RNC launches $10M campaign to promote
Judge Amy Coney Barrett ahead

The Republican National Committee launched a $10 million campaign to promote President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett to “hold Democrats accountable” for what the GOP called their “hypocrisy” on the nomination process to the high court. The initiative, rolled out after the president formally nominated Coney Barrett to the high court on Saturday from the White House Rose Garden, includes a $10 million digital ad campaign, a new website and a get-out-the-vote effort in target states. The RNC said Saturday that the initiative also includes a “massive rapid response operation” to amplify Coney Barrett’s record, while “harnessing voters’ enthusiasm about appointing a constitutionalist”

"The RNC said Saturday that the initiative also includes a “massive rapid response operation” to amplify Coney Barrett’s record, while “harnessing voters’ enthusiasm about appointing a constitutionalist” to the Supreme Court, and “motivate and persuade” voters to the polls on Election Day." This is why they are spending the money. An additional incentive to motivate republican voters to go out and vote down ticket. If you read past the first paragraph you would know that.

Agree with previous posters. With votes in hand, why blow $10 million that could help GOP congressional and senatorial candidates so President Trump can get some help for a change. We need a republican majority in the senate and house to really get a conservative agenda to become a reality. If the democrats keep the HOR, there is no chance of solving the immigration and voter fraud issues.

Getting Judge Barrett some exposure is good as it will provide needed publicity for the pubbie Senators. But, the RNC shouldn't make it look like Judge Barrett is running for political office. Rather, have any publicity focus on her judicial appointment and confirmation.

The money is used to motivate conservatives to get involved with the nomination and start contacting their senators and let them know how they expect them to vote, especially voters with Dem senators. Remind them that a few of their colleagues were out of a job after the Kavanaugh hearings.

They could save 10 million by going directly for an up or down vote but then, that would take courage and that's something the Republicans replaced with Depends decades ago. Amy's life will be destroyed now and the Republican party is going to pay to let the Marxists to do it. Brilliant Mitch, just brilliant. Stupid that can't be fixed.

It's all good advertising for the RNC. It makes all look better in a time of ugly Left politics. It makes President Trump look like an excellent decision maker. All this publicity will be keep the Dems at bay. This along with other bad publicity on the Dems, soon to be released, is all part of the presentation to acquire Democrats votes. Then it helps with the Catholic vote and the Christian vote. The turnout at the Mall yesterday for prayer day was phenomenal. Ralph Reed and other Christian organizations are turning it up to full throttle to contact millions of people in the next several weeks. Even Catholics who see the handwriting on the wall and are jumping in to do whatever they can. At the PA rally last night, I heard that 15% in attendance there were Democrats that did not vote in 2016.

At first I thought why spend the money? But, then I thought the Senate is very much in play and these ads will be a campaign advertising blitz that hopefully will underline the critical need to keep the Senate Republican. Also, just my little suggestion to our beloved President Donald John Trump: When you win big, do something really, really radical, remove John Roberts as Chief Justice and have the distinction of appointing the 48 year old first WOMAN CHIEF JUSTICE, Amy Coney Barrett. How sweet would that be? If we hold the Senate, and Obamacare Roberts resigns, replaced him with Goia or Tom Cotton or whomever. Win, win all around.

Strategic thinking. Although getting Judge Barrett on SCOTUS will be a wonderful achievement for the Trump Republicans, getting PDJT re-elected, keeping the Senate, and gaining back control of the House are also very important goals. Let's use this rock-solid nomination to leverage electoral success up and down the ticket. $10 million is a mere pittance in today's money-soaked political campaign strategies.

The ad campaign, IMO, will be used to highlight the stakes in this election. These are the judges PDJT will nominate, these are the judges a Repub Senate will confirm. The RATs will show their butts like the classless creatures they are. This is a push for the Senate and may well benefit the House.

More than a month into the new school year, it is already evident that in-person school instruction is not causing mass outbreaks of the coronavirus. Researchers at Brown University have found extremely low levels of infection among students and teachers. To be specific, the rate of suspected and confirmed student infections is just 0.21%. (The rate of confirmed infections is one third of that.) Among teachers and staff, the infection rate is 0.51%. It appears that, thanks in part to schools’ precautions -- social distancing guidelines, improved ventilation systems, mask mandates, etc. -- one has significantly less risk of contracting COVID-19

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

Joseph R. Biden Jr. was frustrated as he tried last year to prepare for an unwieldy debate season that stuffed as many as 11 other Democratic rivals onto a single stage. At some mock sessions, he was flanked by “Elizabeth Warren,” played by Jennifer Granholm, the former governor of Michigan, and “Bernie Sanders,” portrayed by Bob Bauer, the former White House counsel, as they peppered him with progressive lines of attack. Mr. Biden lamented privately to advisers — and occasionally in public — that it was nearly impossible to debate with such a crowd. “If you had a debate with five other people,

Montana tweeted on Sunday that it was a "scary situation, but thankful that everybody is doing well." According to police, Montana told them his 9-month-old grandchild was sleeping in the playpen on Saturday when an unknown woman allegedly entered the residence and removed the child from the playpen and held the baby in her arms. It’s been 20 years since the outbreak of the al-Aqsa Intifada, a period of carnage that saw the deaths of over 1,000 Israelis and 3,000 Palestinians. The Intifada killed people and it killed hope. It killed Israeli hopes for an end to conflict and Palestinian hopes to become citizens in their own sovereign state. In August 2000, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict seemed to be only a couple of signatures away from becoming a footnote in the history of the Middle East. The accepted logic in Washington DC and foreign policy think tanks throughout the Western world was that Israeli-Palestinian peace was the gateway to wider peace in the Middle East.

You almost have to admire the talent for backhanding happiness shared by producers and editors at CNN. When an event celebrated by conservatives pops into the news cycle, Jeff Zucker’s employees inevitably respond with variations on themes first sounded by the Obamas, whose eight-year Reign of Error was every bit as transformational as they had hoped it would be. CNN staffers allied with Michelle Obama’s point of view respond to events with stories along the lines of “It burns!” Those staffers who identify more closely with Barack Obama approach events with different ways to say “You didn’t build that.”

And has Kamala Harris been put into the witness protection program? She still hasn’t held a press conference or made a major appearance since she was nominated to be Biden’s running mate. If this is the most important election in decades, this is its most important moment. Thus far, this campaign has been a referendum on Trump; Tuesday’s debate will be one on Biden. Its outcome depends on which Biden shows up. Like all races with a president seeking re-election, this one has centered on the incumbent. Thanks to a hostile media and Trump’s aggressive use of social media, America has had plenty of material for judgement. Topping it off, 2020 has been an acutely tumultuous year: Beginning with an impeachment trial and now a contentious Supreme Court vacancy — with a pandemic, a recession, and nationwide violence in between.

Is anyone really surprised that Donald Trump’s tax affairs are opaque? Or that he is not as rich as he claims? Is it really all that horrifying that he has for years claimed business losses in order to offset his significant income tax liability? Does it appall us that the Trump family used a Delaware-based consulting group to pay themselves? Of course not. The New York Times’s big Trump tax files splash on Sunday is therefore something of a flop. It is well-timed — an election is fast-approaching and the story might give Biden a good attack line in the big TV debate on Tuesday night.

The release of a joint report by the Senate committees on homeland security and finance raised important questions about obviously unethical foreign profiteering by members of the Biden family. In particular, former Vice President Joe Biden’s ne’er-do-well son Hunter received a remarkable amount of money from highly suspect foreign entities, including ones controlled by the Chinese government. On at least one occasion, the elder Biden appears to have directly facilitated his son’s tawdry dealings.
