Black man assaulted at Indiana lake faces criminal charges

A Black man who said a group of White men assaulted him and threatened to "get a noose" at a southern Indiana lake is facing criminal charges more than a year after the confrontation that earlier led to charges against two of the alleged attackers. Vauhxx Booker, a local civil rights activist and member of the Monroe County Human Rights Commission, was charged with misdemeanor trespass and felony battery for his involvement in last year’s Fourth of July incident at Lake Monroe, according to court documents filed Friday by a special prosecutor in the case.

Comments:

Looks like this one is at least partially a hoax. You have to love this quote: "This incident has been a continual case of a victim being re-victimized by the system. It is the victim in this assault – Vauhxx Booker — who is being made to pay for having stood his ground." That's a lot of victiming going on there.

I am an activist by profession, having lost my job as a tequila worm masker due to covid, and I would like to say that sometimes when there is no activity i feel the urge to act in order to make some action where otherwise there would be only quiet otherwise I wouldn’t feel justified in my profession and like a lot of actors I don’t always really have anything very good to do all the time so sometimes as an activist i am disappointed with my activity.

"Trespass" and felony battery do not occur when "Standing your ground", but only when you are are someplace you are not supposed to be, and get violent with anyone that informs you of such.

Booker should have alleged that one of his alleged attackers called Booker "Boy." The main stream media - by knee jerk reaction - could then assert that "Boy" "is a fightin' word."

Drama like this could get one assaulted for real. Like mama used to say, "I'll give you something to cry about."

While living in the lovely Colorado mountains our neighbors were a very wealthy black couple. On one occasion the man joking said when he doesn’t get his way in a dispute he just threatens to “act colored”. Pleased to say Karma caught up with him.

Over the weekend, the American public finally learned that the vaccinated were being forced to wear masks again because of a massive outlier in Massachusetts where vaccinated people at a beach gathering had a high viral load in their nasal pharynx. And when press on the data during an appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed that viral load meant the vaccinated were spreading it at the same rate as the unvaccinated. But Fauci would be later proven wrong by a high-ranking Israeli public health official and a former FDA commissioner. CBS moderator John Dickerson began by asking Fauci what new understanding

U.S. Olympics hammer thrower Gwen Berry now says that she will protest against the United States on the medal stand to “represent the oppressed peoples” if she medals this week. Berry raised eyebrows by refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem during the U.S. Olympic Trials in June when she won the bronze in the hammer throw. But until this weekend, Berry would not say if she intended to mount any protests if she medals at the Games in Tokyo. On Sunday, Berry put to rest any questions about her intentions. During an interview after she made it through the qualifying round in Tokyo,

Mexico has barred the United States from sending migrant families back across the border, using emergency measures put in place at the start of the pandemic, the Washington Examiner has learned, a development that threatens to exacerbate the border crisis. The decision to prohibit a great number of non-Mexican migrant families from returning to Mexico is expected to force Border Patrol to release more people into the U.S. because it lacks space at existing facilities to hold the thousands coming into custody daily.
