Biden suspends oil leases in Alaska’s
Arctic refuge

Original Article

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration on Tuesday suspended oil and gas leases in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, reversing a drilling program approved by the Trump administration and reviving a political fight over a remote region that is home to polar bears and other wildlife — and a rich reserve of oil. The order by Interior Secretary Deb Haaland follows a temporary moratorium on oil and gas lease activities imposed by President Joe Biden on his first day in office. CORRECTION*

Comments:

How utterly stupid can a politician be? Every time you pay $3.50 or more for gas, praise the Democratic Party for their infinite wisdom.

Guess Biden will make sure that some of the new wind turbine and electric car factories are built in northern Alaska to make up for all of the oil field jobs about to be lost. I'm sure companies will rush to locate their factories in places with no road or other infrastructure. Of course, Biden could always include it in his infrastructure bill, but it would be held up for years with environmental impact studies.

When Biden was installed in the White House by the corrupt DC political system, gasoline here could be purchased for about $1.69 a gallon, now it is almost $3.00 a gallon and no doubt will continue to go up in price with Biden shutting down the resources needed for the USA to continue energy independence, necessary to keep the price of gasoline reasonable for the American people. It is well known that a big raise in energy prices is bound to adversely effect the US economy. As that occurs it will be interesting to see Biden, the leftist Democrats, and the establishment media come out and blame Trump, with a big low information segment of the American people going along with that ridiculous partisan political claim.

Xiden is destroying America's sovereignty. Well, actually his handlers are. Do you think this latest hack on our meat supply is an accident? Leftists hate oil, meat, and natural gas. So look for an attack on the natural gas grid. But that won't happen until it's cold. So look for an attack on our electric grid. If you need air conditioning, you need to suffer. And besides, when it's really hot, elderly people need A/C. This administration wants to reduce the elderly population.

Obama wanted the price of gas to increase to $8 per gallon. He just did not want it to increase all at once. He said that in one of his screeches. His wish is coming true and eventually his dream will be realized. It does not matter that the price of fuel affects the price of necessities like food, heating during the winter, clothing, etc., but hey, Trump is gone. Thanks democrats, Hollywood and activist media.

The Faculty Senate nominally voted for some forms of Critical Race Theory mandates on faculty and students. Second, the good news. Leaders of the AMA, whose headquarters is on North Wabash Avenue in River North, say they’re aiming to “pivot from ambivalence to urgent action” on health inequities. Though the new, 83-page report has been in the works for more than a year, the group says the coronavirus pandemic, high-profile police brutality cases and recent race-based crimes have given the effort a sense of urgency.

The next morning, the university’s Office of Student Accountability emailed College Republican President Makenzie Jones informing her that the club had been placed on an “interim suspension” following reports that club members were not masked outside.

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration on Wednesday announced a resumption of U.S. assistance to the Palestinians, including to the U.N. agency that deals with Palestinian refugees, nearly all of which had been eliminated under President Donald Trump. The State Department said it would provide a total of $235 million to projects in the West Bank and Gaza as well as to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA. The administration had previously announced $15 million for the Palestinians to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The resumption in assistance has met opposition in Congress from pro-Israel lawmakers, who say the money may violate U.S. law.

Orderly withdrawals take time, and Biden is running out of it. Biden has inched so close to the deadline that his indecision amounts almost to a decision to put off, at least for a number of months, a pullout of the remaining 2,500 troops and continue supporting the Afghan military at the risk of a Taliban backlash.

WASHINGTON — As President Joe Biden preaches patience but acts with urgency, his vision of the powers of the Oval Office is quickly taking shape, modeled after Democratic predecessors who dramatically expanded the reach of government to confront generational crises. In a recent meeting with historians and in private conversations with advisers, Biden looked to the examples set by Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson as he aims to use the levers of executive authority to create opportunities and break down barriers. Unlike Roosevelt and Johnson, who enjoyed formidable Democratic majorities in Congress, Biden has had to operate with a no-margin-for-error edge in fiercely partisan Washington.CORRECTION*
