On a night when the NBA broadcast its most important game, you would think that the league would own the night. That, once again, turned out to not be the case. The viewership numbers for the sixth and final game of the NBA Finals are in, and they are atrocious. Game 6 drew, at its peak, 6.028 million viewers. To put that in perspective, Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, which included a team from Canada and did not include LeBron James, drew 18.34 million viewers. Those figures represent a 66 percent drop.(Snip) The heavy viewership losses are consistent with disastrous viewership numbers

Too bad they were beaten by an NFL game. I would have preferred if they were topped by a Gilligan's Island rerun.

I think more people rioted and looted in downtown LA afterward than watched that stupid game.
I turn off any program with the words Black Lives Matter written on anything. Same with kneeling and other forms of disrespect for our country. Sports would have been over the top in popularity during a pandemic if the idiotic owners had not enabled the players to be so hateful towards a huge part of their fanbase. I hope they're all digging ditches and sweeping sidewalks five years from now.

The NBA forgot something...
People need air.
People need water.
People need food.
No one needs the NBA.
The entire entertainment industry exists
to fill "excess" time,
and runs on "excess" money.
Right now this one has neither,
and one doubts one is alone.

They can take their social postings on shirts and the court and shove them. LeBron is a racist pig and socialist. He will go down in flames.

I just cannot seem to like a game that is supposed to be done with finesse, being played like a football contest!! Whatever happened to "You can't even touch" the person with the ball.
And another thing, when the little guys drive to the basket and jump into the defender the foul should be on them, the little guy!!!
Too bad all of the refs are little guys that protect the little guys.

Haven't been interested in the NBA since Kareem was in the league. What few highlights I have seen since then show tattooed men carrying the ball down court.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of China loving anti-American fools. No way a single dime of my hard earned money is going to anyone who is disrespectful to this country. How can they disparage a country that enabled them to reach higher than they ever dreamed was possible? Let them taste the bitterness of rejection by the American people the rest of their lives. Stop worshiping these overpaid narcissists.

We watched NBA and NFL, but a few years ago, we dropped the NBA. There comes a time when I'm just done with it, I'm at that same point with the NFL. I just don't care anymore. When they got political, they sucked the joy out of watching a sport we watched to get away from politics. College Game Day was my favorite TV show and we'd never miss it, but after Kirk Herbstreit had a crying breakdown due to "Social Justice", we haven't watched a second of it.... I'm done with it...

FTA: Recently, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that next year the NBA will likely not feature the on-court social justice displays that have become commonplace this season.
When they finally lose their jobs and are forced to get non-sports jobs, I wonder if Benny's Used Cars in Terre Haute will support their "right" to take a knee for BLM when they're supposed to be wiping down the cars. I wonder if Burger King will support their "right" to stop what they're doing in the back, go into the seating area and take a knee, looking at all the customers in disdain, trying to impute their self-righteousness on the people standing in line to order Whoppers. Sadly, the victim-millionaires still won't ever get it.

This tells you what people really think of BLM, and how sick and tired everyone is of the damn race card. If people are asked by pollsters, they give the PC response, unfortunately. But in the privacy of their homes, they simply turn off the very tall black multimillionaire whiners. It is one of the supreme ironies of our times that these fools attack the country that gave them the opportunity to rake in a fortune by bouncing a ball and throwing it through a hoop, but cozy up to one of the most truly racist-- and brutally racist-- nations on earth.
Lebron, put aside what you can do with a round ball. Now, what makes you such an extraordinary and valuable human being? Hmm? Take your time.

I'm no business person, but for the life of me, I do not understand any business, especially a nonessential one like this, looking to China to keep them afloat. So are they REALLY expecting people living under communism to pay their bills? The people in China don't even get to KEEP most of their money. Are pro sports owners thinking that the Chinese government will just keep shelling out dollars? If so, that won't last long. After all, it's not like the NBA, NFL, or any other sports team provide ANYTHING useful in return.
I can hear Chinese officials now: Let's see, should we pay millions of dollars to watch people play a stupid game or should we buy more ammo, military equipment, and, oh, I dunno, food, maybe?

I agree with the gentleman below who said he "turns off when he sees the words "black lives matter". It's not that I don't believe that the murder of black men, boys, women, girls, is a tragedy, it's just that ALL lives matter. And I don't want to hear any specious horse droppings saying that the initials b-l-m are endowed with some SPECIAL significance. Taking a human life is a horrible thing and I hope that I am never compelled to do so.

I love the way they use delicate language to deflect attention away from the real problem, Americans are sick of arrogant blacks and their constant whining. If they want to get our attention, get an education, get a real job and marry the childrens' mother, you know, like most of us do.

Ask any preacher from any denomination and they will tell you that talking about sin never goes over well at a party. You are simply mixing things that shouldn't --- and really don't --- go together.
When people WANT to have fun (like watching a sport game) they hate having their fun spoiled by any kind of finger-wagging from a school marm. I can think of no faster buzz-killer than BLM.
The sponsors will soon realize they have lost eyeballs looking at their commercials and are paying twice as much for half the count. Less revenue rolling in means less money the owners have to shower on the spoiled brats who are supposed to be working for them. Someone will take a cut!

Bingo, #34. I can't wait until the networks renegotiate with the NBA. I can just hear their chief negotiator now, speaking to the idiot who "manages" the NBA: "now Adam, it's not personal: it's business. Your viewership is in the toilet, and ad purchase prices are based on how many people a company thinks will see their ad."

If these NBA "social warriors" are really down for the cause they should tattoo BLM on their foreheads. Does anyone know if LeBron matched the reward money for the capture of the suspect that attempted to assassinate those two LA County deputies as they were sitting in their car? I know the LA sheriff challenged LeBron to put up or shut up.
