ATLANTA—The Georgia Senate on Tuesday pushed through the first batch of what could be a raft of restrictive voting measures Republican lawmakers say will safeguard voting but Democrats decry as based on a lie and aimed at overturning their party's recent electoral success in Georgia. The most important measure passed was Senate Bill 67, which carried on a largely party-line 35-18 vote. It would require that a voter include their driver’s license number, other state identification number or a photocopy of an approved ID when applying for an absentee ballot. That would replace the current process of signature verification, one of the key elements former President Donald Trump and others attacked

American Conservative Union chief Matt Schlapp held his own in a combative interview Monday with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, who said that former President Donald Trump’s claims of vote fraud and manipulation were unfounded while hinting he should not be given a platform to continue making them.To lead the segment, Cuomo noted that Trump will be a featured speaker at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference that is set to begin on Thursday, strongly suggesting that he should not be given a venue to speak.Schlapp responded by noting that Trump’s agenda and policies were “the most conservative” of any president in generations and that he kept his promises while in office.

Corporate America continues to threaten to pull campaign contributions from the 147 Republicans who voted to not certify the results of the 2020 presidential election, yet this has made no dent in Republicans’ fundraising strength as Democrats govern left at alarming speed.According to financial disclosures made public by the Federal Election Commission, the Republican National Committee raised $16.3 million in January compared to the Democratic National Committee’s $13.5 million. That’s about $3 million more. The Democratic Senatorial Committee raised $6 million while the National Republican Senatorial Committee raised $8.3 million in January, as previously reported by The Federalist. The United Nations is reportedly helping the Biden Administration find more asylum-seeking migrants to get back into the United States after they were removed to Mexico or Central America to await asylum processing under the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols. President Joe Biden canceled the program after taking office on January 21.“Hundreds of migrants signed up on Friday within hours of the launch of a U.N. website that allows migrants with active cases to register remotely to be processed at the U.S.-Mexico border,” Reuters reported. “The United States and the United Nations are evaluating the locations of migrants and costs associated with possible flights and land transportation within Mexico.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the decision by President Joe Biden’s administration to reopen a detention center for migrant children on Monday.More than 200 migrant teenagers on Monday were sent to a reopened facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, according to CBS News, with plans to expand the number of detained children to 700 in facilities across the country. Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris strongly condemned such facilities during the 2020 presidential campaign, accusing former President Donald Trump of putting children and “babies in cages.”“Under Trump, there have been horrifying scenes at the border of kids being kept in cages, tear-gassing asylum seekers, ripping children from

One person’s “kids in cages” is another’s “reopening overflow facilities.” The Biden White House is being accused of hypocrisy for reopening border facilities to house migrant teenagers — including one that both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris savaged then-President Donald Trump about on the campaign trail and before.Biden blasted Trump repeatedly for separating families and failing to reunite them, decrying during an October debate that migrant children were “ripped from their [parents’] arms and separated.”Harris, then a senator, said in 2018 at the peak of the family separation controversy that Trump’s treatment of migrants was a “crime against humanity.”

Joe Biden took a cheap shot at President Trump during a remote White House event for Black essential workers about the COVID-19 pandemic co-hosted with White House domestic advisor Susan Rice. Biden said in a veil reference to Trump, “I think there’s a growing awareness that, uh, um, you know, uh, injecting bleach into your system doesn’t do it for you.”Biden made a rare appearance without a mask on, showing his tight shiny face that looks years younger than it should at 78 (Botox injections?), even as his slow, halting, eyes cast down and barely open delivery belied his age

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow previewed some revelations in his forthcoming book, Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption, during his introductory monologue on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily.“I can’t believe what I was able to find,” Marlow said of the research and writing of Breaking the News. “It was a year of immersive work.” News media corruption is much deeper than political bias, he maintained. AUSTIN—Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday that 31 additional Texas counties have been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be added to President Joe Biden’s major disaster declaration, bringing the number of counties where Texans are eligible to apply for individual assistance to 108.“I thank FEMA for their swift approval of these additional counties and for their continued partnership as we ensure Texans have access to relief following the winter storm,” Abbott said in a news release. “I urge Texans to use the Texas Individual Assistance Reporting Tool so that the state can continue to identify damages and fight for the crucial assistance that our communities need.”

The opening of a new supermarket in the Birmingham suburb of Stechford nearly 31 years ago unfolded with neither fanfare nor razzmatazz. There were no adverts to speak of, not even an 'opening soon' sign hanging outside.Cosseted by the comfortable embrace of familiarity (Tesco, Sainsbury's et al), shoppers greeted this new retail arrival, with its low-budget layout, boxes piled up under the harsh strip lighting and a limited product range (600 basic items and not a brand name in sight) with a hefty dose of suspicion.'One looks in vain for avocados or kiwi fruit,' remarked The Times, of the store, a year later. The absence of such exotic non-essentials
