Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas., was quick to dismiss a reporter's request that he wear a mask during a Senate presser on Wednesday.
Cruz stepped up to the microphones, but was stopped before he could speak by the unidentified reporter asking, "Would you mind putting on a mask for us?"
"Yeah, when I’m talking to the TV camera, I’m not going to wear a mask," Cruz responded. "All of us have been immunized, so..."
"It’d make us feel better," the reporter is heard replying.

I've had both my vaccines. Why am I still required to wear a mask? Time for people who are really scared to self quarantine. Let the rest of us live our lives.

Liberals have a mindset that everyone needs to cater to their irrational beliefs and fears.
It’s actually a passive cowardly form of bullying.
Don’t appear them.

“It’d make us feel better,” the idiot reporter said. Wow, just wow. Amen to your response, Senator.

Cheers for Ted Cruz. I love the way he swatted away that senseless Buzzing Fly! Those of us who took the time to FIND a place to be Vaccinated, then to travel to that place Twice, feel we have done our part. Those who CHOOSE not to be Vaccinated can figure out for themselves how to handle COVID. I am not going to wear a Mask to protect the non=vaccinators. Even the young people under 40 are getting Vaccinated now, so there is no excuse to be raging about Masks. I'm over it!!

Perfect response! I also like this one when confronted by someone wearing a mask - Why do I need a mask? You’re wearing one so you’re protected, right? Oh, your mask doesn’t protect you? Then why are you wearing it?

If that reporter is really that risk-averse they are in the wrong line of business.

Has anybody in the past year died of anything but "Covid-19"?

The pattern is repeating itself: the liberals are using the same tactics for CV19 as for gun control as they attempt to extend their fascist tyranny over the entire country, by using statistically meaningless anecdotes to stoke sufficient public fear to justify overly restrictive public policy.
Consider:
For gun control, they make 'liberal use' of methods that provably don't work (just ask Chicago), based on statistically meaningless anecdotes (shooter in Boulder), to impose unConstitutional restrictions on the public (violate 2nd Amendment), with statistically unjustified fear as the primary motivation (e.g., 300 people killed by mass shooters in last five years, vs 100,000 killed by drunk drivers in same five years) . The result is that the liberals gain power and control, and the public loses its freedoms. And in the final analysis, the public gains no protection from the perceived threat in submitting to the unjustified restrictions.
For CV19: same thing. They imposed masks and lockdowns (first time in history, because until March 2020, the science said they don't work) to strip our economy, our jobs, and our freedoms, to protect us from a virus that has 1/10th the morbidity rate of common influenza...while the infection rates went up and down, up and down, entirely independent of the masks and lockdowns.

If you don't like my bare face, then get a comfortable distance away from me. It really is that simple. You may "invade" my "bubble" at your own risk. I will otherwise be happy to avoid being near you.

To poster above - try not to be so harsh on us 'non-vaccinators'! We are not one-size-fits all anymore than someone named Karen necessarily behaves like a 'Karen'. Even though we're in the 65+ group, we have thus far declined to be vaccinated. However, we do not insist that people wear masks and we are not afraid to go to church and the market, and wear masks when it is the rule posted at the place we're visiting or shopping.
There are reasons for our hesitancy to be vaccinated. Although we have friends who have not experienced ill effects after vaccination, we also have a couple of friends who have become ill and even died post-vaccination. True, although this information is anecdotal and not scientific, it is also true that social media have stated that they will allow no negative information to invade their platforms. And, even though the news media have not made the same proclamation, we have seen no negative vaccine reports, indicating that either there is no negative data on the vaccine, or it is not reported. We therefore have no trustworthy information about the vaccine, other than "trust the authorities". Should we trust the same authorities who have made a mockery of science in so many ways? This is an entirely new type of vaccine, and its long-term consequences are unknown.
Keep in mind that, for all the hype, COVID is not nearly as lethal as it is made out to be. Once in a while, someone publishes information that the death count is vastly overstated - the difference between dying 'of' COVID or 'with' COVID. Even if you believe the death rate, 99.5% survivability is not exactly the 'black death'! If the risk of death is so low, why is the vaccine such a salvation? I told my doctor about our reluctance to get the vaccine. She said the risk of being killed by COVID was not great enough to overcome my concern. She said none of her patients have died, even the high risk people.
We are not casting aspersions on those who take the vaccine, other than the ones who loudly signal their virtue for having done so. We simply ask that others respect our hesitancy to jump onboard in the dark hours of the age of lies.

I read that actually more people have died of cancer and heart ailments than have died of Covid this last year but nobody gets all bent out of shape about that. Five relatives and my late husband have all died of cancer so Covid doesn't scare me at all but cancer sure does.

I lost a ton of respect for Ted Cruz when he stabbed President Trump in the back after the November elections.
But I think he may have just earned back a little of it!!!

I wonder if that same reporter would have asked Jen Paski the same thing since she also does not wear a mask when taking questions from the podium in the newsroom? If everyone had their vaccine and the reporter was wearing a mask, he should have felt just fine. The reporter wanted his 15 minutes of fame, he got it. Just not in the way he wanted. Wonder what news organization this reporter was from?

My next round of the Pfizer vaccine is on April 10. Once I get my vaccine card signed by the med tech administering the shot I'm going to have the card laminated. Any busybody Karen who approaches my with 'Why aren't you wearing your mask?' will get the laminated card jammed in their face.
