. They sum it up to racism, being poor, and no opportunity. But it all comes down to the culture where where killing, drugs, crime, being poor, and death are just accepted as everyday things. Until thug vulture is no longer acceptable, nothing will change.

The Dem party has convinced the black community that, as victims, they can do whatever they want and it is someone else's fault.

The article blames the neighborhood blight on banks “redlining.” The blight was the cause of redlining, not the effect. Banks redlined because, just as the mother in the article felt the inevitability of her son being shot, the inevitability of people in those neighborhoods not paying their loans was too high. The risk was too great.

Looks like these areas should have more cops, more policing and there should be more arrests and sentences passed out. So, they're doing what?

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced a visit Monday to Del Rio, Texas, where a camp of thousands of illegal immigrants has sprung up, puncturing the Biden administration’s claims of border security. His visit comes as his department announced a series of get-tough steps, including promises of faster deportations, to try to clear out the throng of mostly Haitian immigrants who crossed the Rio Grande and established the beachhead in the U.S. In an unsigned statement over the weekend, the department also said it was negotiating with other countries where the Haitians last lived to try to get them to take back the new arrivals.

Atlanta—On a warm September afternoon, Mona Scott sat on the front porch while her home baked like an oven. As she ran a frozen water bottle across her forehead and arms, Scott told CNN her air conditioning broke 10 days earlier and had not yet been fixed. "The windows are painted shut," Scott said. Chris Suggs flashed his million-dollar smile. Of course the boys could have something to drink on this hot, muggy day in Eastern North Carolina. But it was going to be a fruit juice pouch, not a soda or other sugary drink they could get at the corner store. Noor Inayat Khan, a British Muslim woman who was the first female radio espionage operator infiltrated into Nazi-occupied France during the Second World War, is about to get her 17 minutes of fame. The little-known story of Ms. Khan, executed at the Dachau concentration camp, will premiere at a Los Angeles cinema on Friday. Though offered evacuation from Paris when her espionage network collapsed, Ms. Khan chose to stay and transmit information to Britain’s Special Operations Executive, a secret British force sometimes called “Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” The 17-minute short film “Liberté,” which takes its name from the spy’s reported last word,

Anal sex became the surprise agenda item at a school board meeting in Texas after a mother chastised educators for stocking a sexually explicit book in school libraries. Wednesday’s dreary Lake Travis Independent School District board meeting about its finances and coronavirus response took a shock turn when incensed local mother Kara Bell took to the lectern to read a racy extract from a book found on middle school shelves. Bell was aggrieved that a passage from the 2015 young adult novel “Out of Darkness” by Ashley Hope Pérez depicted “cornholing,” which she later found out was a euphemism for anal sex.(Snip)The mother’s microphone was switched off,

Israel's former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested in a Facebook video posted on Sunday that US President Joe Biden had fallen asleep when meeting the new Israeli leader Naftali Bennett last month. Social media users shared a video clip of the US president that they said showed him looking down and nodding off as Bennett spoke in the Oval Office. Biden was awake but his response was cropped from the video, leading viewers to think the President was having a 'senile' moment during his first meeting seeking to reset US-Israeli relations over Iran's nuclear advances.

The White House is concerned that the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in New York, which kicked off last week, could be a COVID-19 superspreader event. 'We are concerned about the U.N. event being a superspreader event, and that we need to take all measures to ensure that it does not become a superspreader event,' President Joe Biden's Ambassador to the U.N. Linda Thomas-Greenfield said during a press conference Friday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said capitalism isn’t serving the U.S. as it should. On Friday at the Chatham House in London, the Democrat explained how the U.S. economy hasn’t benefited from capitalism. She insisted the U.S. can’t have a system that benefits some by depending on the exploitation of workers and the environment.“In America, capitalism is our system, it is our economic system, but it has not served our economy as well as it should,” said Pelosi. “And so, what we want to do is not walk away from it, but improve it and make sure it serves us.” (Tweet/Video)

One of today’s most important, and weirdly under-reported, news stories is the economic crisis that threatens Great Britain and, more broadly, Europe. Its most striking current manifestation is a food shortage in the U.K. Acute food shortages were feared last night after high gas prices forced most of Britain’s commercial production of carbon dioxide to shut down. Emergency talks were being held between government officials and food producers, retailers and the energy industry…. The closure of two fertiliser plants in northern England and others in Europe has left the food and drink industry facing a shortage of carbon dioxide, which

There were more media members than actual protesters. The threat was exaggerated. The liberal media may not know this yet, but even prior to January 6—the far right in America is…not big.
