The joke will then be on these corporations as we watch them fall one by one. They are now committed to hiring untrained, unmotivated employees, paying them more, watching their quality and innovation go down the drain, along with their once-huge profits. Some of them are feeling immediate effects from falling sales, others, like hollywood and disney are on a long smooth downturn. Interesting that Lebron and Oprah are some of the racist voices leading this movement as the majority of their money comes from white people. Zuckerberg already has a wall around his property, I'm sure that the others have similar security. It won't be enough.

VDH perfectly summarizes the surreal conditions we are in. Unfortunately avoids the solution. This isn't a balloon that can be popped. It's a war that must be fought. And not just by a "happy few."

I guess it serves me right for reading Hanson before having first coffee. I spent most of the 45 minutes it took to read it looking up words I didn't know, foreign phrases I could not decipher, or references from Lord of the Rings. I am thankful to Dr. Hanson for helping me become better educated. (My son determined that I was probably more liberal than I am now for having spent 2.5 years in a liberal arts college.)

And that there has been enough fentanyl obtained to kill everyone in New York.Abbott said, “I’ve got to tell you, Steve, there’s something else, a new dynamic about what’s going on at the border that Americans need to know about, and that is the increased apprehension of fentanyl coming across the border. Yes, there may be people coming across the border.

The two top lawmakers on the House Homeland Security Committee reached an agreement Friday on legislation that would create a bipartisan, 9/11-style commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The bill, authored by Mississippi Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson and New York Republican Rep. John Katko, is focused exclusively on the attack and not other episodes of political violence as multiple Republicans earlier insisted. Though it has the support of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it is unclear whether Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other members of his caucus support it.

Pennsylvania State University has been mocked after axing the words 'freshman,' 'junior' and 'senior' - as well as the phrase 'him or her' over fears they're sexist. Last month, the University's Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs passed the 'Removal of Gendered & Binary Terms from Course and Program Descriptions' resolution with a majority vote. They said the axed terms were examples of 'male-centric' terminology that needed to be updated with more inclusive words. Among the concerns raised by the committee were that 'freshmen' were too male-specific, with 'junior' and 'senior' axed for being 'parallel to western male father-son naming conventions.'

Rep. Endorsing such conspiracy theories, which allege that President Joe Biden didn’t actually win the election, poses a bigger threat to the U.S. than 9/11 hijackers ever did, he said.“The fact that the majority of Republicans believe our election was stolen is a sure sign that more violence is to come,”

China and Russia came to a pragmatic conclusion: America in 2021 has neither the desire nor the courage nor the political will to protect itself and its allies. It was under Biden that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline work continued. It was under Biden that the preparations for the seizure of Taiwan by China entered the final phase. Under Biden, China's seizure of the South China Sea, suspended by Trump, is close to completion.

After years of debasing himself in front of a camera, Jim Acosta finally got his very own show on CNN. Because his talent for making a scene far exceeds his talent for reporting the news, CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta is more of an extended sit-down comedy routine than an actual news program.Over the past several weeks, Acosta has been using his platform on CNN to unleash a barrage of painfully crafted knee-slappers, most of them aimed at former president Donald Trump and Fox News host Tucker Carlson. His ratings might be in the gutter, but Acosta's tortured comedy routine is presumably a smash hit with his target audience

Once upon a time, the Republican Party didn’t suck. Actually, there were lots of times it didn’t suck.It didn’t suck when, at its founding in the late 1850s, it declared slavery an inhumane, barbaric practice, and eventually ended it. It didn’t suck when it ended repressive and predatory Mormon polygamy a few decades later. It didn’t suck when it declared late 19th-century corporate monopolies to be injurious to representative democracy and citizen welfare, and diminished their power. It didn’t suck under President Dwight D. Herman Melville’s novel Moby Dick is one the finest books ever written for many reasons, but the main theme is obsession. The captain of the whale ship Pequod is obsessed with hunting down and killing the white whale, the giant mammal that cost the captain his leg. Despite his having lost the last battle with the whale, Ahab is filled with a terrible resolve that is frustrated by his megalomania, his hubris and overconfidence. (snip) Doesn’t that character description sound exactly like Liz Cheney, just-ousted from her House GOP Caucus leadership slot? She is obsessed, overconfident and hubristic to the point of insanity.

Joe Biden wants to present this image of himself as the congenial moderate who wants to unify everyone. As we’ve seen so far, his first few months have been anything but.
