An American Airlines flight from Dallas to LA was forced to divert to Phoenix and two passengers were arrested after they allegedly used racial slurs and spat on a man who asked them to stop. Kelly Pichardo, 30, and Leeza Rodriguez, 29, from the Bronx, New York, were on Flight 776 from Dallas-Fort Worth to Los Angeles, on February 24 when they were reportedly overheard using 'disturbing and unacceptable' language, according to the airline. A male passenger—who has not been named—asked them to stop, before Pichardo allegedly spat on him, AZ Central reports. When he took out his cell phone

AA is going to wind up in court with these two. Guaranteed. They will claim they were being harassed and provoked by the male passenger.

What words? Give us the deets! I read today where an asian nba basketball player said he was called “coronavirus” on the floor and considers himself a victim of raaaacism. I think that’s kinda funny and just part of smack talk on the floor. Of course all the stunning and brave co posters say of course that’s raaaacist. These women sound like your normal hood rats.

Expecting this man to be prosecuted for some law broken to protect women. Is it any reason why women in general, and women under the age of thirty especially, have become rude and obnoxious toward anyone they deem to be oppressive. It much like criminals who are never held responsible for the crimes they commit has rubbed off on women. They believe anything they do they won't be held responsible because they are female. It's the reason all these socialist agendas and protests are lead by women, with quite a few useful idiot men to provide the muscle.

Hey, maybe they're from Arthur Avenue or the Throgs Neck section, where everyone has a cousin named Vinnie. (S/o)

I knew the jig was up when hate speech so called was codified. There is no such thing as hate speech... just free speech. We will see if America will replicate the Germany of 1933. Antifa/BLM are the brownshirts.

In the age of covid, spitting on someone should be classified as assault with a deadly weapon.

This might wind up being interesting. Decades ago the Supreme Joke of the United States actually ruled that the n word was protected speech. If there is a crime involved, could it make its way to the Supreme Joke once again?

I can see it now. Before boarding a plane we will be forced to watch a video of how to behave on a plane. Then we will each have to sign that we will adhere to the code of conduct.

They're from the Bronx. They were flying from Dallas to Los Angeles. They were arrested in Phoenix. They're going to have a difficult time finding their way back home.

#15 - Planes in the early 21st century are the equivalent to buses in the early 20th. Anyone that can pay the fare becomes a passenger. At least they corralled the live-animals-on-board issue, so we still have a third-world marker yet to meet. Our last flight was in 2005, just after the shoe bomber and everyone in line had to stand in their stocking feet. If it wasn't a business trip for TK, I would have turned back home. Since then, if we can't drive there - we don't go there.
Its a pity. For the decade of the 1990's, I worked in the administration of the L.A. Department of Airports (LA-DOA ??). My office was on the 7th floor of the old tower building, overlooking the south runways and the pacific ocean. I could see Catalina on a clear day. (Happens more often than you'd think.) I loved LAX. On breaks I would walk the terminals. It was so much fun to see people meeting each other, seeing each other off. You could walk your family/friend right up to the boarding area. The terminals were full of people going into the shops and stopping for food. Exciting times.
I was friends with the movie coordinator and got behind the scenes for lots of movies. The calf in "City Slickers" let loose a flood right in front of the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The studio flunky only had a roll of paper towels to clean it up! Fun times.
Robin Williams and Billy Crystal were filming in Terminal One, and they had the public held back for a scene. A traveling choir was behind the ropes stopping egress to the gates, and when the scene was over they asked if they could sing for Mr. Williams and Mr. Crystal. Both men heartily gave their consent. I was privileged to hear the most beautiful a cappella rendition the Ave Maria in my life. The voices resounded against the vaulted two-story interior space. I was on the mezzanine catwalk and I felt the notes in my bones. Inspirational times.
I was there the day Bill Clinton stopped the airport for two hours to get a hair cut. Air Force One had already left the tarmac and taxied into place on the runway. That's when Bill decided to call Beverly Hills for his stylist. For some unknown reason, AF1 did not return to the tarmac area but stayed at the end of the runway. (Now that we know lots of things, I wonder what that was really all about.) I worked for an assistant director and even he didn't know. He was a Dem political appointment and as we stood looking from the 7th floor windows towards the west and AF1, I got a lot of good needles placed in vulnerable spots. (Back then politics could be fun between Dem and Repub.) Our phone was ringing off the hook with the airline station managers. Our poor secretaries took the brunt. We had no news to share and were as captive as the planes circling overhead. Interesting times.
All the hustle and bustle, fun and excitement of air travel has been sucked out, down to the marrow. Its a pity. I beg indulgence for the rant about the lost past.

Thanks, #17. I loved your memories. My first flight ever was from Tennessee to Hawaii in 1958. We wore our Easter finery, hats and gloves, stocking with seams! Good times.

My experience with Latins is that they use racial epithets frequently. N word, grinko. Even if you don't speak Spanish and are overhearing a conversation listen for the word grinko. It'll be in there. Even from ones you think are sophisticated.
I've also had the opportunity to overhear some highly educated Syrians talking about the good old days of there childhood when they got to participate in killing homosexuals. And how they were willing to do it again. Most foreigners don't have the tolerance of Americans.

A "man", offended by a conversation he overhears, demands that two females stop using the offensive language. When his demands are ignored, he takes out his cell phone and starts taking video. He gets his hand "struck", and he is allegedly spat upon.
Is poking a cell phone in someone's face when offended by their language acceptable? This snowflake believed that he was justified in starting a fight on an airplane which resulted in an emergency landing. Why wasn't he arrested?

They're still making them dainty and demure in the Bronx. The man who was attacked was probably guilty of not being a Latinx, so had it coming; how dare he interrupt their vulgar repartee.
