Newsweek ran a column by two blacktivists, under the headline, "Stop Saying 'People of Color' When You Mean Black."
When did white stop being a color?
This is woke to the woke-th degree. The column complains that calling people of color places people of other colors on par with black people in their grievances.
No, no, no.
They do not want those Asians or Hispanics horning in on their action
The whole point of BLM and all that crap is to promote black supremacy. The argument is white people got to be racist for a few centuries, it is black people's turn now.

Since "Black" is the absence of color, it should be "People of no Color" but , of course, this is strictly political.

I have personally solved the people of color controversey. I no longer watch television news shows, listen to radio news 'on the hour' or otherwise learn of devisive racial issues. I confine myself to watching British television programs or interesting things on YouTube. I live in an all white community and almost never see black people on the street. I'm white and therefore a constant irritant to Black people, so I'm trying to make my lifestyle as inoffensive as possible to them. Now I''m told that trying to please Black people is racist. Can someone lead me from this valley of confusion?

Dark, Boy, Colored, Negro, Black, People of Color and now ........ For god's sake have a meeting, find an identity everyone agrees with and stick to it. This perpetual search for identity is tearing us apart.

As Shakespeare put it "What's in a name"' No matter what word or description they use , their behavior and culture will make it derogatory to others.

#3, my old childhood friend worked as a recruiter for Job Corps. He was the token white male in an office of black women. I would call him from time to time and he got a kick out of answering his phone with,"Whazzup chigger?, or "Yo. Whitebread". It drove them nuts!

Anybody who reflects visible light waves is a ''person of color''.
You might as well call them ''air-breathing tetrapod mammals''.

This is not a new discussion. No matter what term is used SOMEBODY doesn't like it.
Back in high school in the late '60s, we had a brief discussion in class (approved by the teacher, and each student giving an opinion went to the front to say their bit) of what we should call black people. It was all very respectful and nobody was rude at all. There were several black students in the room, and they took a major part in the discussion. I had no particular strong opinion on the matter, then or now.
I clearly remember that one attractive, and intelligent young black woman, and I still remember her name when so many have faded, said "I AM NOT BLACK!" And she pointed to her arm and said, "I have brown skin, and THIS is black." while pointing to her nice black patent leather purse, holding them up together for emphasis. She really objected to the term "black".
Unfortunately, my memory does not record what her preferred term was. I always just called her Connie, her first name. And still, over half a century later, she is remembered as a pretty, very well dressed and well spoke, and intelligent example of a negro woman. I so wish that her example could have been followed by most of her race, but sadly they went off in the wrong direction.

We aren't supposed to get it "right" because they enjoy the sense of power that comes with telling us we're wrong. No matter how obedient to the leftist authorized language we attempt to be, we will be wrong.

I learned to call them colored people as in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. It is their preference, right?
Why am I confused.
Maybe this is why they hate me. Maybe I am a racist after all. OK.
