A Los Angeles police officer has been ordered by LAPD Chief Michel Moore to tell FBI agents about his attendance at the pro-Trump rally that preceded the attack on the U.S. Capitol. The unnamed officer told police officials that he attended the large pro-Trump rally on the National Mall on Jan. 6, where Trump spoke, but left “prior to any other activity and did not participate in anything that occurred at the Capitol,” Moore said. The officer said that he was back at his D.C. accommodation when he saw on television that people had left the rally and stormed the Capitol, Moore said.
With a lawyer, in lawyers office, and videoed with court reporter.
Or be silent.
The FBI will otherwise lie about what you said.

My son-in-law has just a couple months left as an LAPD officer, he's transferring to friendlier (at least for now) territory in a red state department.

#1 is absolutely right. I'd also demand a subpoena before I opened my mouth. The FBI is madly looking for scalps, and won't be too picky about guilt or innocence. Most people don't have the assets to defend themselves against the DOJ.

All citizens, when ever interviewed by any law enforcement office, DA's office, especially the FBI or a US Attorney and of course Congress need to use these few simple words. Under advise from my attorney, i am using my 5th amendment rights. Never ever talk to the goobernment. All they want to do is harm people to protect the democrats.

You mean the speech that took place simultaneously with the start of the so-called "attack on the U. S. Capitol.

Definitely go with attorney.
Note he said he was back in his hotel room before the troublemakers had "broken away from" the Trump supporters. I watched the rally on Rightside Broadcasting and noted the demeanor of the crowd, and individuals being interviewed by RSBN reporters. They were calm, rational, happy, certainly not happy about the election, but I think hopeful that the last release valve of returning the electors might work. I had no idea that there was a stupid melee going on at the Capitol.
For a long time i have said that most Americans including politicians who ought to know better, have been infected with what i dubbed ICHH (pronounced, ick): It Can't Happen Here. That attitude is to make us weak, vulnerable, unprepared. As Jefferson warned, "The price of liberty is eternal vigilance." (rephrased)
We get riled up during election year, then go back to minding our own business. Dems never "go back to normal," they stay engaged and activist. They always got the dukes up. Republicans? they're back at work, but mentally lolling in the hammock. Heaven help us to never become like those meddlesome busybodies, but let's teach the young to be aware, alert, and wise. Fight against Oblomovism (Read Oblomov by the great Russian novelist, Ivan Goncharov for the full, very depressing, picture).
We know that there is an end game, and we are careening toward the edge of the cliff, and down below is the trash-heap of totalitarianism. There are a lot of metaphors for where we're at: we've passed almost every "off ramp" by which we could have had the contentions about the election fully and fairly examined; all the release valves have been sealed shut, and the pressure is building, you've got to release the steam; and then in other words, most of the people, tens of thousands of people, at this last rally were peaceful. They had a right as any citizen does to Peaceably Assembly and make Redress of Grievances, to Speak, exercising our precious First Amendment, which the Dems and Left have bastardized.
No-one was tearing down statues, burning and pillaging, there weren't even any weapons displayed (as far as I've heard/read). Gee, they just wanted to do like the leftwing rioters of 2020.
So where's the recourse? And now companies are bowing in abject servility to the new tyrants to deny the right to make a living, to pursue commerce, to engage in the marketplace? So many people were already growing desperate with the creepy covid shutdowns. These are the perfect conditions for the heavy boot of dictatorship to come down on the people, who do not in any way have the capability to withstand the exercise of force.
Support the Republicans (and some from different political persuasions) who are fighting the good fight. Pray for all those people who have supported POTUS through his accomplished 4 years. Pray for President Trump and his family (Barron came to mind in particular this morning), pray for each other. Pray for God's mercy. Never give up.

Everybody needs to understand that these people don't abide by rules or laws - they reinterpret them as they need to fit the situation. BLM/Antifa rioting, burning, and looting all summer...? Stand down and provide bail. Peaceful Patriots assemble in DC and a few dumbasses trespass in the Capitol? Call out the National Guard and the FBI, call them insurrectionists and domestic terrorists then hunt them down (this story and another one on this site on how they arrested the Proud Boy in NY for simply running his mouth on social media).
It appears that the feds are on a hair-trigger and ready to pounce should you step out of line.

This is all leading up to the mark of the beast, where you won't be able to buy or sell unless you have a mark on your head or your right hand such as implanted chip that has all your data on it. If you don't believe the right thing, say the right things, worship the right way, they'll first terrorize you economically to try to force you to Bow before them, and if you continue to refuse, then they'll kill you.

It sure looks like the FBI is using intimidation tactics against freedom assembly. If this is the case there needs to be courage and serious pushback. Expect Biden to use Hitler tactics of using unrest to eliminate guns and expand the curtailment of free speech. We know the FBI leadership if already tainted by political attacks on Trump and many of them are still around in management positions.
