The Ralph Lauren Corporation is cutting ties with golfer Justin Thomas over his use of a homophobic slur. Thomas apologized for the incident, which occurred at a PGA Tour tournament in Hawaii last Saturday. "There's no excuse," Thomas told the Golf Channel in an on-air apology immediately after his round. In a statement, the company said it was discontinuing its sponsorship of Thomas because of his use of the slur, which the company said inconsistent with its values.(Snip) A former world No. 1, Thomas is now third in golf's rankings. "As we make this decision, our hope is that Mr. Thomas

Typical rush to judgment. I thought he was referring the original meaning, "a bundle of sticks or twigs, esp. when bound together and used as fuel". If he'd used the other 'F' word he would have been fine.

It likely wouldn't take much digging to unearth an ill-spoken word that came out of Lauren's mouth. This hypocritical new puritanism being signed onto by the progs is really nauseating. On to rabid book-burnings and re-edits of hundreds of thousands of the movies their people made which are replete with "offenses". They sure are full of themselves.

Values such as pressuring boy models into drug-fueled gay sex, the same way they molest women and girls. The fashion industry is an open sewer of degeneracy, on a par with our other moral arbiter, Hollywood.

I still maintain that, irrespective of the Gaystapo coming after him, that's a really weird thing to call yourself or the ball or whatever he was disgusted with.

"sucks" is a derogatory homosexual word. Or it used to be. Pretty much the word became mainstream when the movie "Dracula Sucks" came out. Having grown up in the 50's I am appalled today when kids use the word so freely.

Maybe a bunch of other pros should stand in solidarity with JT and not show up. There are maybe 2 pros on the entire tour who are completely innocent of uttering profanity and/or slurs on the golf course. Raise your hand if you never told your putter, or driver, to go F itself. Or called yourself an F'n A..hole...out loud...more than once...a round.

So interesting coming from Ralph. For years all his commercials where white waspy people enjoying the high life of money. No normal people or blacks etc. He who owns a multi million car collection and lives in one of his commercials criticizes this young guy who made a mistake. Where are the commercials from Ralph giving a shout to all the left causes he seems to support??? Hypocrite!!!

Justin made it worse by apologizing for it. It's golf. Anyone whose played golf for any length of time has said far worse on the course. Besides he said it to himself directed at the ball which is as far as I know, has no sexual orientation.

Prior to 1976 "homosexuality" was listed in the United States as mental illness. The listing was taken out via political action (not science or a study). Homosexuality continues to be listed as a mental illness in International Classification of Diseases Am American may not be able to verify this post, as the International Classification of Diseases has been reduced to "excerpts", which leave out Homosexuality as a diagnosis.

#9 and #12 I have too and i sent a letter to them telling exactly why, after 6+ decades of wearing their clothes, I'll never wear them again. He was talking to himself in a low voice, no one else could hear. The ONLY reason anyone knows what he said was because of the TV mics.

But now it is okay to intentionally and often say the F-word, that's a crude (and actually violent) description of a sexual act, in every movie, song, and even on TV now!! And they don't care how it affects the rest of us --especially children--not to mention society as a whole. But to accidentally utter (under one's breath) a old (albeit negatively charged) slang word for "homosexual" in an emotional outburst is now an unforgivable "Federal" crime punishable by losing one's livelihood? Apologies never accepted no matter how sincere.

First off, there is no such illness called homophobia. Second, I love how these companies always talk about their "values". Their values are to make money. They think they have to grovel to homosexuals to make their money. That's all there is to it.

These corporations are always virtue signaling about their "values." Their values are nothing like those of normal people, and we would be disgusted and horrified to learn what many of them are. Too bad so many of these terrible companies are still in business, but I suppose there are people who like to buy their overpriced and snooty products.

Re#10: I am not afraid of homosexuals. Actually, I pity them their mental illness. The word I use in place of the term homophobic is "homoaverse", meaning I have an active feeling of visceral repugnance, dislike, or distaste towards them. I consider their "lifestyle" to be an affront to nature. I do not voluntarily associate with homosexuals nor do I use the word "gay" in reference to homosexuals. I do not use derogatory terms in reference to homosexuals, nor would I ever seek to harm a such a person in any way. That would be uncivilized. They suffer from mental illness and should have our sympathy. I refer to homosexuals as "homosexuals". That is the most accurate label currently available.

Are we to believe the following: One of best golfers and determined competitors in the game, in the heat of the battle, disgusted with himself utters a word referring to HIMSELF and strangely there are people who think he was THINKING of and disparaging homosexuals at the time in that place??? That's really a stretch. Go find another victim for your silliness and penchant for "cancelling" good people.
