NeverTrump was a loose term for lots of different Republican apostates. First, were a small cadre of self-described conservatives and doctrinaire Republicans, who under no circumstances would have ever voted for Trump or embraced his agenda, or in some extreme cases, ever voted for any who would vote Trump. So there are gradations of NeverTrumpers. But mostly the general pique comes down to cultural, comportment, class—and often careerist—concerns, rather than policies per se. After the election, we can now see better the contours of who and what these NeverTrump cliques were.
The Hardcore - Give the hardcore tiny credit for consistency: they hated candidate Trump.

VDH is correct. But if the current election corruption is not given a good dose of political bleach, future election corruption will be worse. Individuals involved in the corruption must spend time in Leavenworth, and that includes those politicians who enabled or endorsed those individuals' actions. Mr Trump may not be able to overturn enough electoral votes to get re-elected but if he exposes and ultimately corrects the corruption, he will definitely go down in history like Theodore Roosevelt as the Greatest President of all time.

FTA: On the ordinary #NeverTrumpers. Those who decided he was too vulgar or whatever:
In fact, they are akin to nerds in high school who snooted about the people on their no-invite lists for parties none of those people wanted to attend, anyway.
Oh, yes. We remember them well…

More on the rabid clique of #NeverTrumpers:
How strange that in their fury against a purported racist, corrupt, and mentally enfeebled Trump, they voted for a race-jabbering, segregationist-praising careerist, of a corrupt family syndicate, and someone who would likely flunk the much-ballyhooed Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test.

As for their fate:
The NeverTrumpers likely never envisioned themselves in their fading moments as orphaned grifters begging for left-wing cash to play the role of useful idiots—only to be cast off by their paymasters after their inept roles have been played out—which is now their immediate fate. Yet they were never able to capture any popular constituency, largely because of their incoherence. Trump received 93 percent Republican support in some 2020 exit polls—increasing in party support the more Republican gatekeepers damned him.
Now Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is demanding to see the figures on Lincoln Project effectiveness and, in good socialist fashion, wants the bunch to hand over their cash on hand to more deserving leftists. Almost on spec, just hours after the election ended, the NeverTrumpers were derided by the Left as impotent scam artists, and undeserving suctions of left-wing money.
Nobody really loves a traitor. Having served as useful idiots, they are deemed to be untrustworthy, incapable of loyalty.

VDH whistles past the graveyard...The Republican Division of the UNIPARTY was no less threatened by PDT than their Democrat colleagues. PDT represented those who saw the profiteering and "treasonous" behavior of their elite and who saw Trump as a man who could clean it up. In 2018, when PDT didn't retreat, the Republican Division forfeited its majority in the House for two reasons. One is it had no desire to be forced to support the Trump agenda, and most importantly, it opened the door for impeachment over whatever could be scraped together. No Republican blood need be shed to rid the nation of this meddlesome businessman.
I'm always interested in alternative theories. Okay, national GOP leadership is incompetent and oddly has been for decades. The party nominates milquetoast candidates (Start with Bush41 right through Romney...leading to JEB!) who shy from much more than mild political disagreement. You can believe this is all just happenstance...or look behind the partisan curtain.

The useful idiots have served their purpose. They'll be thrown aside by those they've been servicing for the last four years, and those of us who've been stalwart supporters of the right will never forgive them. Throw them on the ash heap of history, every useless one.

Now that I see how deep the corruption goes in DC, I suspect the Never Trumpers are all part of the deep swamp. President Trump is going the turn off the faucet. Love to see AOC’s bank account.

In our local elections the politicians look at which way they think the wind is blowing and change parties to match that. Its how they hope to get elected and it often works. Thats how I see the never trumpers.

Here's another aspect of the crux of our peril: One side, the Republican, sees politics as a game. You win some, you lose some. The pendulum swings one way for 4 or 8 years, and then back. You dapple the wins or losses with multifarious combinations of Ds and Rs, and then they're sifted out and back to an equilibrium slightly weighted one way or another.
But the other side, the Dems, especially at the Obama fulcrum, they are not playing a game. They aren't even playing chess. They are deadly serious, like religious fanatics, they are chiliasts of the Marxist type. Obama was not joking when he declared the offensive war move of fundamentally transforming the United States of America. NeverTrumpers, in between picking the brie from their teeth and pinkie-fingered sipping Chablis, haven't figured it out.
It ought to be remembered that when Tsar Nick and family surrendered to the Bolsheviks, he took the terrorists at their word !!! that they would be safe, because they all wanted what was best for Mother Russia. Before long, however, the whole family was slaughtered. The Tsar really did want to save the Russia. For Lenin and the Bolsheviks, the destruction --the fundamental transformation-- was the goal.
We Constitutional conservatives are not working off the same set list with the Dems. They see the Constitution as a set of negative propositions, as BO put it. For the Founders, the goal was to protect Liberty. Totalitarians can not and will not accept freedom of the individual. They will beat you into submission for your own good.
So the NeverTrumpers and "Independents" and libertarians who like to teach the two established Parties "a lesson," are naïve, silly, foolish people who have helped to steer this great Ship of State toward the rocky shoals. Every year that anti-American policies are pushed, in education curricula, through the growing influence of the entertainment industry on shattering of the norms of patriotism and morality, as the Founders said was necessary for a Republic such as ours to survive, the closer to destruction we sail.
Donald Trump climbed on board four years ago. For a non-politician, his instincts on what needed doing for the prosperity and safety of the people, were very good. However, he should have thrown overboard a lot of insiders, those of the Deep State. He trusted some people that made a lot of us scratch our heads.
We need this Captain at the helm, not that stowaway shuffling around below deck looking for more ballots in the loo.
keep praying
