Viewership for NBA Finals Finale
Crashes Nearly 70%, Beaten by Random

On a night when the NBA broadcast its most important game, you would think that the league would own the night. That, once again, turned out to not be the case. The viewership numbers for the sixth and final game of the NBA Finals are in, and they are atrocious. Game 6 drew, at its peak, 6.028 million viewers. To put that in perspective, Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, which included a team from Canada and did not include LeBron James, drew 18.34 million viewers. Those figures represent a 66 percent drop.(Snip) The heavy viewership losses are consistent with disastrous viewership numbers

I think more people rioted and looted in downtown LA afterward than watched that stupid game. I turn off any program with the words Black Lives Matter written on anything. Same with kneeling and other forms of disrespect for our country. Sports would have been over the top in popularity during a pandemic if the idiotic owners had not enabled the players to be so hateful towards a huge part of their fanbase. I hope they're all digging ditches and sweeping sidewalks five years from now.

I just cannot seem to like a game that is supposed to be done with finesse, being played like a football contest!! Whatever happened to "You can't even touch" the person with the ball. And another thing, when the little guys drive to the basket and jump into the defender the foul should be on them, the little guy!!! Too bad all of the refs are little guys that protect the little guys.

We watched NBA and NFL, but a few years ago, we dropped the NBA. There comes a time when I'm just done with it, I'm at that same point with the NFL. I just don't care anymore. When they got political, they sucked the joy out of watching a sport we watched to get away from politics. College Game Day was my favorite TV show and we'd never miss it, but after Kirk Herbstreit had a crying breakdown due to "Social Justice", we haven't watched a second of it.... I'm done with it...

FTA: Recently, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that next year the NBA will likely not feature the on-court social justice displays that have become commonplace this season. When they finally lose their jobs and are forced to get non-sports jobs, I wonder if Benny's Used Cars in Terre Haute will support their "right" to take a knee for BLM when they're supposed to be wiping down the cars. I wonder if Burger King will support their "right" to stop what they're doing in the back, go into the seating area and take a knee, looking at all the customers in disdain, trying to impute their self-righteousness on the people standing in line to order Whoppers. Sadly, the victim-millionaires still won't ever get it.

But in the privacy of their homes, they simply turn off the very tall black multimillionaire whiners. I'm no business person, but for the life of me, I do not understand any business, especially a nonessential one like this, looking to China to keep them afloat. So are they REALLY expecting people living under communism to pay their bills? The people in China don't even get to KEEP most of their money. Are pro sports owners thinking that the Chinese government will just keep shelling out dollars? If so, that won't last long. After all, it's not like the NBA, NFL, or any other sports team provide ANYTHING useful in return. I can hear Chinese officials now: Let's see, should we pay millions of dollars to watch people play a stupid game or should we buy more ammo, military equipment, and, oh, I dunno, food, maybe?

Ask any preacher from any denomination and they will tell you that talking about sin never goes over well at a party. You are simply mixing things that shouldn't --- and really don't --- go together. When people WANT to have fun (like watching a sport game) they hate having their fun spoiled by any kind of finger-wagging from a school marm. I can think of no faster buzz-killer than BLM. The sponsors will soon realize they have lost eyeballs looking at their commercials and are paying twice as much for half the count. Senator Mazie Hirono on Monday told the Senate 'hell no' and gave a thumbs down as she cast her vote in Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation to the Supreme Court. The Democrat from Hawaii then walked off the floor as the roll call of the vote continued to be read out.(Snip) Hirono had earlier tweeted: 'LGBTQ rights. Voting rights. Women’s equality. Health Care. These rights didn’t materialize out of thin air—they came after hard-fought battles. 'Judge Barrett’s radical views and her disregard for real-world impacts show #WhatsAtStake if she is confirmed to the Supreme Court.'

he Wall Street Journal recently ran two pieces, one atop the other, covering how neighbors and loved ones span the gulf of divergent political beliefs. Needless to say, it’s a topic of particular relevance during this, or any, election season. I teased a buddy of mine by sending it to him since I knew his wife was a supporter of Bernie Sanders, while he is generally more conservative. “Let me read this jewel, haha,” he replied. I have always struggled with this dichotomy in theory. It certainly makes for fascinating theater whenever Mary Matalin and James Carville are invited to participate in panel

Back in March, the COVID mantra was, “15 days to slow the spread”, meaning flattening the curve. The purpose was to avoid overwhelming the medical system as no one really knew what we were up against with the Wuhan virus. This allowed time for the system to adapt and recalibrate to this new illness. As the virus peaked in mid-April, the subsequent months should have been the normal course of a viral pandemic, some getting sick to varying degrees, others unfortunately dying, but eventually reaching herd immunity, itself a longstanding concept -- suddenly controversial.

Joe Biden called President Donald Trump “George” on Sunday, as if he were running against George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, or maybe George Washington, before catching himself. (Or being helped by someone outside the camera’s view.) He appeared to be a tired old man in need of help with his everyday life. Yet at both debates, though he made mistakes, he looked to be far more sentient, at times even sharp, in stark contrast to the doddering senior citizen we usually see. How can this happen? “What kind of country we’re gonna be,” Biden asked in a weekend interview

A West Side security guard was allegedly attacked by two sisters he told to wear masks and use hand sanitizer—one of the women holding him by the hair while the other stabbed him more than two dozen times. “It’s the complete randomness of this. It’s terrifying,” Judge Mary Marubio said Tuesday while ordering the sister held without bail on attempted murder charges. The argument at Snipes shoe store in Lawndale escalated Sunday when 18-year-old Jayla Hill took out her phone and began filming a guard who asked them to leave for refusing to use personal protective equipment, Cook County prosecutors said.

There was a lot of money lost for Major League Baseball in 2020. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told Sportico in an exclusive interview that the 30 MLB teams are $8.3 billion in debt from their different lenders, and they are expected to post between $2.8-$3 billion in operational losses this year. “We are going to be at historic high levels of debt,” Manfred told the website. “And it’s going to be difficult for the industry to weather another year where we don’t have fans in the ballpark...

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said Monday that The Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan’s recent piece criticizing Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris came off as “bitchy” and that conservative white women should keep their mouths shut on certain topics. Ms. Noonan, a former speechwriter and special assistant to the late President Ronald Reagan, was slammed by liberals over the weekend for a column criticizing Mrs. Harris, California senator, as unserious. “She’s dancing with drum lines and beginning rallies with ‘Wassup, Florida!’” Ms. Noonan wrote. “She’s throwing her head back and laughing a loud laugh
