This boneheaded move is guaranteed to lose about half of your customers yet this clown is not the only one who has done something like this. Then there are the extreme morons like Dick's Sporting Goods and that loser who had a good thing going in Chik-fil-A and they lost the majority.

At least he was honest about it! I'm sure all the employees that will be laid off soon will still love him.

From the email:
Q: What gives us the right to tell you what to do?
A. The first amendment. To be clear, you don't have to listen. But....
No "but". We don't have to listen, period. And FWIW, the First Amendment gives you the freedom to speak your mind, not the right to tell others what to do.

They should also have sent out a letter to their investor's asking them how much they intend to sue them for in a class action suit for intentionally and needlessly destroying stock holder value.

CEO's have been sending emails in support of BLM to their customers, whose email they only have because of prior orders. I know. I have received them. I responded that I did not want any more political opinions from the CEO, that he was doing an awful job, manifested by huge debt, no profits, that his time seemed to be on political issues, rather than running the company, based on the just described results. The CEO's doing this have to be reprimanded, referred to HR for violating company conflict of interest policies and ethical standards, and punishment: suspension, fine, or dismissal. Many customers disapprove. I hope the CEO's are hearing from all of them, but I suspect they think too much of their opinions to care much for what stakeholders think, and it is showing, in sports, media, politicians, disgusting.

I’m assuming there is a board of directors.
Maybe a little meeting to fire him might be a good move (even though he started the company.)

CEO's and most pastors should not dabble in politics. You cannot ride the fence.

I have a lot of heartburn when CEOs use personal account information or customers to spread their social messages. Kohl's used my personal account information to send out a letter on social injustice. That is not the reason for my account. Same with the customers of Expensify. They are there for software needs and not campaign choices for the CEO. Just saying. . .

Some people just live in a bubble. What's in their silly heads is all the reality they need. Expensify, I never knew you. Really. Never heard of this company.

Remember when Scottevests were advertised on Fox. "SCOTTeVEST CEO Scott Jordan said his company advertises on Fox News because their viewers are “extremely gullible” and “f**cking idiots.” Will I will never purchase one of those vests. I can see where this somewhat similar to the CEO of Expensify. The CEO of Expensify put his company on the line for political reasons. The CEO of Scottevest was a belligerent jerk.

If i sent an email to my customers, asking them to vote for or against any candidate or ballot issue, I'd be in front of HR so fast your head would spin. And all that would happen in that meeting would be I was given a cardboard box and 30 minutes to clear my desk.
A number of years ago my then employer was acquired by a well-known (and at the time well-respected) conglomerate. I had to sit through a three hour ethics presentation from said corporations ethics czar's minion explain what we could.not do in our capacity as a corporate enployee. This would have been example #1.
