Gun murders are up 34.4 percent in the 365 days since George Floyd’s death. According to data scraped from Gun Violence Archive, in the Year One B.F. (Before Floyd) from May 25, 2019, to May 24, 2020, there were 13,024 murders committed with a firearm in the U.S. In contrast, in the Year One A.F. (After Floyd) from May 25, 2020, to May 24, 2021, there were 17,499 gun murders, an increase of 4,475 corpses.(Snip) That’s a lot of blood that our new state religion, the worship of the holy martyr George Floyd and his racial brethren, has on its hands. Normally, murders (Snip) are fairly stable from year to year.

As a comparative aside, Sailer includes the fact that the NAACP reports that 3,446 blacks were lynched in all of U.S. history.

The absudity of Floydism was evident last summer when people protesting the death of one man, and chanting the slogan ''Black Lives Matter'' started rioting and killing people. By the time the mostly peaceful riots were finished 29 people dead most of whom were black.

BRACKETTVILLE, Texas—The tens of thousands of illegal aliens that evade Border Patrol every month—hoping to slip undetected to large cities up north—are now being confronted by sheriffs who are starting to charge them for trespassing, evading arrest on foot, and endangering the life or health of a child. Seeing no solutions to the border crisis from the federal government, some counties are looking at all possible means to rein in the high-speed vehicle pursuits, trespassing, break-ins, vehicle thefts, and other crimes that are increasing in their communities. “I’m going to start here, locally. If we catch them, we’re going to start prosecuting these people that are trespassing on y’all’s property,” Kinney County

Unanimously ruling against a Chinese asylum claimant, the Supreme Court reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals this morning, finding immigration judges do not have to explicitly state that an asylum seeker’s story is not credible when finding against him. The court’s opinion in the case, Garland v. Dai, court file 19-1155, was written by Justice Neil Gorsuch. “The Ninth Circuit has long applied a special rule in immigration disputes,” Gorsuch wrote. “The rule provides that, in the absence of an explicit adverse credibility determination by an immigration judge or the Board of Immigration Appeals, a reviewing court must treat a petitioning alien’s testimony as credible and true.”

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. I’ll pass on the muskmelon. There are a few things that the low-testosterone, has-been Republicans like Paul Ryan and his ilk always miss when they warn the party away from Donald Trump. The most obvious, of course, is that this is Trump’s party now and they’re merely C-Team periphery players who should be seen and not heard. Yes, it’s an adjustment, but they’re going to get the message eventually. Another thing that they never get is that those of us on the Trump side of the GOP aisle enjoy life and have no interest in being dragged down again by the dour, constipated, Capitol Hill

President Vladimir Putin is ready to discuss a range of rights issues with his US counterpart Joe Biden when they meet next month, including the "persecution" of those behind the US Capitol riot, Moscow said Monday. Biden on Sunday pledged to press the Kremlin chief to uphold human rights when they meet in Geneva in mid-June for their first summit. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on Monday that Moscow would not shy away from discussing any issue at the summit and Putin could raise the January 6 protests in support of Biden's predecessor Donald Trump. "Of course, we will be ready to discuss everything, including problems that exist in the United States,”

Last week, while the press drooled over the president’s ice cream selection, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Vitolo v. Guzman declared unconstitutional the Biden administration’s race-based approach to distributing COVID-relief funds. While Vitolo only addressed the race- and sex-based reverse discrimination in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the precedent could prove fatal to many other federal and state statutes, regulations, or practices, leaving the Biden administration with a difficult choice: accept defeat in Vitolo and risk a domino effect, or appeal and face an even more unpalatable decision from a newly comprised Supreme Court.

More and more fights breaking out on airplanes. Why? The short answer is that wearing masks to protect against COVID-19 remains a politically divisive statement. Nine killed by gunfire in another mass shooting. Hateful attacks on Jews and Asians rising. All of that happened in the last week. Americans should be coming together in celebration of declining coronavirus infections this Memorial Day. Instead, the bursts of public violence and hate reflect deep political division.
