Trump Won the Battle

Let’s face it: Joe Biden might be the next president of the United States. A man who rarely left his basement for weeks and repeatedly refused to take questions from the press, outside of the flavor of ice cream he purchased, could soon lead the free world. It’s tough to stomach, but when one considers that he won by claiming that Donald Trump failed to protect the country from COVID-19 it becomes downright infuriating. In his speech to accept the Democratic nomination, the former vice president laid his strategy bare by declaring, “Our current president has failed in his most basic duty to the nation.

He sure did. But this virus was not as bad as the democrats made it. The democrats saw the opportunity to use it to take Trump down and create voter fraud.

And they may still get away with that plan. But we can still hope for the truth to vindicate Trump against the swamp.

The dark art of playing world-class Scrabble 5 replies

When the top players gathered in Torquay, England, last year for the World Scrabble Tournament (this year’s contest should have been this week, but has been cancelled thanks to you-know-what), it was to use ‘words’ like these in their games: dzo, ch, foyned, ghi… Yep, that’s right; a whole lot of words that, let’s be frank about this, are not words. That’s why my spell-checker underlines them in red. The top players, you see, don’t win tournaments by being cleverer than the rest of us. They do it by memorizing a long list of non-words so they can avoid the problems ordinary players encounter.

Is anyone else too old to start living on his knees? See, submission is not in the cards. The question is whether preserving our freedom means dissolving the Union. And though our alleged betters tell us we are not allowed to think about that horrible prospect, it’s the ruling caste itself that raised the question. When you get a vile clown like Chuck Schumer promising to “change America” if he steals another Georgia election in the coming run-off, it only reaffirms that we don’t want to “change America” – at least not into the Venezuela-lite he and his coterie of neo-Marxist bother-wedders, fake Indians, and buck-tooth morons want.

One of the most undercommented on features of the 2016 election was the fact that Hillary Clinton outspent President Trump 2-to-1. She lost a squeaker. In 2020, little changed. Joe Biden outspent Trump by nearly 2-to-1. Although he won, his margin of victory in the states that he needed for the required electoral votes was smaller. For all of his financial dominance, the favored candidate won by the skin of his teeth. Earlier this year, Tom Steyer spent hundreds of millions of dollars to go nowhere in the Democratic presidential primary. Michael Bloomberg put an exclamation mark on that folly with his futile presidential candidacy. It turns out that you can spend
Exit Sidney Powell, the Robert

Trump’s legal team has ditched Sidney Powell, who has played a starring role in Trump’s post-election effort by broadcasting lunatic conspiracy theories. Apparently the fact that Powell has shared none of her alleged evidence with anyone in Trump’s orbit finally made Trump’s attorneys doubt the promised emergence of a Kraken, even though they brought her to spout her poisonous absurdities at the RNC press conference last week. Powell has been interviewed by a bunch of high-profile right-wing media figures over the last two weeks, all of whom credited her. Do any of them mind that she evidently misled them? If so, it’d be good to hear it.

President Trump formally exited the 1992 “Open Skies” treaty with Russia yesterday on the ground that Russia wasn’t performing its obligations under that agreement. The treaty allowed each nation to fly reconnaissance aircraft over the other to inspect weapon systems. Trump also directed that two Air Force aircraft, specially equipped for that mission, be disposed of to handcuff any effort by a president Biden next year. The disposal of those aircraft isn’t likely to take place before Trump leaves office — if he does — in January.Trump’s announcement last week that we would be reducing our troop levels in Afghanistan and Iraq to 2,500 in each nation

Look folks, there’s an easy way around the government ban on having a traditional Thanksgiving feast with friends and family. Hold a protest against colonialist oppression instead! As we know, protests are exempt from the rules, and are “scientifically” proven to pose lower risk of COVID spread than, say, a MAGA meetup or a motorcycle rally in Sturgis. It’s foolproof (necessary when dealing with government fools these days): just make up a sign that says, “This protest meal is 1619 Project compliant.” Who knew that the Ibram X. Kendi wing of the left is literally a turkey wing? Well it is now.

Americans held hostage:

Last month’s heroic rescue of a US hostage, Philip Walton, in Nigeria serves as a sharp reminder: Other Americans remain in captivity abroad unjustly, too, and the nation shouldn’t rest until every one of them is home. Walton’s rescue was absolutely spectacular: The elite SEAL team parachuted down a few miles from the target and killed a number of Walton’s captors, without suffering any US casualties. President Trump rightly praised “our country’s brave warriors” for the “daring nighttime rescue.” “The kidnappers wished they had never done it. We got our American citizen . . .  but the other side suffered gravely,” he said.

We are marking a great American anniversary this month. In November 1620 a battered old ship called the Mayflower arrived in the waters off Cape Cod in what is now the state of Massachusetts. The passengers aboard the Mayflower were our nation’s first founders — or, as Daniel Webster called them, “Our Pilgrim Fathers.” Webster delivered a speech to honor these Pilgrims on the 200th anniversary of the Mayflower’s arrival. Calvin Coolidge, then-governor of Massachusetts and president-elect, delivered an address on the 300th anniversary. Regrettably, we haven’t heard much about this year’s anniversary because the Pilgrims have fallen out of fashion in elite circles.

LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK - Toilet paper aisles are emptying again as COVID-19 curfews and shutdowns in states from California to New York send pandemic-weary shoppers on a new scramble for essentials. Walmart on Friday said it was “seeing pockets of lower than normal availability” for toilet paper and cleaning supplies in some communities as infections rage virtually unchecked across most of the United States. As of Friday afternoon, 22 states have imposed restrictions aimed at decreasing spread of the virus - giving rise to a new round of panic buying from shoppers and purchase limits from retailers including Target and Kroger, the nation’s largest supermarket chain.

Well, the circle is complete, as they say. Colin Kaepernick, football player turned activist, has moved from wearing pig police socks and kneeling during the national anthem to outright calling for the release of cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal from prison. It had to happen. This day had to come. For an attention-seeking activist, the worst scenario is to lose the limelight. It means the death of influence. So Kaepernick — who’s already run the course on calling for police reform, who’s already spent his media capital on aligning with Black Lives Matter and crying racism when NFL teams, surprise, surprise, failed to rush to extend lucrative offers —

For the lockdown-weary, a brief window of hope opened after the presidential election. With Joe Biden victorious, Democratic politicians and their media allies lost their incentive to weaken Donald Trump’s economy and stoke Covid-19 panic among voters. And with Republicans well-positioned to retain the Senate, governors and mayors in blue states could no longer count on a windfall from a Democratic Congress to rescue them from the consequences of their lockdowns. Finally, cooler heads could prevail—right? So much for that fantasy. Instead of reconsidering their policies, local officials are restricting more businesses and closing more schools, as New York City has just done.

It’s time to put our country first and listen to the will of the people. That’s how we ensure the integrity of our democratic processes for years to come.

This is why you don’t swallow conspiracy theories whole-cloth without waiting for evidence to be presented. Amazingly, it appears that Trump’s own campaign is now disowning Sidney Powell’s fairly out there claims about German servers and millions of switched votes. And I don’t say that as someone who wouldn’t want to believe it if there was proof, but there was obviously no proof and plenty to the contrary. Here’s the Trump campaign today essentially telling Powell to go jump in a lake, which is probably the most surprising development of the last several months. Well, this is awkward.

The temporary “freeze,” which went into effect Wednesday, restricts indoor at-home and social gatherings to six people from no more than two households, with no exceptions for Thanksgiving dinner get-togethers. In a Friday virtual interview with KGW-TV, Ms. Brown agreed that Oregonians should contact authorities if they see their neighbors hosting more than six people.
