Military cadets at West Point Academy who refuse to take one of the controversial COVID vaccines are being put in solitary confinement, with more stringent restrictions than those who tested positive for the virus.
At West Point Military Academy, a number of cadets are currently rebelling against the push from the Biden administration and military higher-ups to take one of the controversial COVID-19 vaccines. 700 cadets who initially refused the vaccine were brought together into a meeting room, and were briefed as to the benefits of the vaccine. The number of cadets has now dwindled significantly after allegations of daily pressure by “senior officials” at the school

don't they know they are dealing with some of the highest IQ youth in our country? if they do this to our military school students then every school in the country should abide by these idiotic mandates.

Where some see an outrageous infringement of the personal liberties our military is sworn to defend, others see tens of billions of dollars of profit for Pfizer. Which matters more in New America?

Where are the cadets' rights? Did they go down the drain? Joey will do anything and everything to reach his 70% vaccination rate.

Too many well-regarded scientists (a club Fauci claims to be a part of) keep warming us that this vaccine has not been proven and needs to be studied further. No one should be forced to take it.

What!!??!!?? I don't even know what to say, this is terrifying. They are trapped, they will be forced to submit. I would NEVER take this shot, I guess I would die in solitary. Seriously, paging Mitch Rapp, we have to have a few men like him, don't we?

A regular blood-boiler. Apparently, West Point no longer has a commandant with honor and courage. Whoever this turkey is is a craven stooge of the left.

I knew my share of dishonorable officers in my career. Most of them just involved young airgirls, but some were true megalomaniacs. They destroyed people for fun and advancement and were promoted regularly. It appears to be worse now.
I would never recommend the military to a young person anymore.

If all of those doctors and virologists I’ve been reading about are correct about what this “vaccine” actually will do long term, this is just another way for the left to destroy our military.
They are demonic.

Forgot to add. Send every cadet a copy of the Nuremberg Codes so that they know their rights.

The radical left claims that women can get abortions on demand because they have the right to decide what to do with their own bodies. Why don't the cadets at West Point have the same rights to their bodies?

Illegal order. An emergency use only vaccine/drug cannot be mandated by the military. After the details come out, I suspect this incident to go away quietly. IIRC, in the nineties a division commander at Ft. Hood, likely currying favor with the Clinton admin, ordered all soldiers who lived within a hundred mile radius of the post to register their guns. NRA lawyers and others rightfully descended on his HQ like a pack of wolves and this too went away. Sometimes, these guys do these radical things in order to have a career enhancing discriminator on their OER. Other times, they are just plain leftist nuts.

I don't remember vaccinations being optional when I was in the military. If they don't want the shot, send them home. There are plenty other qualified youth who want a free education.

#15... Lots of thing are " optional" in todays military. IF you are of the correct political persuasion. Just ask the treasonous General Milley

The military has always required service members to take vaccinations for many illnesses. Anyone in the military is subject to deployment to many really bad places so vaccination is a reasonable precaution. The problem I see is that any service member (including cadets) would refuse vaccinations on anything but a valid medical reason, such as a known allergy. Also solitary confinement sounds like a really stupid approach to discipline. In the case of cadets, I think discharge from the academy would be a more appropriate response.

#15, please read my post. Service members cannot be forced to take an EUA drug/vaccine. We were not given the option in the military of yore because our immunizations were FDA approved. Another irony is that we took hydrochloriquine/mefloquine in the Gulf War, yet today the medical establishment restricted its use to combat Covid. In addition, the WHO has rated both of these drugs as "essential." My understanding is that service members currently in Southwest Asia take these pills daily.
Apparently, the chain of command doesn't understand that today's cadets have access to all sorts of information and have made their decision based upon their analysis and legal rights. Good for them; bad for the so-called leadership. (If this report is correct.)

I was threatened with jail if I didnt get the anthrax series six months before retirement, despite a lot of people having bad reactions to it. To fix that they changed the definition of a bad reaction. After I retired they stopped mandating it. Gee thanks you jerks. Trust the wisdom of the military at your peril.

Stay strong. If the best and the brightest drop out, the Army will be left with the usual bunch of weasel officers that earn no respect and get people killed in combat. Glad I served in much better times.

Anthrax vaccines have been around for decades. Just ask cattle ranchers. Some people having reactions to shots is routine. The worst reaction I’ve ever had was to the first flu shots in 1976. True, anthrax shots were suspended for a few years, but ultimately were reapproved by the FDA, therefore mandated for both service members and civilians if deployed to certain areas. I was 57 years old when I had my last anthrax shot with no ill effects, and I am unaware of anyone in my cohort having reactions.

Anyone who ever went through Marine boot camp can surely remember being lined up to receive their mandatory vaccinations via big silver air guns. What I don't remember is being able to pick and choose.

Why solitary? Before the vaccines, masks were sufficient. Just make them continue that. Or release them without consequence.
