Since approximately one minute after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death was announced on Friday, politicians on both sides of the aisle have been voicing their opinions about filling her seat just weeks before the next presidential election.President Donald Trump has said he will nominate a potential replacement at the end of the week. The left has already started a smear campaign against one of the candidates thought to be at the top of Trump’s shortlist, Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.Their biggest gripe so far? Barrett’s Catholic faith.

Manchin is facing the political reality that his constituents benefit more from Republican policy than dem policy. They are not flaming Leftists. Manchin has always had to tread carefully and seems more moderate in temperment. So good for Joe in being rational.
However, it doesn't matter. The Left has dragged the dem party into a political desert. When Congressmen like Joe Manchin break from their party, they are STILL lost in the middle of a desert. Joe has ZERO chance of changing the overall insanity of his party. Just because you are the nicest thug in a motorcycle gang, it doesn't change the fact that you are still a thug and the gang is dangerous.

Ha! FTA: 'That’s not to say Manchin will vote for Barrett, or whoever Trump’s nominee ends up being, when the time comes. He’s already said he doesn’t support filling the vacant Supreme Court seat until after the election.' So he already plans not to vote for her. This is just duplicitous grandstanding to impress the Roobs in the hills and valleys of West Virginia. A putz writ large. Rush always said 'a liberal is the most gutless thing one can be. Exhibit A.

# 3. I’m a republican but I can tell you Manchin isn’t worse than Romney. Occasionally Manchin makes sense. I don’t like democRATS at all but he did speak up. I know things he has done for his constituents. I voted for him once because the repub running to be governor was almost as bad as Biden..

I am from West Virginia, and the general feeling is that Manchin's vote to impeach Trump could end his political career. Trump carried this state with 68.7 % of the vote, and every one of our 55 counties were red. Manchin was a decent governor, but moving to DC put him in with a bad pack of people and it changed him. He has lost a lot of credibility and trust back in his home state. He has acquired a stench that overwhelms any attempt on his part to honestly appear fair and decent .

Any patriotic, true American who is still a Democrat politician has been blind and deaf for years... and should resign immediately from the party that has paired with Marxist/Islamist thugs to destroy our freedom and children's future.
Now is the time for all good men to come to the air...

this is a tricky area of government and its practiitioners.
there can be no religious tests for office under our system of government, but religion inevitably is considered in nominations and in approvals.
on our U.S. supreme court, currently 8 members, catholics are in the majority. and Barrett is a slightly different breed of catholic, being a charismatic catholic.
charismatic Catholic, like Protestant pentecostals, practice speaking in tongues. (The bible says speaking in tongues is related to the presence of the Holy spirit. My personal interpretation is that 'tongues' meant other languages. charismatics and pentecostels believe
that they are speaking an unknown foreign language. To an outsider, speaking in tongues is weird and scary.
Manchin has lots of constituents who are pentecostals. they believe they are baptized in the holy Spirit, , and the proof is in their speaking of tongues.

Back in the 1990's, when Manchin was running for governor, he had a 100% pro-life voting record, according to West Virginians for Life. However, since he has been in the Senate, he has fallen to 25%. Being a Democrat senator in Congress has corrupted him. But West Virginians won't let him forget if he votes against a Trump nominee. West Virginia is currently Trump country. MAGA!!

Satan already has all the Marxist Communist democrats, rino's, liberals, independents, and some republicans, under his control worshiping him daily for earthly rewards of lust.
Satan try's hardest to fool a Christians through evil temptations of lust for everything, power, wealth, sex, praise by Satan's other worshipers. Satan's servants who have attained these and help Satan by using his evil to brainwash those being tempted into acceptance of Satan's terms of lust and losing their immortal soul.
Those who know who God is yet do not live their life trying to serve God our Father under His terms have already lost their immortal soul.
God tells us every one on earth, except His very elect (144,000), will have Satan's mark and be worshiping Satan (Lucifer) at the return of Jesus followed by God our Father I AM THAT I AM. At this time that is about 80% or more of His creations.
Remember we are now living in the sound of Gods' 5th trump.
Under Gods' 6th trump everyone will be forced by Satan and his evil servants into accepting and worshiping him and all but Gods' very elect will accept the evil lust of Satans' power over them for earthly rewards of lust.

For the past ten years the Court has been entirely Jewish and Catholic with the exception of Neil Gorsuch, who was raised Catholic but now is presumed, by others, to be Episcopalian because he attends an Episcopal church. Looking into Gorsuch’s life I can find no proof that he has ever claimed a religion other than Catholicism. Although I am Protestant I continue to abide by rulings from a court whose demographics do not reflect my faith and at times drifts far away from my core beliefs. I do so because we worship the same God and I recognize the Court’s authority. It puzzles me, given the history of pogroms and the Holocaust, that a Jewish member of the Senate would cast aspersions on a nominee’s fitness for office because of her religion. Short of speaking in tongues and twirling rattlesnakes above her head during hearings, the Christian Amy Coney Barrett’s religion is none of Feinstein’s business. The process of confirming nominees shouldn’t consist of hazing, which even high school students and college students must avoid by law.

Shouldn't we be concerned when a Democrat starts singing the praises of a Trump nominee? Praise from a Democrat is an indicator they think she will side with them on some or all issues.

I stand a better chance of being attacked by a shark and then getting hit by lightning on the beach afterwards than I have of ever seeing Joe support Trump's next SCOTUS nominee.
He's just trying to cover all bases and protect his future plans to run for Governor or Senate again.

While I agree with Manchin’s observation here, it is concerning that he can stand and stay in a party that celebrates, supports, and glorifies abortion and euthanasia.
The Dem party is ugly, vindictive and full of loathing for the citizens it purports to represent. Follow their bank accounts, and of all those who side with lobbyists. You know who you are, Republicans.!

Re #8, Barrett is not a “charismatic Catholic”. She is a Catholic who also belongs to an organization called People of Praise which is for persons of all faiths. PoP calls itself a “charismatic Christian community”
Jesus desires unity for all people. We live out this unity the best we can, in spite of the divisions within Christianity. We are Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, Pentecostals, Presbyterians and other denominational and nondenominational Christians.
Despite our differences, we are bound together by our Christian baptism. Despite our differences, we worship together. While remaining faithful members of our own churches, we have found a way to live our daily lives together.

FTA: Perhaps even more importantly, the Senate’s constitutional duty with regard to federal judges is to “advise and consent” — not to tear apart the life and reputation of potential justices in order to keep them off the court because of ideological differences.

The judge has had a recent hearing for her judgeship. A longer more intensive would be "overkill" (hate to use that term). I doubt anything new has arisen, anything new of verity.
In my opinion, if Manchin votes for her, good. His motives i can't judge at this point, but he would be going against the entire Dem cohort, although i realize the leadership will give certain people a hall pass exemption for their temporary use.
I really detest the "sunshine patriot." But any extra votes are appreciated. Just think of how many Repubs vote Aye for their Dem "Friends across the aisle" (UGH).
I just heard a news clip of Pelosi and Schumer issuing their insulting and condescending comments anti-Trump. These people literally make me SICK.

Clearly, Feinstein has made the conscious decision to:
1. Violate the rights of Barrett under both the first amendment and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964;
2. Offend God Almighty by saying she is 'concerned' that Barret's Christian faith is actually deep enough that it is reflected in her public life!
Good luck with that!

Each of the dem Senators swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, but today's dem pols don't even know what principles it stands for. In this case, the Founders secured the freedom of religion in the very First Amendment because that Right is most cherished and important! The dem Senators should read it sometime!
