David Dinkins, who was elected New York City’s first black mayor in 1989 and famously referred to the nation’s largest metropolis as a “gorgeous mosaic,” died Monday night, sources told The Post. The former mayor passed away due to natural causes at his Upper East Side home at around 9:30 p.m. He was 93 years old. A home health aide had discovered Dinkins was not breathing and called 911, sources said. His death comes a little over a month after his wife, Joyce, died at their home. She was 89. Dinkins was a disaster of a mayor, since surpassed by Mayor Big Bird. Dinkins, whose claim to fame is being black (cheers to the post for omitting the capital B), caused the mess of crime that Rudy Giuliani so ably cleaned up. "General David Dinkins, where aaaaaare you?"

Under Dinkins, New York City became an uninhabitable garbage dump of filth and crime that was only rescued from oblivion by Rudy Giuliani. Dinkins was the most corrupt and incompetent mayor since the days of Tammany Hall. And now diBlasio has picked up the torch and the windshield squeegee and is continuing the life work of Dinkins to destroy the city with filth and crime and drive out anyone with a conscience or eyes to see. .

I shed not a tear for this man. Dinkins never apologized for his mismangement and living very high while mayor. I lived in midtown due to work during this time in what had been a relatively safe neighborhood. Houses were broken in wholesale, elderly ladies were beaten with lead pipes on Park Avenue in broad daylight, Bryant Park was a no-go zone, there were bombings (Cuban Mission), and I got mugged IN my building and sent to the hospital. Dinkins was a jerk and made the mess even worse. Kaiser Wilhelm is beating him though....

He was a narcissist. Anyone remember that $35,000 cherrywood headboard? Or how he'd show up at hospitals to visit with shot policemen in his warmups, while attending the U.S. Open in black tie? ANd lest we forget, Yankel Rosenbaum was sure to greet him at the Pearly Gates. I hope he asked Dinkins "What's the password?"

The NYPD releases weekly crime statistics for the year-to-date. They provide a column comparing to last year. Most statistics are nearly doubled now. They also provide a second comparison to Dinkins' last year in office, an odd number of years ago. Current numbers are nowhere near as bad. When Democrats are using statistics to show they are nowhere near as bad as Dinkins, you know Dinkins was a disaster.

Well at least he lived long enough to see himself lose that title of most hated and horrible mayor in NYC history. RIP to him though and to his wife. Lots of the elderly do not survive long after losing a spouse. I can't trash talk him right now, he at least had the smarts to stay retired in obscurity.

New York City—After a string of subway pushes and attacks, the NYPD is sending dozens of police officers back into New York City's transit system. According to the NYPD, 120 officers are being moved back to the transit beat after being moved in the summer to help cover protests across the city. The increase comes after three scary subway shovings in the past week alone. The most frightening attack happened last week when a mother was randomly pushed in front of an oncoming train pulling into the Union Square station and thankfully survived to tell the tale.
